"Well, no, I think you have hydrangeas all to yourself. Then there are sunflowers, magnolias, marigolds, lilies, carnations.. Each one tied with a new person I've met. Maybe I'll eventually look the the meanings behind each of these flowers. Who knows, each flower might have a sign of how a relationship might work out. Friend wise or other." Laughing, he went towards the front of the shop, leaving his card behind to pay. It wouldn't be hard to miss such a large, bright red truck, but it still didn't reach the store yet.
"I don't know if I'm ever going to impact the world that greatly, but some day I want to be remembered for trying for something. " There were too many variables for him to have a specific goal to work for right now.. But he did know that he wanted the world to be safe for his brother and sisters..
"I talk alot about myself, but what about you? Do you want your story to be remembered one day?"

As Emry charged the cost of the two items to Isha's card, he silently wondered who Isha knew that was associated with magnolias. Whoever it was, Emry probably didn't know the person and mentally scolded himself for entertaining a notion that everyone vaguely associated with magnolias might have some sort of mystical relationship to each other. There was one thing he was particularly curious about, though. "Flowers have meanings? You mentioned some of their associations with the gods. Is that what you're talking about?" He walked the card and receipt back to their owner. "Not my story so much, no. But I want to leave behind art which will inspire for generations and instill a mindset in those I'm near to be better stewards of the environment. I don't care if I'm forgotten, so long as I can make a difference. For example, I like antiques because they have history, yes, but they are also a sort of recycling. They're a way to cut back on what we take from our environment."

"Oh, well, there is that, of course. Then there is the more western meaning behind flowers. Have you ever heard of the 'language of flowers'? Different types of flowers have different meanings, and sometimes the different colors of the same flower can mean different things too. The only ones I really know of are carnations, because of my mothers obsessions with them. Since carnations come in a variety of colors, a 'carnation' in itself doesn't have a meaning. The color does. Red means something like Romantic love, or yellow means a sense of pride, or even disdain for someone or something. I know that green carnations were a secret symbol for the followers of Oscar Wilde back in the day. Carnations aren't naturally green, they can be dyed that way by sitting them in something colored as such. But that's all I really know. It's pretty interesting, if You ask me. If you know all the meanings, or even work one out of your own, you could have your own secret language."
Would it be rude to sit down on one of the chairs around here? He didn't really want to just keep standing off to the side, but it seemed like it would be improper to just sit on someone's merchandise. after all, how well do you know if the thing would even hold his weight? No, it would just be best if he continued to sand, he figured, and he rocked on his toes a bit, trying to keep himself from just wandering around the shop again.
"Ah, thank you." Isha didn't really bother to see where he was putting his card this time, putting it into his bag while he listened to the other speak further.
"You know.. I've always thought that it was a noble thing to want to protect the Earth. It's a living thing, that it is, and those who harm it.. Well, if we think of it in terms of it being a human body, those that hurt it are simply nasty bacteria. And most of the time, a body can fight off those that make it sick on it's own. People who try to help that, who try to make others aware of what their doing wrong, they are like.. Like Penicillin. Humans survived long before the discovery of such a thing, but when it was found out, it made it much more easier to live. That makes sense, right?" Isha wasn't philosophical, and most of his thoughts were honestly not that deep, but sometimes he managed to find a way to explain his feelings a bit more easily than other times.

"So...people who know this language of the flowers could be interpreting, say, a painting of roses a completely different way than everyone else would?" It was certainly an idea that certainly fascinated Emry; he could find secret messages to send with his art. But he was also a little indignant at the idea of people reading the wrong message into his work. He did remember an 'experiment' his kindergarten teacher had performed for her students with queen-anne's-lace and some dyed water. She had several glasses of colored water, each filled with a handfull of the lacy white flower. The flowers each changed to the color of the water they were in and each of the students was allowed to take one flower home to their parents. Emry was pretty sure that sort of thing was what Isha had meant when he was talking about the green carnations being dyed. He had some qualms about some ornamental horticulture, but that seemed innocent enough. "Yeah, like penicillin. Though, some people can hurt the environment more than others. The people with more control, such as governments and large companies, have a greater level of influence. When Haiti gained its independence, for example, they deforested almost their entire half of the island. There is a coal mine beneath Centralia, Pennsylvania which has been burning since the sixties when the fire first broke out. A strip mine in Africa is so large that it has altered atmospheric conditions around it making it unsafe to fly helicopters and airplanes over it. Still, even one small act can cause a big problem as well. There used to be a flightless bird which only lived on this one island until a man introduced his pet cat to the island, which proceeded to kill every last one of the birds."

