Zecora gave the male a quizzical look, he was staring right where she was, did he really see nothing? They had no weapons or anything to fend off whatever was watching them though, Zecora had no choice but to move to the tree as quickly as possible and cling to Enki. "Quickly please!" Zecora said fearfully, she did not want to know what was in that bush, but it was too late. A blur of a beast jumped out of the bush, running towards them to try and prevent their escape. "Enki!" Zecora shouted, closing her eyes tightly.

Well so much for staying relaxed. As soon as Enki felt her weight around his neck he made a dash for it up tree, trying to move as fast as he could up though he was slowed by the extra weight of the female. He didn't look back to see what was their, he needed to get the vines. He stopped on the branch he had been working on before as the hammock was right there as well. "Zecora, move out on the hammock and stay there. Don't move." He said as he looked down to the ground, waiting for her to let go of him and move to the safety of the hammock.

Zecora had her eyes shut the entire time Enki worked to carry her up into the tree. She had to finally open them when the male asked her to move into the hammock. Zecora didn't look around to see where the creature was now, she focused on the hammock and quickly moved into it. "I am most grateful, Enki," Zecora's voice was now in a whisper, although it did no good anyways, the creature knew where they were. "What now?" She asked of him as she clung to the vines and scooted over to give him space to get in if he needed to.

"Gotta get rid of it." He replied as he move to their bags, taking out the flint and tinder once again and retrieving the bandana from his own bag. He looked around the tree for a moment before climbing up a little farther, finding a suitable branch and fiddling with it for a few moment before snapping it off. He felt bad for the tree but it had to be done. "Zecora don't leave there no matter what happens." He said again before wrapping the bandana around one of the ends of his stick and then lighting it with the flint and tinder to make a touch of sorts. He waited to make sure the fire was big enough before dropping back down to the ground. "Hey! You...Bad...Kitty...thing....Over here!" He slowly moved away from the tree Zecora was in, keeping his eyes locked with the creature's and holding out the lit touch to keep distance between him and whatever it was.

"Enki what are you doing?" Zecora said with wide eyes, she thought maybe they would just hang out here and wait for it to lose interest... assuming it couldn't climb trees either. The more Enki moved around, the more Zecora began to worry that he was going to do something crazy. And then he jumped. "Enki, you crazy male!" Zecora whispered it, but there was an urgency in her voice. What on Telrunya was he doing. If he thought he could outrun the creature, especially in this dense forest. He had told her to stay in the tree, and Zecora was fighting the urge to jump down there. "Come back..."

"Go on. GET OUT OF HERE!" The male raised his voice loudly as he swung the torch at the beast. If Enki could read Zecora's mind, he would have agreed with her. This was crazy. Heck if he was thinking straight he would see it was crazy...But he wasn't thinking nor could he read minds. All he knew was they were both in danger and this thing needed to leave. He started to flapped his wings, really doing anything to make this beast go away. He just hoped it was working or he was going to be in real trouble in a moment.

Zecora couldn't just sit up in the tree and watch as her friend was possibly eaten. It didn't look good for Enki, and Enki was in no position to outrun the beast now. Zecora moved towards the bags as quickly as possible, searching through both of them. She quickly grabbed both shovels and then returned to the edge of the hammock where she hovered above Enki and the animal. The faun chucked both of the shovels straight at the beast's head, hoping to knock it out, and with any luck... possibly kill it. It wasn't something Zecora wanted to do, but it seemed it might be the necessary thing for the survival of Enki, and maybe even her.

The enchantment that prevented Enki from flying was growing weaker by the second. He'd soon be able to fly, however no booming voice would tell him this, he'd need to discover on his own. Although his ability to fly will return, he'd not be able to carry the weight of a fauny with his wings.
On the side of the tree facing the jungle, away from the clearing are several iron-headed spears stuck in the bark. They're stuck in a way that looks like someone was using them as a ladder. What on the ground could the stranger have been trying to get away from. What's at the top of that tree?
((At the top of the tree is a hut, similar to the ones in Big Mac and Rarity's RP. There are many small, abandonded tree-top villages in Loka Nei, and Zecora and Enki are at the base of a tree containing one of the huts. Each tree hut us connected via a rope bridge, and each hut contains remnants of family life from hundreds of years ago.
The difference with this village is the trees produce nuts. Nuts that attract monkeys.))

