He started, then cringed. "I feel like that rumor wouldn't do anything but damage people's opinion of your taste and make me look better than I deserve," he said flatly. "Although I can't help but notice that despite your assertion that everyone here is preoccupied with matters of life and death that everyone's keeping everyone else's bed warm." He said this with audible disgust. Clearly Taym had strong opinions about the whole intra-Island romance situation, and they weren't positive ones.

She laughed at his start, watching his body flinch.
"I think you worry too much about other's opinions of you, but if I did spread a rumor around like that, I would have evidence to back it up." She said easily, "It wouldn't be a rumor, crazy wild jungle sex would've happened."
She waited.
"Not that I don't doubt your skills and stubbornness to resist my irresistible charm." She shrugged, thinking of Tuck. She had only slept with two people in her life, and one was on the Island. Not that it did her any good, but it would always be a fond memory.
"I like others. I like others body heat. If I had any less respect for you, although I just know you, I would be in your personal space in a second." She looked over at him, "Regardless of what you think Princess, I'm not always about the outside. Sometimes the inside is far more appealing." She tucked her hands together.
"You don't want to find love in your shorter life span on the Island Taym?"

His jaw was working again in silent irritation. When he answered her it was with a voice that was too level: "They hired me to work. They hired me to make myself useful. I'm here to do what I can do until they feed me to the wolves, possibly literally. And even if that wasn't the case, we're all literally sharing a desert island. You ever heard the expression 'don't s**t where you eat?'" He snorted. "As far as invading my personal space goes, don't make any assumptions about how welcome you'd be there, either." Ouch.

She looked over at him.
"I came to find my twin. I didn't come for anything else than that." She answered back. "But now that I am stuck here after that, I have to live my life like I would before. Except with my life on the line every time I go out for a mission."
She cringed but didn't stop walking to him.
"Ouch Princess, The rejection is killing me here." She chuckled a little, "I'm not really your type am I?" She looked over at him.
"When I came to the Island, I didn't think of anyone but myself. I used everyone I met to find my twin, who came here first and was still sleeping in a pod. I didn't care about feelings, or who I could hurt. I just used." She rested her hands in her coat. "I am pretty sure I hurt people a lot. And when I couldn't have Alaska, I found the next best thing to deal with what I didn't have until she came back." She looked over at Taym. "I've insulted you in some way, I'm sorry." She apologized again.

Taym telling himself not to return female attention was like telling a tomcat not to piss in the neighbor's yard. It went against the most fundamental aspects of his character and he was, as a result, irritated. This was amplified considerably by Fiona's disapproval prowling around inside his head, as it was doing with more and more frequency of late. He closed his eyes for a few steps, attempting to compose himself. "I'm sorry about your sister," he said, and this, at least, he could actually empathize with. He hesitated. "There are probably better ways to distract yourself," he pointed out drily.

She shrugged, thinking of it now.
"She left to be free, two years before I even went to go look for her." Nevada detached herself, for the sake of talking to him. "We had a overbearing father, who favored her more. So she had pressures. She just wanted to live, we were kids. 16? She left a note and disappeared from my life."
"It was a half of me that I was dependent on. So when she left, all that was left for my side was a abandoned girl with a father who turned all that negative energy on. Trying to mold me into the older twin I wasn't. It took two years to free myself, but the only goal I could give myself was to find Alaska."
She tightened her hands in her coat. "I know you didn't ask for a life story or anything. I don't expect you to give me yours." She looked over at him, "Everything I do now is given without the ideal that it must be returned. Making up for all I took I guess."
She laughed and looked away.
"Before the Island, My twin and I were obsessed with sleeping beauty. It was our favorite DISNEY fairytale. You know, the ones with the happier endings, not the actual terrible story." She grinned now, thinking of her twin and their small book. "We always wanted a prince charming to come along and sweep us off our feet."
Another chuckle escaped.
"Well now a days, It's disney movies on repeat with my roommate, sparring, paperwork and trainings. And daydreams about handsome prince charmings to come along."

He was silent for a long time after her spiel--maybe he hadn't been listening, not really--and when he answered his voice was tight and tired and vaguely disgusted. "Everyone here is so ******** young," he said. Not that he was any older, but maybe it wasn't chronology he was referring to here.

"Yes. Do you mean physically or mentally? Because I plead yes to both." She looked away, "I'd like to hold on to some of my childish tendencies, because again, one day this job is going to kill me. And I don't want to die a grumpy angry girl. Just one that enjoyed what time she had left."
Morbid thoughts.
"Do you want me to leave you alone Old one? Let you rest some more?" She blinked innocently.Rejam forgetting about me its cool QQ

Old One felt more accurate than Handsome, at least, even if it wasn't any more true. Sometimes Taym remembered suddenly that he wasn't even midway through his twenties and it never failed to startle him. "Absence makes the heart grow fonder, sweetheart," he said. He paused, hands in his pockets, and gave her a final glance. "I'm sure you'll like me better when I'm further away." So that was a yes.

"Princess, I'm already very fond of you." She shrugged, "And I am sure I will be kept up with thoughts of just what kind of man you are, but since you have stated that fondness comes from absence." She moved in front of him, tapping her fingers to her lips and holding them up in a salute.
"Hope you think about me lots Handsome." She blew him a kiss before heading away. And regardless of what he thought, she did walk away wondering how to befriend the very rugged and somewhat feral man.
