"We could go look for him if he doesn't turn up. After. I mean, if he doesn't he might've got into some trouble on his own." Keep digging, that hole's not deep enough yet.
The appearance of someone else saved him from talking himself further into a corner of awkward. "Thanks," he said to the newcomer, relieved, and instead of saying anything else, he went for the spider again, rather ineffectively.

Iron's expression dropped at the suggestion that Reap may also be hurt and in need of help somewhere.
"I...dunno, he- he's strong and all, even if- if we don't make it-"
The third figure gave him a surge of hope, but it was nobody he recognized. Right? Lately, everything was kind of blurring over. Maybe they'd met before. The spider knocked him into a wall.

He lashed the whip out and around one of the spider's legs; the barbs dug into the joint, and the lowest part of the thing's leg came off with a yank. The spider shrilled and swatted him sideways into a pile of rubble.

"You could say that," Iron said, gritting his teeth and peeling himself from the wall. The leg slammed into him again, and he felt himself being knocked almost all the way apart. Everything was fuzzy around the edges. Everything he had, he was using to hold on to himself.
Through the rain, there was another figure.
And even though his eyes were coming apart, he knew the shape.
"Reap," he said, grateful.

Reap eyed Iron again and found himself annoyed at how distressed he was seeing the other man wavering and coming slowly apart. He didn't show it though, shrugging and stabbing at the spider another time without so much as a word of reply to him.

He paused briefly, eying two new arrivals. One of them pangs a hint of familiarity...
Only in his moment of weakness, did the monster spider slam in to him. In that one attack, Mire felt his heart ache brightly. His red heart shined... before it went out.
Only oddly... he wasn't dead? He felt himself sitting up, blinking.
"Why am i not dead." He asked no one in particular.

Rojand looked from Reap to Iron and felt suddenly as though he was intruding. As though he'd done something, or that this was somehow his fault. "Glad you're okay," he said, subdued, and went over to see if the other guy who'd gotten knocked down was all right.

His butt was still firmly planted on the ground, blinking around and only watching as the muscular greyling finished off the spider monster.
