Tahigwa took the blow from Shirin's lance with a sharp squeak, her skin was fairly sensitive! Sharp s**t hurt! She glanced at her new soon-to-be scar and grimaced, but lunged forward again to deal another hefty blow to Shirin's hips.

Shirin dodges and retaliates.
19+1 = 20 -> no damage taken
Retaliation: (19 + 6)/5 = 5 dmg dealt
As ready as Shirin was for the match to end, she found that she didn't care for the idea of falling to such a powerful strike. That was going to seriously hurt!
Desperation lent Shirin a sudden turn of speed, her feet moving of their own accord. Slipping past the blades, she struck back with her lance, aiming for Tahigwa's side.

Tahigwa tried to avoid the attack but failed to move fast enough. She took the new cuts with a rather sour face, which only made her next attack more forceful. She jumped towards Shirin's side and slammed both blades downwards.

Shirin attempts to dodge.

Shirin had no time to feel relief. The Alkidike's blades came at her so quickly that there was no dodging them, not this time. The Wind girl crumpled under the impact, her lance falling with a clatter from limp fingers.
Ow ow ow ow ow. That last blow didn't seem to be much lighter than the one she'd managed to dodge. She lay there for a long while. When she finally shook off the disorientation enough and braved the pains and aches all over, she sat up with a smile. Couldn't trust her feet just yet. "I..." She tried again. "I believe it's your win. Congratulations." Though her voice was unsteady, her congratulations were heartfelt.

Tahigwa's face gleamed with pride as she went to Shirin's side. It had been quite an epic battle! They both did very well! She sat beside the wind tribe girl and gave her a small hug, before moving to pat her head.
"Thanks! We both did very well!" She exclaimed. "Now, I believe I said I would braid your hair once we were done! How do you like your hair positioned?"
Hair styling and girl talk, what a way to end a battle!

Shirin's eyes widened in surprise as her former opponent gave her a little hug, but she returned it happily. She was right earlier; her recent opponent really was such a sweetheart.
"I usually wear my hair in a ponytail, but a change would be fun," she replied. Now that she wasn't so dizzy and weak anymore, she stood to yield the arena to the next pair of fighters.
If you asked Shirin, she really couldn't imagine a more delightful ending to her first battle than hair styling and girl talk.
