Fini didn't say anything more right away, watching how easily the ball arched through the air for him. Her mind was not quite as focused on the game as it should have been, which showed first in how she almost missed receiving the ball again. And then in the horrible failed attempt to shoot it in the hoop. Instead of bouncing off the backboard, the ball pinged off the rim of the hoop, coming back at them with a little more force then when she'd thrown it.
Brushing a few loose strands of hair from her face, Fini gave Jack a long look. That same shame seemed to win the battle and she hung her head a bit. "Yeah. That's one way to put it. I don't... exactly remember all of it. But I remember enough."
"It's... a strange sensation, when you get your memory back. Or most of it. And realize what happened or what went on. There have been a time or two that I've seriously questioned which reality was the 'real' one." But there had been one major difference between here and now... and then. She hadn't had Vashi.
A small smile reappeared. "Let me ask, do you still find it strange having a weapon speak in your head?" She paused before continuing. "Because I'll share something with you. It will be your lifeline."
:: Awe, you do care, precious~ ::
"They'll also be the biggest pain in your a**." She added with a grin.

Oh, the shame. "You've the right to slap me if I ever fall so far, alternate universe or not," Jack told her seriously. Listening to her description, he stepped in and caught the ball with a small grunt, switching to shoot it back--and watch it bounce off again.
Alright, so he needed to practice some more before he could pull off the old badass moves . . .
"Strange? I'll never get used to it," he replied with a sigh. "It's not natural. My mind is my own, and his--its is its." Owain made a downtrodden sound, naturally, which he also naturally ignored. "But I can believe the pain in the a** part. Mine prefers whining and babbling like a child--doesn't add much to the fear factor. But this is the real world, Scargirl: titans wanting to kill you and all."
He winked for the hell of it.

She moved swiftly to snatch the ball as it rebounded off the hoop again, giving Jack a solemn look. "I'll remember that. Wish I'd had someone to slap me." Fini muttered, an indignant flush rising to her cheeks. "I swear, I'll kill that oversized show pony!" Lining up a shot - or what she hoped was a shot - Fini tossed the ball with a little more anger then she'd meant to.
Hey it actually made it in!
Laughing, finally, Fini gave Jack a knowing look. "You say that now, but a few months down the line and you'll find it strange to not hear that voice." And then an even more amused look. "Maybe you're just afraid of what little secrets you're partner will discover." She said dryly, snickering at his description of his weapon. "Ha ha! Vashi gives me arrogant snarking with a dash of pervert to top it off."
:: Oooh, jolly green giant there thinks he's so cool~ Let me give him my two cents worth for that little nickname! :: The varcolac was snarling and pacing. Or at least she got the feeling of 'pacing'.
Fini sized Jack up, wondering how long he'd hold on to that mentality. "Did you just call me 'Scargirl'?" She asked in mock disbelief. "Does that mean I can freely call you 'Rex'?" Like from Toy Story. Not the bad a** dinosaur, Jack. You weren't cool enough for that.

One day, he thought, he was going to regret giving her that right.
"Nah, I'm not afraid," Jack answered lazily as he went to nab the ball. "I know me; G-man's the one who gets to deal with what he thought was a good choice."
(( You are a good choice! You must simply believe in yourself is all. Now, could you explain to me why this game is called 'basketball' when I see a ball but no basket . . . ? ))
He chuckled, realizing it looked out of place with only half the conversation available. The joys of being a Hunter, he supposed. "Rex?" he questioned as he tossed the ball and watched it sail into the grass instead. Whoops. "The hell would you call me Rex for?"

