Oh, uhh, so I wanted to make an archive of all the questions/answers about the world that have been given in the main forums topic so far! It doesn't really belong in Erasmus's journal, but I thought it could help people! And by "people" I mean "me"!
Without further ado, here it is!
Caught up with questions to page 117.

Q & A
- T H E X R E A L M
Q: Does the Realm posses constellation which might help navigation? Or does it responds to the lack of time-space definition, like a constantly changing night-sky? What would the sky night be like? (Haruyuki)
A: Somnum is not a world like ours-- in fact, it is the complete opposite (and perhaps that's why people in the early years thought the earth was nothing but a planar!)
Somnum is, indeed, a planar. Just like a sheet of paper, it floats in space. It is in a fixed position, therefore both the moon and the sun must be the ones to orbit around it. This means that daytime and nightime occur at the exact same time all over the planet.
This also explains why the vast sea leads to perdition-- if you venture into it, you're bounded to fall off into space.
Going back to the constellations-- Yes, the stars are always in a fixed position up in the sky. During night time they can be used to navigate across the world, serving as guidelines to venture the world. They can also be seen during daytime, but its a bit harder to do so as the Sun shines brighter than they do.
Just make sure you don't follow them too far, or you might fall off the planet!
Q: Where would a compass point then? (Haruyuki)
A: We believe that a compass wouldn't really work in the Somnum realm as they are human objects. It would just spin like crazy in the Realm!
Q: Are the kings the only power in all of Somnum? Or do they have, I don't know, a court, or something? If so, who else serves on the court, what positions/responsibilities do they have, and how were they appointed? (basilous)
A: The kings are the central and only power in the Somnum realm, but yes, they do have a court of 8 sprites that help them make the important decisions. The court sprites are appointed by the kings themselves (most court sprites were created by the kings specifically for the role). Court sprites are usually on the level of archdukes and live in the palace itself. Some of the members of the court are actually princes or princesses.
Q: Is violence totally unknown to the sprites, or has it been deemed necessary on occasion? Is there a "law-enforcement" system of one kind or another?--by which I mean, do the kings detect and deal with all inappropriate behaviour themselves, or do they employ some sprites to help them detect transgressions and/or punish the less severe actions? (Or is Somnum a totally peaceful realm where nothing of the sort would ever happen? And if that is the case, where did sprites get ideas for the violence that sometimes shows up in humans' dreams?) (basilous)
A: Violence happens quite often in the realm, specially in the southeastern district. A group of guards makes sure to keep peace in Central and punish sprites that might be misbehaving; the most common form of punishment is "depowering". Unfortunately, most of the violent acts aren't detected and punished.
Q: Are all the animals in the Somnum Realms like ordinary Earth animals? (awendybird)
A: I know we live in a pretty fantasy-bound world, but that's only because me and Sepona dedicate our time to actually make our little dreams and nightmares special. Truth is, this world is pretty normal if you take us out of the picture-- which leaves the animals being just as they are in Earth. Boring squirrels and birds, psh.
If only Sepona'd let me tweak them a little...
But eh, guess that can't happen. So yeah, animals are pretty normal around here-- we do get some dragons and unicorns here and there, though they're pretty hard to find.
Guess we'll have to stick to the squirrels.
Q: Is depowering a permanent punishment or can those who taketh away also giveth it back? (awendybird)
A: Hm. If a sprite is stupid enough to get into this situation, they would've pissed us off quite a bit. Chances are they won't be getting their powers back.
I guess we are capable of giving powers back, though-- if the sprite proves itself worthy of them. That's what Sepona says, at least-- If it depended on me, they wouldn't get their powers back no matter what they did.
Q: Does the Somnum realm have any sort of economy or commerce? and if so, what would be used as currency? EDIT: read the "jobs" post more closely and it says "there is no real economy in the Somnum realm". However, descriptions of the world mention "lively markets" and also that the entry to the Galilea spring house is "expensive", so I am confused now hehe. (awendybird)
A: Somnum central does have commerce, although it doesn't have any currency-- I'll copy paste you this haha:
Commerce
"Although the Somnum Realm does not posses any type of coin, commerce is active and comes in the form of trades. Objects from the human world are usually considered rare and extravagant, Food and clothes, on the other hand, are common objects and can be traded easily. Books have a middle value." (From our Tumblr!)
So in short, sprites trade things just like us human beings used to do before coins (trading salt for species, metals for fabrics, etc). A ticket to Galilea's hot spring can be traded by a rare human item such as a cellphone (for the record, human technology doesn't work in the Somnum realm haha).
Q: Does Somnum have weather? (awendybird)
A: Sure it does~ Somnum central and the forest both have normal seasons, whereas the desert and the mountains are always sunny/snowy respectively.
Q: In what district is the Somnian Post Office located? (Haruyuki)
A: In the commercial district!

