"Is that... a backpack?" Sinclair squinted. The only reason he even noticed it without his glasses was because of its garishly bright color against the otherwise dreary landscape. "Well... ignoring the obviously suspicious placement... let's call this good fortune, hm?"
The bag had a small supply of still usable food. Sinclair fed it to his horse immediately before risking it spoiling.
