Experience had given her a first hand lesson on just how horrible waiting could be, so she knew how he felt. It had her pursing her lips, attention raising from his face to drifted towards the still open door.
"So how about we don't just sit here and wait." A distraction, something to take their minds off the fact that s**t had hit the fan, and they didn't know what was going to happen. "The power is out for who knows how long, and if their is something like a back up generator it'll be used for essentials only." She was working through a line of logic. "I'm assuming things like refrigerators won't be on that list, which would mean very soon or food supplies will be rationed and not at all up to the standard that we've grown accustomed to." The food here wasn't great, but it was better then what she could only imagine they would have to stomach down if the power issue didn't get solved within a couple days.
Once upon a time her dad had taken her and Astrid camping, and for fun they'd brought along MREs for food. They'd been interesting, and fun in a novel sort of way, but they hadn't really been tasty. Deus being a military sort of operation, that's where her mind went to.
