Buddingtonite may not have been able to read women's minds half as well as he suspected he could, but he could read body language, and he could tell that Jade was becoming increasingly uncomfortable. For a brief moment, he considered throwing a 'just kidding' in there to try and relief that tension he felt in his chest, but he knew it was already too late. The moment he transformed in front of her and chose to spare her from the youma, he had sealed her fate in some manner or another, and now, with Zinkenite on the way, there were only two options left for this woman. She would either become their ally, by choice or by force, or she would be forced to remain silent forever. Buddingtonite would have rather the former, but if the General-King felt otherwise, he would only hope that he would make her death painless. The disappointment he heard in her voice told him that this wouldn't be easy, and he allowed her to take a step backwards, putting his crystal back into his pocket and preparing to grab her before she could flee, especially when Zinkenite didn't appear immediately.

"Trust me, Jade, I wanted nothing more than for this to be a date. Have some good good, a little wine, maybe a little more, but… my hands are tied." Buddingtonite tried to explain, keeping the bulk of his emotions in check and making it appear that he wasn't taking any pleasure from this. That was a lie. He was rather enjoying himself, despite the circumstances, and the moment he felt a familiar surge of energy consume him, his apologetic mask broke, and he looked towards the General-King that had honored him by awakening him so many months ago. Unaware of Jade's paralysis, Buddingtonite took off his cap and gave Zinkenite a bow, addressing him with the respect he deserved. "Ah, General-King Zinkenite, you know I am a loyal servant, one that knows better than to attempt such a thing on my own. Not when we know the consequences should I fail…"

He didn't want to bring it up, not here, not when Jade was trying to escape. In a fluent motion, he threw his cap back on and with a single leap, he was standing next to her, wrapping a possessive arm around her arm and waist and making it very clear that she would be going no where. Any remorse or lament was gone from his voice when in the presence of a General-King, and he introduced the two as though it was merely meeting a co-worker from the office while out on a date. "General-King, this is Jade. I know she may appear a little startled right now, but I do believe that she would be a perfect candidate for the Negaverse. She's quite brave and resilient- why you should have seen the way she berated me when a youma tried to make a meal out of her! I think we're greatly benefit from her services… would you like to do you own evaluation, sir?"

He brought Jade close to him, and gave a harsh, but encouraging whisper. "You're brave. Too brave to waste. Now act it."

“I see.” The reply was quiet, glancing between the both of them and then around at the setting and shaking his head slowly.

“Might I suggest, that we take this somewhere more… private? I think it would be far more relaxing for all parties involved.”

He offered her a hand; it was a simple gesture, calm, very human as well despite the fact that he had appeared out of the air as though he were a stage magician.

“I’m sorry that you find yourself introduced to us this way, I assure you were prefer less unsettling circumstances, but in order to keep from attracting unwanted attention, and to keep you safe from the subsequent fall out of said unwanted attentions… would you mind terribly taking my hand Miss Jade.”

(I apologize in advance of the length of my reply. ^_^;; It's looong.)

There was no way out. No way to escape. No more hope.

She was at mercy of two men who were enemies of senshi, and at the same time enemies of her, although they didn't know that yet. If they had been fighting in the Surrounding.... would they figure out she had been there as well? Would they kill her again if they knew?

But then Buddingtonite introduced her to the General-King and gave Jade that glimpse of hope she so desperately needed. It was rather surprising news which why she turned to look at her blind date, eyebrows lowering a little as a sign of confused feelings that swelled inside her. He wanted her to join them, to become part of the organization he was in. Why? Because she fought against the plant youma and refused to die? Because she had scolded him for not fightning? Was he that impressed of her?

However, his whisper to her really opened her eyes. It didn't take long for her to realize what he meant with the word 'waste'. There was more than just him recognizing her skills. If she would refuse, or the General-King would not accept her in their organization.... she would die. It was matter of life and death now, and it was her life that was at stake. And he..... he....

.... he wanted to save her life!

He wanted to spare her from the death. He could have killed her, he had a good reason for that, after all he had revealed his secret to her. But he didn't do that. He didn't want to.

'Do you really like me that much, Mister Moreau?'

She closed her eyes and let out a sigh, as an attempt to calm down. There was still that ominous feeling present, warning her of something unknown danger but somehow she felt calmer now. She could survive from this alive, she had hope, she had to believe it. Buddingtonite already did. But she needed to act, give a good impression to the General-King. It was almost like some kind of twisted job interview. While she had got good recommendations from Buddingtonite, she herself had to pass the interview. Or else she would die.

"Understood," she whispered in response to his whisper.

Her free hand reached for his arm that was holding her still and with a gentle, calmly manner she freed herself from his hold. There was no signs that would hint of her wanting to escape. No, she wasn't that stupid. She turned to look at the captain that had got her into this mess and while there was still a hint of fear in her eyes, the look she gave to him was rather calm, determited and serious when she quietly said, her tone similar to the tone that she used in the kitchen at her work place. "Understood."

