Rarity hurried forward, daintily and fashionable of course, towards the large gathering of Pae that were also apparently going on this.. Nature hike, as they called it. Truthfully, she wouldn't be caught dead out here where there was ample chances of mud and bugs and who knows what else. Which is why she came prepared with her own things. Things of which... she ''let' Big Mac carry.

"Oh Big Mac, darling, do hurry! I don't want to be laaaaaatteee!" she called out to her traveling companion, her voice musical as she drew out the last word in her sentence. She had heard there was going to be a treasure hunt, the only reason she was here. She wasn't going to let the possibility of finding gems pass her by. "Oh, Big Mac where did you get too." she sighed softly but smiled and shook her head.

She glanced around at all who had come. "Great heavens, Princess Celestia!" she gasped softly before her eyes caught sight of someone else she knew. "Applebloom?!!" she near about shouted. "What is that silly filly doing, it could be dangerous out there! Oh Sweetie Belle better not be out here somewhere or I'll have her tail...." she gasped before a pack was shoved in her direction by a fairy. "Oh.. whats this? Are there gems inside?!!" she cooed in delight before opening the pack to find.... no gems. Just a bunch of random stuff. "Oh hay fries..." she said in disappointment and sulking a bit, clutching to the pack like it was some stuffed animal that would spit out diamonds the harder she clung to it.

Finishing poking through the items in the pack and judging them satisfactory for such a wilderness venture, Jarek had begun packing the supplies away again when the lupine pair burst into the area with a startling howl. Eyebrows raised, he looked towards the source of the disturbance, muttering, "...good grief..." Okay, the vigor of youth could be difficult to contain, but was that any way to make an entrance?

Perhaps.

Though, some Pae seemed on edge for some reason already. Sure, learning to survive in the wilderness was serious, and such a venture was not to be taken lightly...but was it truly so frightening, the unknown? He didn't think so, but that's why he was here; to experience and see and learn. Besides, they had guides and supplies, it wasn't like a real emergency. It helped one prepare for such though.

Standing out a bit from the rest, whether due to her brilliant coloring or simply the honest discomfort he saw in her expression, one individual had captured his attention. He frowned, feeling a slight tug to do something other than just stand here. She seemed to be avoiding everyone else' gazes, but...was she bothered by the others, or by the trip that lay ahead. Perhaps, saying something would do more good than harm, he hoped.

Shouldering his re-assembled pack, Jarek crossed to the bright white...was she a Faun? He wasn't sure. It didn't matter though. She was a woman and she was upset. It was obvious, despite how she tried to cover for it. He neared, but kept a comfortable distance, seeking her eyes before he spoke. "Ma'am? Are you alright? Not worried about the trek, I hope?" he inquired with a warm smile.

The princess had been so focused on her breathing that she had been unaware of the other pae coming closer to her, something she would have normally noticed in an instant. Her eyes quickly glanced up at him at the sound of his voice, was she really distancing herself so much to be so unaware? How shameful. Smiling lightly, she shook her head before addressing him. "Yes, sir, I assure you that I am quite alright." Looking to him, she made note of his very blue body and translucent wings, those of a fae.

As well as the lack of horrific images.

Perhaps if she busied herself speaking to one of this kind, she could avoid the others who provoked her mind into fantastic fantasies of blood. "Pleasant even. Please forgive me if I have worried you in some way." Standing up, the bag remaining by her hooves, she bowed her head lightly, her hand on her chest. "I am Celestia," she left out the formalities, as they no longer applied here, and lifted her head, "By what may I call you, sir?"

User ImageEtana stretched, she was excited for this hike through nature. Maybe it would be a chance to meet new pae. Upon being handed a rather full backpack, she blinked, looking at it. What.. What was she supposed to do with this? Well, it had two straps and it looked like it went on her back maybe? Or was it for her front?

The angel tilted her head, slipping her arms through the straps so the backpack was sitting on the front of her chest. That didn't feel right. She laughed, finally looking around to see if anyone else knew what to do with these things.

