Naian yelped as a claw caught at her, but she stayed on her feet this time, and anger rose in her. "Leave us alone," she hissed, and as she bent to scoop up another rock she felt the fury buoy her, as if it too were something she could use to attack. The rock flew straight and true, and with it the strange anger, and she watched both connect as if she were at some distance from the whole thing.
