"Oh." Well, what more could she really say, she wasn't phased by the goddess speaking to her, it was like her own, she would speak when she had her own 10 cents to put in. There was no telling how much longer she had as herself. She supposed this was as good a place as any to spend it. The Panthoen was a paradise compared to the borderlands. She took the pastry as it was handed to her and breathed in the delicious scent.
"My goddess has a rather large family, they're all just waiting for her to take me over." It was almost overwhelming sometimes, though she would give her self over sooner if she could.

"Eesh. That sounds a little harsh." He would take his own pastry and sneak a bite from it. Then he would move to the side so that they could sit on the bench there and talk, hopefully without being knocked over by anything.

At least no one seemed truly eager for Nuhava to take over. Lan in particular was happy that she was here, yes, but he'd never once really felt like he was out of place or unwanted.

"My sister is an host too... And she's been one for much longer than I have. So, in theory..." He winced. In theory she'd go before he did. Keme was certainly more and more to the forefront the more time passed. "Im not exactly looking forward to that. I really have no idea what happen when... Well. When they take us. I've seen a god get stronger, but not an host be taken over." Even then, he had not even been there when it happened to Valor - he only knew what Vael had told him.

"You say that as if I knew what happened." In truth, neither did she. She had never done this either, after. "But I wager it depends on individuals once again. And the relationship in between god and host. I do believe it is something where you simply know what to do when it is time to do it."

Somewhat fascinating, though she would have preferred to be an outside observer and not directly involved.

"They're a bit desperate, something to do with the other Underworld god not being around. There's a backlog in the spirit world."

That might be over simplifying things.

"That's harsh about your sister, though I suppose you're going through it together. I left my family behind, they probably think I'm dead or captured. it's better, they wouldn't understand all this."

"We have not met another host yet. We are staying with my brother, the Spirit Guide and his wife, Number, both are fully reborn and their children. Oh and there is my nephew, Lament." But no hosts or anyone lower on the chain of rebirth really. She really needed to get out more.

Leaving her family behind ? Yeah... That was harsh too. "Im sorry."

Some of the names she spoke of were indeed familiar. Ankou and Akakios he had both met, though he would wisely leave out the fact that he liked to bone his sister a little to much for his tastes.

"There's a few of us around right now... My sister, Asedri. She has Keme, the goddess of Mystery. There's Ekita, with Shen. And Toshiro with Takeru. They're both dragon kings."

"Dragon Kings." That rang a bell, powerful gods close to Harmodius himself. She was glad to hear that so many were in existance. "I think i remember them." Ish. "Sometimes it's hard to tell what is a real memory and what isn't."

Alva was glad to hear there were so many others too, it meant she was by no means alone, and not only that more gods could only be a good thing, couldn't it. The world needed them, mortals needed them.

"Im not really sure what they are, beside, you know, dragons. Seems pretty important, too." Now however, he was more interested with eating his pastry before the whipped cream melted off the sides.

Priorities !

"Dragon kings..." It would take a moment for Nuhava to rummage though her mind and see if she could recall anything. "There were... nine of them, I believe ?" She was also proving the fact that she had learned to talk about her host's near constant snacking quite well. "They are the Twin Crown's personal servants, and second only to he and the empress in power... Though I might be wrong."

"Yes, yes I remember now." Val could almost see them. Magnificent gods they were, the foundations of the Pantheon. "Being of the Underworld I doubt I spent too much time in the world above, but I have a shadow of a memory. I am sure I would have entertained them in my Halls."

The goddess paused to allow Alva to munch on the beaver tail. It tasted pretty good.
Alva wasn't sure she liked the thought of dragons, those they did have legends about. How they burned villages and stole children.

"Hm." Perhaps so, though it was hard for him to visualize the underworld as a real place. He wondered what it must have looked like. Was it an eternal night without day ?

Once he was done eating, the paper was crumbled up and tossed into the nearby trash bin. "They seem okay enough to me. I haven't talked to Shen or Takeru much, mostly Xun."

"Xun I've heard of." She replied, of course mostly in passing around the apartment. It seemed that Ankou knew a lot of people.
"I never thought of there being gods for things like strength, like numbers I suppose and funeral and lament. My people just covered the basics, war, healing, death, life, that kind of thing."
PostPosted: Tue Aug 20, 2013 8:31 pm

"He's really... strange. You can really tell he's a dragon." What with the wings and the claws and the scales. "He's pretty nice, though. Just kinds of startles you the first time you see him."