That's when she saw another pae putting it on their back. Okay, so it was supposed to go behind her. She could bet that was going to feel just as weird. She shrugged, changing it over to the other side. Well, at least it didn't feel as weird as she thought it was going to.

Around sundown... She wondered how far they were going to be walking.

Big Mac wasn't too far behind Rarity and was effortlessly carrying a large bag of her things. He was only trailing behind a little bit due to one reason, and one reason alone. There was a murmur of whispers and rumors that his dear little sister, Applebloom, was going to be going along on this venture too. He didn't want to believe it. A little faunie like herself going off by herself on a strange and possibly dangerous journey... by herself?!

Big Mac, naturally, wouldn't allow her to do such a thing. However, he wasn't able to track her down and approach her to ask if she was actually going before the event. So when Rarity asked him to come along with her, he didn't refuse.

There were a few Pae mingling about at the meeting area that he recognized. Some of them were fellow Faunies. Some Fauns. He of course recognized Princess Celestia and Zecora and he let out a bit of a sigh of relief... at least, until he spotted a rather familiar big bow as she was apparently preoccupied with her pack of supplies. He frowned a bit and started marching over towards his littlest sister with a look of determination, but a Fairy interrupted him by abruptly flying to a halt right in front of him to thrust a pack at his face.

Big Mac blinked and took the pack, only now noticing that everyone was getting these packs and made no real effort to start digging through his. By the looks of everyone else's, they held supplies for their trip and everyone seemed to sport identical goods. He then sighed and shook his head. It would be pointless at this point to fuss at the youngin'. They were too far from the farm to head back now, so he saved his breath. He'd just have to keep his eyes on her to make sure she didn't get into any sort of trouble...

Without much of a word, he sighed and turned, walking over towards Rarity and slinging his pack over his other shoulder. His head tilted slightly as she seemed disappointed by the contents of her pack. Was he mistaken in believing they were identical after all?

"Is there somethin' the matter, Miss Rarity?" he asked with a concerned expression.

Miela had woefully kept far too much to herself since arriving on Telrunya with Princesses Celestia and Luna and the rest of the Faunies. Still grieving for her lost homeland, she'd had the Tree Shaper make her an apartment in the Tree and then she'd stayed there for a long, long time, only emerging for meals, and even then she sat by herself and didn't talk to anyone. She'd even backed out of the Faun alliance ritual, and she'd felt terrible about it, but she hadn't been really ready to take that step yet.

But one had to be finished grieving sometime. Miela heard about this jungle expedition and decided to go. It would give her a chance to explore her new homeland Maybe by seeing more of it it would become more real for her, and she could inscribe it on her heart the way she had Equestria. Maybe she'd meet new Pae and love them the way she loved the Faunies.

As she gives her name to the fairy who was checking everyone in, she's given a backpack. She goes through it, noting its contents. It seemed to be a survival kit of sorts...incase she was separated from the group, perhaps? She shivers. That would be the worst. But the bandana makes her smile, since she'd already brought her characteristic green checked bandana. This one is orange with a white paisley print, and she ties it around her hair.

User Image A hike through the forest full of adventure and unknown? How fun! The moment he got a hold on the brochure, the faun had been hooked. It was a chance for him to progress even further in his survivalist skills, even more so than his recent trip to the area. It had been yet another long trip to get here, but this time he was sure to have company...another thing he absolutely loved. And just look at all the pae! As he trotted to the large group, his silver eyes were large in excitement. There were faun but...not faun. Antlerless, stranged hooved creatures. And demonics, like his long lost brother. And two other strange winged pae. Types he didn't recognize at all of what their origin would be. He really needed to get out more. Really, it seemed like he was the minority type there. There was just a sprinkle of true faun types there...including Lira! Lira had turned up to the event! His tail gave a bit of a happy twitch at the familiar pae. But first he should set up. The male moved to the backpacks and picked up one, quickly shifting through its contents. It was great! This pocket knife was much sharper and user-friendly than his own homemade blade. Still, he couldn't bare to part with it and he slipped it into the backpack alongside with it. If one knife failed him, he'd always have a backup. At his smart thinking he mentally patted himself on the back. I think I'm getting the hang of this! If he kept it up, he might just become a valuable asset to the community yet! He slung his backpack over his shoulder before trotting over where he had seen his faun friend. "Lira? Liiirrraaa!" He called out to the crowd, a grin stuck to his face. Unbeknownst to him, she hated being out here. But him? He couldn't be happier.

