Hel thought about that for a moment. “…Ya. Because it is a lot of fun and makes for good memories when I look back on it.” The reaper then thought about her offer again. She honestly wasn’t sure what the interweb would really do for her…but hey, it was worth a try.

“Alright.” Hel consented with a nod.

"Mmm, if you say so," Lizzy wasn't quite convinced, but if Hel found it fun then... Good for her?

Fast forward a few minutes later, and they were in her room. After stuffing the tubs of eye scream into the fridge, she turned her laptop on, and did a search on 'How to repair a broken reaper weapon' using Grugle. Clicking on the first website, she was directed to a forum where someone had asked the same question.

The suggestions provided were not promising at all.

'Magic glue????'
'my grand uncle broke his once and used duct tape lol'
'idk u jackin noob how u break ur weapon'
'call me 1927766291 and ill tell u ghouls only!!'
'Think you could try going to a witch? They have magic for all sorts of things. Sorry I can't be more help!'
'i agree with UpUrs211 wat a noob....'
'did you try desummoning and summoning it again?'

Once in Lizzy’s room…Hel untied her little apron and ended up using it as a make shift knapsack to stow the pieces of her weapon in.

As the demoness started up her laptop and pulled up Gruegle though, Hel was leaning over her shoulder, and had her cheek pressed against Lizzy’s in an effort to stare at the screen better. “…Wha?” She squinted at all the messages.

‘if u don’t forward this message to 25 other reapers, all your scarelings’ weapons will be broke 2!’
‘ur doomed!’
‘Try putting it under ur pillow’

The ridiculousness went on and on.

Hel grimaced, and pointed at the screen name of the person who originally posted it, smudging her finger on the screen. “I do not even know if this really happened or if this reaper is just trying to get attention!” She let out an aggravated sigh. “No one is taking that seriously!”

Lizzy chuckled nervously, and promptly pushed her laptop screen down. That ‘if u don’t forward this message to 25 other reapers, all your scarelings’ weapons will be broke 2!’ message was really disconcerting. Should she pretend she didn't see it? Would that work?

"I guess we have two options now... Library, or a professor," She turned to Hel, tapping a finger against the top of her laptop, "Although I'm not sure which professor to go to..."

“Uuuuuuugh.” The last two options weren’t any better. Either one of them.

Hel rubbed a hand over her face. “If a professor was to be asked…I think Malcolm would be the best bet, as he is a reaper and does care about the students…but…” Hel’s brows furrowed. “Library. Now.”

"To the library!"

And then they were at the library.

"Are you going in too, or standing outside?" Lizzy asked, peeking into the library, "The coast seems clear..."

“I am staying out here. If I see Hayden, I am going to punch his ******** face in, and if Avery sees me, I might get detention. Again.” She waved a hand at Lizzy.

“…But if you do not find anything…do not be disappointed.” Hel heaved a sigh. “I am not expecting anything.”

Lizzy nodded, and was about to warn Hel against punching school faculty when she realized that the reaper was probably not going to heed her warning. With a small sigh of resignation, she slipped into the library, heading straight towards the 'Reaper Lore' section.

It was about 15 minutes before she reappeared again, her eyephone in hand.

"There weren't any librarians around so I couldn't check the book out," She explained, waving her eyephone around in the air, "So I took photos of some important things..."

Opening up one of the photos, she zoomed into it so that the words were more legible before reading from the screen, "Here we go! While reaper weapons are not prone to breaking, it is not impossible or uncommon for them to do so as they can break from being exposed to a large force - such as a spell gone wrong. Since weapons are also made from Fear and are an extension of the reaper, it just takes time for it to fix itself. A broken weapon will not remain broken, except in very rare cases."

It was a good assumption, Lizzy, a very good assumption indeed.

While the demoness was in the library, Hel took to leaning against the wall with her arms crossed, her folded apron in one hand. She tapped her foot idly, and just got lost in thought while she waited for Lizzy. It was the same question over and over in her head. What did a broken weapon mean? She couldn’t come up with any answers, and her thoughts also couldn’t help but drift to her own well being. Was she going to end up cracked and shattered too? Was the weapon just the prelude? Hel didn’t let these heavy thoughts run off with her…but she wasn’t going to dismiss them and ignore them either.

After all, anything was possible.

Anything.

The reaper pushed off of the wall once Lizzy reappeared, and was a bit anxious, actually, to see if she found anything. She invaded the ghoul’s space once more, and leaned in to stare at the eyePhone screen, even as Lizzy read out loud. She snorted loudly at the ‘large force’ bit. Oh ya…she had a run in with a large force alright…but her weapon had withstood even larger! Like Red when she was consumed by Insanity…

“…Ah.” That was all Hel said for a moment. “…So…I will have to wait and see then, is what that information suggests.” ********. Hel didn’t like waiting to see.

"Yes," She replied sheepishly; it was probably bad news for Hel, since in her memory of the reaper, Lizzy had never known her to be a patient soul, "But at least it had happened to other reapers before, if it's in a book! And it doesn't say anything about there being side effects or anything... Just that you'll be weaponless for a while."

A pause, and she fidgeted, playing with her hair, "Speaking of side effects... Um... You don't think I really need to forward that message to 25 other reapers, right?"

Hel wasn’t assured, but really, what else could she do? The reaper heaved an exasperated sigh and glanced down at the satchel containing her weapon. Her gaze shot back up to Lizzy once the demoness spoke up again, and Hel couldn’t help but give her an incredulous look.

She stared at her for a long while.

Really?” She finally asked, the idea that Lizzy even believed that was ridiculous. “Neh, Lizzy? An a*****e being a troll on a stupid interweb site, with the safety of a screen and distance between that person and others, doest not count as a powerful force which might break a weapon.”

Duh.

"Yes, really," Lizzy replied, her cheeks flushed slightly pink, "I was just wondering if it was some kind of a word or text curse... You never know nowadays, with magic advancing at the pace it's going."

She paused momentarily, "I guess if you think it's a troll though... Probably me thinking too much." Bad habit of hers, it seems, "To help time pass by a little quicker... Why don't we go get some crepes? I know this place that sells both sweet and savory crepes..."

Hel just rolled her eyes, and dismissed the idea of that stupid thing being a word curse. Though really, out of all the reapers Lizzy could ask, Hel probably wasn’t the most qualified, because out of most reapers, Hel was the least magically inclined. “Ya. It is you thinking too much.” She dismissed. “Besides, that is if your scarelings are reapers, anyways, BUT that message means nothing.”

At Lizzy’s offer, Hel considered it for a moment before she nodded. “Eh…alright! Not like I have something else to do right this moment anyways…”

She will never marry a reaper. Or have scarelings with a reaper. Yes, that second one sounds better.

"I think you'll like it," She smiled, taking a few steps away from the library, "It's the crispy sort of crepe, and all sorts of delicious~"

Then they had crepe.