"Indeed. A painting of roses in a vase, per say. Someone could see it as a romantic picture, symbolizing the love the painter had for someone. Or it could be a symbol for how someone has to try their best to keep their love alive before it eventually wilts away. But I suppose that's accounting for the vase too. I think art can never have a solid meaning, unless specifically stated by the artist. The human mind just varies too much, you know?"
How to respond to what else the man was saying.. After all, he seemed so adamant about what he was talking about, with all his examples, and reasoning.. Isha didn't want to come off as trying to change him, not at all, but What if he said something.. Out of place? Something that was completely against what the other was thinking? It would be tragic if their brief, blooming friendship was ruined just because they saw differently on something, but there was no real reason to be on tiptoes around Emry either. Isha wasn't that kind of person anymore.
"In the end, I think, the Earth will heal itself. After all, humans only live for so long. That doesn't mean we should just stop caring and do what we want, no,not at all. We should save what we have. But if something like another ice-age happens, and we cause it, the Earth herself will just take care of it again. I feel like it has it's own reset button, and when it gets frustrated, it's bound to happen again."
A honk from outside gained Isha's attention, and from the windows of the shop he could see the bright red truck that had come for him.
"Oh, looks like my ride is here! Let's go pack up the truck and then I can go ahead and let you get back to work."

"It's not just one or two humans that are the real problem, though. It's entire cultures and civilizations that don't know when to stop. If Japan's whale hunting and consumption habits were limited to the communities that actually have a tradition in whaling, the whales might not be on the verge of extinction. But now the entire nation has claimed it as part of their culture and kills whales at a rate they never had before. The Earth can't spontaneously bring those island birds back, nor galapagos tortoises. If we can't find a way to stop killing the whales, neither will they. It's not that something can't take their place, it's that they will never exist again. In Haiti, it wasn't just trees that were lost. It was everything that lived in just those trees. The environment in Haiti is forever altered. New trees may grow back some day, but not the species that were destroyed." "The body can heal itself from many bacteria, yes, but there are yet some bacteria that can kill it. Only a small bit of the botulism bacteria can be fatal." Emry was ranting but he didn't care. The arrival of Isha's driver distracted him, though. He grabbed the vase first, as it was smaller and easier to handle alone. He would hand it off if anyone offered. The mirror, on the other hand, would best be handled by two.

"Well.. Hence I said, penicillin." He didn't say much more after that, opting to follow after the other and greet his driver.
A tall man, wearing a simple dress shirt and slacks came from out of the truck. He wasn't exactly dressed to haul heavy cargo, but it was alot more reasonable to move about in than his normal attire of a black suit. He didn't say anything, as he was a man of few words, instead opting to just take the vase from Emry and placing it on the back seat of the front of the vehicle. The Mirror would go in the truck's bed.
"Emry, this is my friend and driver, Greg. He doesn't talk much, but he's a good person to have around, you know?" The large man still didn't say too much, instead he headed inside, waiting to be told which mirror he was to take. He did wonder, however, what would persuade his young boss to buys such things. Weren't kids his age supposed to play videogames and spend money on their friends?
"Greg will help with the mirror. I'm afraid I'd be a bit useless when it comes to carrying that out."

That's right. Penicillin. Sometimes, though, it felt like penicillin wasn't going to be enough. That there weren't enough others out there trying to combat this disease....or maybe he was just alone. Then again, every analogy breaks down if you take it too literally. He allowed the subject to be dropped.
Nodding a greeting to Greg when introduced, Emry grabbed one end of the mirror.
"Don't worry about it. Helping to get the larger things into a truck is part of my job description. I hope you have someone to help you at home, though. I have to stay here and keep an eye on the store."
The mirror wasn't actually that heavy, but it was fairly awkward, especially in a store which was basically an obstacle course of fragile objects. The two of them, though, made it just fine. After the mirror was loaded and secured in the truck bed, Emry hopped off the truck and offered his hand to Isha to shake.
"Good luck with your project."
Then after a pause.
"I'm going work to hard to be the best penicillin I can be."

"Yeah, there are people back home to help us. Lots of people, so there's no need to worry. It is a shame that you have to stay here though. Maybe next time I'll visit closer to around your lunch break. And then we cant talk more then. " It really was awkward standing around and just making sure he was out of the way. He wanted to get stronger, grow taller, and actually be useful to someone. Hopefully that would happen soon.
After the mirror was loaded up, Greg closed the back of the truck, returning to the drivers side, getting in to give Isha time to say goodbye.
"Ah thank you, I appreciate it." The pause here was a little uncomfortable too, it didn't sound like a goodbye, was he finished..? No, he continued to talk, to which Isha smiled, taking Emry's hand between both of his own.
"That's all we can try do to. If you give me a little time, maybe I can become some as well. Maybe not as strong and powerful as yours, but I sure as heck can try my best." He let go of Emry's hand, heading towards the front of the truck.
"I really look forward to hearing from you soon, Emry. See you later. " With just a simple, small wave, he was gone, and the red truck left down the street. Isha really hoped the phone call would come soon.

"See you later. I'll be in touch." Even if he weren't planning to visit the kid's home soon, Emry was fairly certain he would see Isha again. As he waved the exuberant young customer and his driver off, Emry felt a slight pang of regret that he would be leaving this planet as soon the Dark Moon Court's plans reached fruition. He would have to work harder, he decided, to fix what he could of society and the environment, even if that meant knocking a few heads together. He only hoped he had enough time to make sure he was leaving Earth a better place for kids like Isha. Cooro Cooro Thanks again for the RP! I apologize for Emry's tirades. XD