User Image Fresh air, fun activities, and a chance to mingle? The Fae of Love couldn't bare to not participate. He had tried his best to convince his little girl to come but...Sadly though, she had no interest in 'hanging out' for some Father-Daughter bonding. The thought was a depressing one. Over the seasons, she had become increasingly distant from him. Had he done something wrong, or was it natural for ones children think spending time with the parent as 'dull'? He wasn't sure, as he had loved spending time with his own mother - Tartara. That was an even more depressing thought. He looked to the sky and winced. Hopefully she was resting well up there. Hopefully. Come on Tris, live in the moment, not the past! And there was so much good in the present! His amber eyes flicked down to take in the sights. So many attractive pae! His crimson wings gave a little flutter in excitement as he made his way to the backpack area. This WOULD be fun, with or without his beloved Adora. In the corner of his eye, he caught an angel fumbling awkwardly with her pack. He grinned from ear to ear. "These things should really come with an instruction manual, eh?" He charmingly joked at the purple haired female. Another purple haired angel...a flash of Sunny Jones popped in his mind before he shoved it out. He was just bound and determined to have depressing thoughts today! Well, he wasn't going to stand for it. He was going to have a relaxing vacation even if it killed him.

User Image Why had she even shown up for this stupid thing? She looked at the brochure in hand, detailing about how much 'fun' it would be to find treasure and adventure. All of it wasn't something she mind doing, that wasn't the problem. The problem was...She sighed heavily as her emerald eyes first caught sight of the crowd. She knew there would be a lot of pae she just...hoped for the opposite. The female eyed everyone there suspiciously, her antennae snapping in irritation. Would they stare at her and call her names like in her childhood? A fist tightened beside her. For the moment, none took notice. But if anyone tried, she'd tear into them and show off just how much her training with Junior had paid off. As she looked to the backpacks, she took a double take. Uncle Tristen?! FAMILY was on this trip? The female tried slinking towards a rainbow haired faun-hybrid thing next to some blue fae. She wasn't sure what it was exactly, but she was on the edge of camp and away from her Uncle. Perhaps she could remain low key enough to not cause attention...even if it meant sharing the immediate vicinity of a pae wearing a tiara. Gaudy much? Hopefully she wouldn't have to hide long and her Uncle would move away from the area so she could get her own backpack and check in. And the two were conversing among themselves, meaning there was a chance they wouldn't try to talk to her. Despite all the pae, she wasn't going to back out now. She had gone through all the trouble of getting there and she wasn't the type of girl to back down. Ever.

User Image

The air was thick in excitement and it made his blood hum in his veins with anticipation. A hike in the thick woods with at least a dozen pae...perfect conditions for a pae like him. He half grinned as he made his way to the sign up pae, a pack already on his back. It wasn't the supplies...well, it wasn't their supplies. How else was he supposed to have any fun on this trip? "Name - Baliel." He gave to the fairies before being handed his second pack. It no doubt looked a little...odd to others, having two packs. Perhaps they'd just think he was over prepared? Yes. That would be a good cover. His crimson eyes skimmed the area for his first patsy, sparkling with childlike glee. One would think adulthood would come out this immature streak in him, but it only had made him more fine tuned with it. His gaze caught the sight of a purple haired faun-esc pae. She quite loudly exclaimed 'are there gems inside?!'...a priss. PERFECT target for this prank. He opened his own pack and pulled out a dead vine he had painted to look like a snake. She had been joined by a rather strong looking red male, but that didn't derail him. They were conversing with each other so obviously were not paying attention to anything else going on around. He slipped silently behind the female and 'accidently' dropped his 'snake' onto the shoulder of her before quickly stepping into the crowed behind him, looking completely innocent. With so many pae, it was easy to look nondescript.