Yes, Jack. Yes you were.
Then again, she might just slap you for the hell of it.
Fini laughed, relating more to that take on their weapons more so then the other. If Vashi wanted (and he totally did already) to stick his nose where it didn't belong, he'd have to deal with the consequences. Like a pissy female. Or being ignored for a week. "Y'know, I've learned that ignoring them for a week works wonders~" She said with a sly little grin.
:: You just think it will work, precious. I can amuse myself with your thoughts for months. ::
She watched the ball sail into the grass, giving Jack a raised eyebrow look. Over shoot just a bit there, huh? Lips twitching up, she jogged over to retrieve the ball, smile morphing into a grin. "What? Haven't you ever seen Toy Story?" She asked, like it should have been an obvious answer. "Big green dino named Rex?" Who was an idiot. Was she calling you an idiot? That was the question, wasn't it?
Winking at him, Fini turned to toss the ball, watching it bounce in. She just smiled sweetly at Jack. Ol-j-man Really, Jack? This is your element, c'mooooon! x3

"Oh, I've ignored Owain countless times. He takes it as a sign to study me and point out 'the curiosities of my thinking process'," Jack explained, taking on the posh accent of his partner. "Telling him to shut up works better; being passive isn't the way to be a hunter." But he'd probably still try the week long silence deal if it really came down to it.
Jack raised a brow at her, having to think for a moment to place the title in his head. "Oh, that one. I've seen it once before." He gave a shrug as he retrieved the ball before it bounced off. "I didn't really watch a lot of movies or tv shows growing up."
(( But pictures moving of their own volition, and with sound! The magic box must be enjoyed by all! ))
Basketball in hand, he flashed Fini his own grin. Making a 'watch this' motion, he turned around so that his back was to the board, dribbled between his hands for a bit, and then tossed the ball over his shoulder; he did not move until he heard the soft swish of nothing but net. "Beautiful~" he crooned as he stepped away. "So, what is your partner anyway, if I might ask?"

The posh accent did her in and Fini was cracking up. It was always so interesting to hear how other hunters got along with their weapons! "I bet that is a process in itself." She teased him. "And if only 'shut up' worked as well as we wanted it to." It rarely worked on Vashi.
The amusement at the nickname died a little as Fini gave him a curious look. "Really? I can't say that I watched many either. I probably know more kids flicks then I do good movies or shows." She admitted. Living at an orphanage and being in foster care meant she didn't have much time to enjoy such a thing as TV. Not until she was adopted. But by then, she enjoyed reading more or going out and doing physical activities. "By the way, where are you from, Jack?" He really didn't have to answer if he didn't want to. It was just her curiosity growing.
Okay, she wasn't going to lie, that had been totally cool. Fini watched the ball sail through the air and swish through the net. "Daaaamn~" That was about all the praise she was going to admit to. Retrieving the ball again, she waited until she was beside him before answering.
"Vashi? He's a creature called a vârcolac. From what I was able to find about his kind, it's like the mythical beast the Hati and Sköll were derived from." She paused, dribbling the ball a few times before shooting it. Fini sighed as she missed. "Or the really simplified version; he's a wolf demon."
:: A very handsome and amazing and rockin' wolf demon. :: Said mutt added. Ol-j-man I think they are both at 4:4 actually xD

"Didn't really get even that; just the occasional movie when my mother was generous. But I," he replied smoothly as he retrieved the ball, "am from somewhere else, of course." He wasn't about to give up information that easily.
(( It is just your birthplace, friend. I do not see harm in that? ))
Jack sighed inwardly; fun ruiner. "The mythical land of Illinois," he added as he took a shot, watched the ball roll precariously around the rim before falling into the net.
"So, wolf demon, huh? Sounds ******** awesome. I have a p***y giant for a partner, sadly, but at least his weapon form's nice."

Fini just gave him a small, sad smile. "Maybe you and I should try watching something sometime. When, y'know, things are up and running again. And we can get a hold of a working laptop." She grinned, chuckling at his avoidance in answering where he was from. At least not easily!
She just waited, watching as he took a shot. Which, naturally, made it into the net. Her lips twitched.
"Illinois, huh? Definitely a little ways away from the magical land of California." She said casually, moving to grab the ball and dribble it absently with a hand, laughing at Jack.
"A p***y giant? Awe, look at you two bond so well!" Fini giggled, flashing him a grin. "And yeah, wolf demon. The images he's shared with me are pretty awesome, ain't gonna lie. But that could just be him trying to impress me even more." Something that he clearly did not agree with and just snarled curses at her as she took a shot, smiling even more as it swished in. Ol-j-man HI ILU and kyrie's are speshul creatures that can't keep track of things so... IGNORE THE ABOVE! 8'D