Enki's eyes widened as the two shovels hit the ground causing the creature to hiss at him before turning around and heading off. Seemed it had had enough with all the fire and throwing things. Enki let out a sigh. Seemed they wouldn't be the easy meal it had hoped for.
Enki used the torch to look around. Seemed the fire had gone out during the confusion. Great. So much for that. Seemed he needed lessons in fire lighting. He'd work on that when it wasn't so dangerous. He moved over to the shovels and picked them up, they still needed this after all. Suddenly the hammock seemed too low in his mind. They should be higher up.
First thing was first, he looked up to here Zecora was. "Are you ok?"

Her aim, and gravity, were unfortunately unkind and Zecora completely missed the beast, but at least it was enough to scare it off. The faun hoped that he didn't return, although she was a little disappointed that he wasn't dead. They still hadn't found any extra food and a fresh kill would have resolved that problem, however morbid it might have been. "Of course, Enki, you are a brave warrior. You are also crazy." She gave him a smile, the lighthearted comment was something she needed because she had been so frightened for her friend. "You should come up here." Now that they were for the moment, safe, Zecora leaned back into the hammock and relaxed, staring up at the dark canopy of the jungle.

Enki couldn't help up laugh. "Ya...That was crazy....I don't know what I was thinking." He moved back to the tree to climb it when the light from the flame seemed to reflex off of something. He canted his head and moved closer to the tree, noting the spears. "What the..." He was baffled. Spears? They sorta looked like stairs. This was odd. What...What had happened? A rush of fear traveled through Enki, who would be so panicked when they have a weapon? This was bad. The ground was seeming less and less safe by the moment. He looked up into the treetops. Someone was trying to get up here, but for what reason? Now he was curious as well. He bit onto his torch before starting to climb back to Zecora., handing her the shovels as he got to her. "Stay here for a moment. I want to check something out." He said with his torch up hand and like a monkey, he was off scaling the heights of the tree.

Zecora shook her head, closing her eyes in rest. "You was not tinking!" she said with a laugh. They needed to laugh about this, to take the edge off. Laughter was the best medicine. Zecora's eyes shot open and she sat straight off as Enki started going off about something. "What is it?" Zecora asked, leaning over the edge of the hammock to see where Enki had gone off to. She didn't like the idea of him wandering while it was night, especially now that the fire was almost out. "Enki..." she said almost sternly, but all out of concern.

Enki was already zooming up the tree when Zecora said his name, disappearing into the leaves above them. The male was gone for some time before he practically fell out from the top of tree. using his wings to glide to the female as he got closer to her. "Come on, over here. You need to see this. You need to come to the top of the tree." The was excitement and almost relief in his voice. He couldn't tell her what was up there...He needed to show her. This was going to solve a lot of their problems.

Zecora was stuck in the hammock fretting over Enki while he had disappeared. She didn't normally worry so much, but all of the events combined had her more on edge than normal. It wasn't just her life at stake either, it was Enki's too, and she was quickly growing to care about her new friend. She finally breathed when she heard his voice... and it sounded... hopeful? Zecora's heart fluttered with hope. But how was she supposed to get up into the tree? "What is it, Enki?" Zecora asked as she crooned her head around watching him glide down towards her. "How will I get up-dere?"

"Same as before only..." He swung around the tree and pulled down some more vines before sitting on his branch. He filled around with them for a bit before it became clear he was making a sorta harness for her. "So your arms don't get tired you know? It's a long climb up...But it's worth it. Trust me." Enki was clearly renewed by what he had found....Though he still wasn't giving her any hints. "I'll do the climbing, don't worry. You just relax and hold on."