Lira looked around at who was calling her and saw Kaiden "YOU!" She called as she ran over to him, throwing the backpack over her shoulder "I can't stay, I just can't, I am sorry, but I shouldn't of said yes to this, when the others were asking about it I said yes, thinking maybe, if you went, we could do this together but whilst I am happy to see you come I just shouldn't of said yes to this, I shouldn't of left the safety and protection of our home, exploring the unknown, trying not to be eaten by who knows what, trying to not get killed but whatever cave we may go into...no, I can't, what about our baby? Arik will be parentless again if we don't come back alive and I can't let that happen to him again. I don't even know what these Faries are really like, can we honestly trust them to take us and bring us back in one piece?" She shook her head, taking a deep breath, rambling did take a lot out of a Pae but still, her thoughts, her concerns, whilst she was doing the rambling thing, she did feel a little better at least telling him them. "I...I'm sorry, I shouldn't of just put this on you, please, forgive me, I guess I am just scared and nervous" she said, not wanting to dismiss her concerns off as nothing but in a sense, whilst she was still scared and worried though a little better she still did worry about Arik mostly if nothing else "my safety isn't nearly as important as that little rabbits parent concerns were, I love the little guy, I don't want to see him upset anymore then he already had been, first losing his parents and then being injured like he was, it was horrible for the little one to go through and I don't want to make that worse for him by finally having his new home and new parents taken away from him" she said, knowing this probably was the worlds worst idea now, she should of never left him, she should be at home with him, she couldn't deny doing this with Kaiden may have ended up being fun but still, the unknown, it scared her but if she was going to do it she would of been so much better not having Arik's cute little face constantly in her mind, at least she just would have had to worry about her and Kaiden and not the chance little Arik was going to end up without them.

The male was elated to see Lira pop up from the crowd, his ears perking up. "There you are!" And then, the unload. His eyes widened considerably as she began to babble things that quite honestly confused him. But this was Lira they were talking about...she wasn't the most comfortable pae around others. It had been a surprise to see her there in the first place as it was awfully bold of her. "Whoa, whoa there Lira. Take a deep breath." He chuckled warmly as he reached out and put a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Arik? He's fine. He'll be fine. I've been in this forest once before, it's nothing to be afraid of." The poor girl obviously was not the worlds happiest faun at that moment. But he had found someone familiar there, and it would've been nice to have a friend right off the bat. "I'll protect you, no matter what." He'd protect all the pae here, even the non-faun, but he'd stick by Lira's side to help her most of all.

User Image

Living in this jungle, he knew the area well. He couldn't possibly think of discovering anything that he hadn't before but...well there was going to be an explanation as to why the forest had turned jungle. Meaning, there was going to be some unknown information discussed and he wasn't going to back out of a learning opportunity. He moved past the throng of pae to get to the sign up counter...Wait. Was that Kaiden? The male blinked at the faun before faintly smiling. Seemed he had made a friend. Good. He was his youngest brother, and by far the most estranged. It was good to see him doing well on his own, despite the hand he had been dealt. "Raken." The fae checked him off their list. He wasn't going to interfere...Tristen? His steel blue eyes blinked at the fae, already talking it up with some female. How many family members were in this thing? He shook his head and took the pack before walking off. He'd at least say high to his close brother, but an argument was not something he wanted to do that day. After all, he had a rather strong suspicion that his all-about-love brother had something to do with his daughters pregnancy. The male sat down a tan demonic, barely even looking at him to being rummaging through his new pack. They had supplied a lot of stuff to make it less of a survival hike and more of a...well, vacation. Raken sighed softly. Well, it wasn't like he had to use all of it. Struggle was always the fun part about roughing it in the wilderness.