Graff could understand what Alva was saying, kind of. "I didn't think gods existed until I came here. Even when Mystery took me in, I didn't believe it for a long time. On Earth we have a religion of one god... One religion among many others. But I didn't believe in that, and my parents didn't either."

Hmm... Which Number was it that Alva talked about ? Hmm. This could potentially be quite interesting. She remembered little, but the proof had been in the cards, so the speak. She remembered little, but perhaps she had once been involved with one of them.

"If it exist, there was likely a god who ruled it, once upon a time." Of course she would add her own two cents to that ! "There are things are are harder for most mortals to deny, of course. Things they can see, things they can feel. Things that affect them. Life. Death. The wind, the sun, the waters, the earth under their feet. These are the cornerstones of all existence, and for good reason."

She would look at Alva with now very bright green eyes and smile. "But think deeper. Is Death not aided by Funerals to calm the dead, and Laments of grief to soothe the living ?"

"Numbers gave way to order. If you can count something, you can keep track of it, structure it, define it. You can, in a way, control it. Numbers gave structure to something that otherwise might not be understood by any god but one - Time. A child's first step. The second book to the left. The angle a wall stands at is usually 90 degrees. Come meet me at nine in the morning. Number eight is The Strength. Thirteen is considered unlucky by the humans of Earth, and many will go to great lengths to avoid it. Numbers are everywhere you look, and being able to count and order things has allowed many animals to raise above what once were. Should not someone watch over that power ?"

"And in every settlement, in every groups, there are those who are more determined than others. Those who strike above and beyond. Does it not make sense that something inspired them ? That there is something different in them, be they born with it or forged in such a way by Fate ? But, ah, I seem to have gotten carried away." Nuhava stated this much, but did not seem truly apologetic. "It is an interesting subject to ponder, however."

"Did you really have to get her started ? Now she'll never shut up." Poor Graff had been rather resigned to their fate the moment he had been pushed away.

"Oh, hush. If we had it your way you would be stuffing your face until someone needed to roll you back to the pantheon."

It was easy to see that they were poking fun at each other. Neither of them sounded truly upset.

"I could not have put that better myself." Valyrmora was impressed. "The imagination of mortals of endless, it is the ones that are percieved small that are often the most influential. Strength is vital to survival. Even so we share common followers. I watch over the battle fallen, among others, there is strength in them, strength any that fight for survival even if they do not win in the end."

"I had never thought of it like that before." Alva replied, she was having an eye opening experience here, there was always something new to learn and it made her realise what a sheltered life she had led. "I suppose it would be narrow minded to just believe one god could cover everything on his own.

"Or her own."

"yeah, or her own."

"There are always things that cannot be overcome... And it is not always about winning." Especially for mortals. They could be cunning, determined, and careful. But to escape death without outside intervention was quite impossible. If a battle did not claim them, then eventually old age or illness would.

But if one death saved a whole city, then was it not winning, it way ? Though, honestly, the noble sacrifices were more of Lan's influence than her own. "I feel better then, knowing you await them on the other side." She did mean it - she could not claim to understand death, and to know her heroes were cared for after she could not see to it herself was comforting.

When the control fell back on him again, he shook his head a bit. It was kind of annoying when she snatched and let him go so quickly like that. At least she had the good sense not to do so while walking. He would probably fall on his face otherwise. "Well, when you think about it, it kind of happened ? If all the gods but the Twin Crown itself died..."

"Perhaps win was not the correct word." She admitted, then looked to Graff and smiled. "Well, faded, though I suppose it is essentially the same thing. And in their weakness mortals wish to have us back again, to give them strength. Interesting isn't it."
PostPosted: Sat Aug 24, 2013 10:46 am

"Perhaps not, but I know what you meant." She understood what Underworld had meant, and that was the important part, honestly.

Yes, put that way that was slightly ironic. "Maybe it didn't look like they needed gods back then... And then when they were all gone, they realized things weren't always better." Azeroth was likely a nice example of that.

"That just about sums things up." Valyrmora replied with a smile "Faith is an incredibly powerful thing, something both mortals and gods take for granted, gods moreso perhaps. It's easy to be full of your own self importance when you have people bowing at your feet. You forget who made you that powerful."