She turned to look at Zinkenite, unsure about her opinion of him yet. He seemed kind, polite, gentleman-like. But there was still that ominous feeling that couldn't leave Jade alone. He seemed strangely familiar, like she would had seen him before in somewhere but she couldn't figure out when or where. She made a slow movement towards him, still wary. Her eyes looked at the hand that was offered to her, she considered the offer. Part of her didn't want to take his hand, as it meant she would need to fight senshi, those who had took care of her and other 51 civilians that were trapped at the Surrounding for a reason unknown. But... this was her only option to survive from this night alive, wasn't it?

'I'm sorry. I'm grateful of your help you've given to me back then but I have no choice. Dying isn't a pleasant experience and I'm not eager to feel that again yet....'

"It would be an honour," she said, placed her hand on her chest and gave him a respectful bow. Once she had straightened herself, she elegantly moved her hand towards his, ready to make this major decision.

But before her hand touched Zinkenite's hand, she heard an alarming voice inside her head. It was a loud roar that belonged to the creature that Jade wished to never see again. It belonged to the huge skeleton dragon that had attacked to the Surrounding, the Great One! Instictively, she raised her both hands to cover her ears and closed her eyes tightly, attempting to chase the imaginary voice away from her head. It didn't work. No... It got worse...

... Along with the terrifying roar she heard other sounds and her mind was filled with mental images that rapidly flashed in her mind one after another. Senshi fightning. Knights fighting. Negaverse and Dark Mirror Senshi fighting. Civilians trying to hide. Civilians crying. Civilians dying. She heard senshi calling their attacks. She heard battle cries around her. She heard cries of death. And she heard herself, calling for Menthe, her mousy secretary friend, whom she had lost in the chaotic battlefield. She heard her last breath before her own death. She remembered her agony, that feeling of being helpless, being useless.

It was a lot of to take, and Jade had to fight her best to not cry out loud. It was hard to breath. She could feel herself shaking. She opened her eyes, staring at the dark sky above her with her wild eyes that reflected terror, fear, confusion. What was happening? Why she remembered all this? Why now, in front of the man who was holding her life on his hands?

Oh yes, him. She wasn't making a good impression, now was she? Carefully, she turned her gaze towards him, back in this wold again. Still shaky but back in this world. "I'm sorry. My head started to hurt suddenly," she slipped out a white lie. One last time a flashback fom the past rushed in her mind, and this time, it actually cleared some of the confusion she felt. "I remember you," she said, almost like in trance. "You invaded to the Surr-"

Suddenly, lights in her head went off and her body betrayed her. Unconscious, she started falling towards the ground. She was just a civilian, weakened by hunger, exhaustion and emotional turmoil. She had her limit of how much she could take.

That limit was crossed now.

((And she's out! Feel free to skip over me while Buddy and Zink figure out what they do with unconscious Jade and/or where they take her. 3nodding Either start the new one (as the location changes, could be logical) or we can continue here as well. Anyway, just quote me when you're ready for Jade to wake up. heart ))

Buddingtonite felt as though that things had gone much smoother than he thought possible, and he was grateful that Zinkenite had just the right words and wit to keep the young lady calm, and he was willing to hand her over to the General-King to allow her corruption in peace. This wasn't how he wanted his night to go, but he wasn't going to argue with the fates, nor the General-King that had pulled him into this organization. If anything, giving her to Zinkenite would have been the safest thing for her. After all, he awakened him, and the pain was minimal.

He was going to mention this to her, but he had a feeling that keeping his mouth shut would have been for the best in this situation. So, for once, the talkative Buddingtonite was going to keep his mouth shut and allow Zinkenite to do his job, with no interruptions or second-hand comments. He was the General-King, after all.

And then, poor Jade! He had seen her cheeks pale, her eyes widened, and he tightened his hold around her when it was clear that she was going down! He braced himself, going down with her but making sure it was slow and gentle- the bruises she'd receive from the fall would have been nothing compared to the pain she'd feel later, but still, it felt wrong to just drop her. She had said something, but Buddingtonite didn't catch it, and he didn't need to be a doctor to see that she was clearly unconscious. He looked up to Zinkenite, a baffled expression in his face and uncertain how to approach this situation besides with a nervous chuckle. "Uh, you must forgive her, my General-King. She's quite hungry and I'm sure all of this has come as quite a shock to her. Or perhaps it was your radiance that she could not handle?"

That last bit was a half hearted attempt at humor, but he was sure that Zinkenite wouldn't have appreciated it. He cleared his throat, pulling her into his arms and preparing to carry her for him, making sure she was as comfortable as possible as he bowed his head, as his apology was meek. "I am sorry to trouble you about this sir. Trust me, if it was possible for me to awaken her, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Where should we take this?"

Yes, I'll quote you both

Zinkenite for his part had actually gone so far as to take a step back from the fainting young woman, hands raised awkwardly for a moment. “Let me take her.” He reached out his arms to take her, and could do so easily if and when she was relinquished.

“The rift will be fine, follow me to the dark kingdom and I will escort the both of us.” He said firmly. “I think we both understand she knows too much, are you prepared to change her? I do hope so.” He gave a small nod, and with that, the three of them would vanish from the civilian world.