Lira took a deep breath once more and let it out, smiling at him a little, his touch calmed her, not completely but it did help "nothing to be afraid of? Well thats good for you but for me? I am sorta out of my element here, remember what I do? I do the stay at home, stay in room and don't mingle with anyone type of thing, going on this excursion is something to be afraid of, this will technically be my only second time out of the tree with my first time actually needing to mingle with others, not just Faun but all the different Pae we have on this isle" she said, stopping herself and closed her eyes and counted to ten to just calm herself completely. After the ten seconds were up she opened her eyes, feeling a lot more calmer and smiled at him "at least I have you by my side, thank you, your protection is most welcomed, believe me and I know he will be, I just worry Arik will have no parents or just one after this" she said as she reached up and placed a hand on his, pleased to be able to feel his touch on her, it did help a lot and such a darling, protecting the others, a reason she liked him, he was a good, trustworthy and loyal guy, who doesn't want those qualities in a friend? "Though, whilst I am sort of coming around, A LITTLE, to the idea of going I still feel bad, you should just go, you want to enjoy this, you don't need your friend being a burden, I shouldn't place pressure on you when this should be fun for you" she said, not trying to get out of it exactly, she just truly believed she would do more harm then good going.

"I don't want to place you in danger because of my incompetence and ignorance" she said, knowing she was never going to forgive herself if that happened, she didn't want to bring harm to anyone, especially not the one guy who was basically becoming her best friend.

"Ah, good," he nodded, still wearing a pleasant smile. She seemed much more at ease when she smiled like that...but was she really? Then again, he was just some stranger poking into business she seemed to be trying to keep private. He couldn't blame her if she were only covering how she felt.

"I was just going to say, I was quite looking forward to this trip. Hate to think that someone might not be feeling the same," he finished. He noted her name with a nod. "A lovely name, Celestia." He bowed, making his own introduction. "You may call me by my name, dear lady," he teased, trying to keep the tone of their conversation light, "which is Jarek. I suppose if you had another idea though of what to call me, I suppose you could use that. Just as long as I know what I'm to answer to."

He noticed a demon Pae'il heading in their direction, but she made no move to join the conversation, only stopping nearby. To be polite, he simply gave her a smile and nod in greeting, leaving her be if she wished it so.

Etana jumped, almost dropping the backpack. She'd almost gotten it too. Green eyes glanced upwards to the pae that had shocked her. Oh, he was a looker. She blushed, fumbling with her backpack again.

"It would be nice. I'm not really sure what this thing is supposed to do." She blushed a bit more, still looking up at him. "Do you know what they are?" Keep cool, he's attractive, so what? Lots of guys were attractive, he just happened to be... more so. He couldn't be handsome and smart. There was no way. Besides, why would he talk to her? Etana's mind was racing. She couldn't keep her mind on the one subject she really wanted to know.

"Oh Big Mac, there you are! ... Did you know your sister was here?" she tilted her head curiously, still pouting a bit before sighing. "I thought maybe there were gems in here. But of course there isn't. Silly Rarity, girl, the treasure hunt comes later!" she said with a soft smile, trying to toss her silliness aside. Of course they wouldn't just hand her gems now....although she wasn't sure why they wouldn't. Would save her the effort of possibly having to dig if Big Mag refused too... (secret reason why she brought him along? No that was too harsh, even for her.... or was it?)

"I just hope we start soon." she said and grabbed a giant had from the things Big Mac was carrying and placed it over her head before digging out a pair of matching gloves. "Don't want to get to hot. It will ruin my hair." she said in her usual prissy tone, fluffing up the end of her mane before....

SPLAT.

Something cold hit her shoulder. She froze immediately, her body tensing up, causing her shoulders to move which made the thing seem to slither down her chest.......

"S-S-SSSNNAAAAKKKKEEEEE!!!!!!!"

"GET IT OFF GET IT OFF GET IT OFF!!" she screed and screamed and danced around till she flung the thing from her shoulder. Her hands working in a flurried panic, also knocking her hat off her head as flung herself at Big Mac, plastering herself to his chest. "Help helphelphelphelp eeee!" she squealed, making quite the scene of herself.

Nothing could wake a sleepy girl faster than ear piercing screams. "Son of a biscuit, what the devil?!" She exclaimed as she moved towards the commotion, just in time to see one really dolled up Faunie jump all over the other. Well, it seemed she'd found the source of the screaming... and all this over a snake? And the odds of it being poisonous were slim to none, considering the size of the group.

Sticking her little finger into her ear and wiggling it around, she attempted to get rid of the ringing in her ears.