Q: Can the citizens speak various [languages]? How do they respond to their human's language? Do they adapt? (Haruyuki)
A: In regards to the languages, all Sprites in the realm speak the same language, although cliches and regionalisms do appear in their way of speaking. When communicating with a human, on the other hand, Sprites do not mind the language the human speaks in, as the Sprite communicates with the brain and the ideas themselves, not the human's dialect.
Q: How many years do Sprites usually live? (basilous)
A: Sprites do not have a defined lifespan, however, they are not immortal either. Sickness and murder will kill a sprite, but a sprite will never die of "old age". I hope that explained it haha!
Q: Do sprites need to eat, or do they eat for entertainment? (basilous)
A: They do have to eat just as much as a human~
Q: Do sprites get sick? (basilous)
A: Yess, Sprites do get sick~
Q: What is the average height of Sprites -- let's say a Sprite in Phase One? (So I have something to compare the giant's height with). (awendybird)
A: During Phase I of these little sprites I believe the average height would be nothing but 1 ft (30 cm), which we think would make the giantess a 3 ft (90 cm) freak, the poor thing
Q: Do all nightmares have slitted "snake" eyes, like Anidara and Nemesio, or is it just a coincidence? (Haruyuki)
A: No, not all nightmares have those kind of eyes hahah, just a coincidence~
Q: Is a sprite's anatomy the same as that of a human's? or are sprites just made of magic? (basilous)
A: Sprites are made from mana, thus, magic hahah, so no anatomical worries whatsoever!
Q: Do sprites dream/have nightmares when they sleep? Or do they just fade in and out of black o_o (awendybird)
A: Anidara says sprites do sleep but do not dream. They just enter a state of unconsciousness for 15 WHOLE HOURS THOSE LAZY BUMS

Q: Do sprites themselves ever choose to appear in their human's dreams? Or do they even have that ability? (basilous)
A: Unfortunately, humans can't see sprites! They usually see them as a family member or a celebrity in their dream (notice that in dreams we never actually notice faces, though?)
Q: Can sprites have more than one human at a time? (basilous)
A: Sprites don't actually belong with a human, they can give dreams to as many humans as they want, but most prefer to visit a sole human in order to avoid confusion or "extra thinking" (as in creating multiple stories for the Dreamcasting).
Q: Could you maybe explain a bit more about the process of Sprites giving humans dreams/nightmares? (awendybird)
A: I'll try my best to explain this, I'm sorry if its a bit dodgy--
So the basic idea of dreamcasting... Dreamcasting is when Nightmares and Dreams get to show off a scenario they've made themselves, preparing for a whole year to get it done, right? Then they'll travel all the way to the human world to put their dream/nightmare into action
I think that's clear so far
Now, what Sepona meant to say was... Dreams/Nightmares can choose to target a single human during Dreamcasting, which makes it easier for them since they only have to plan out a single scenario. They can use up all their time preparing for this one scenario to make it specially good.
Some Nightmares/Dreams, however, choose to target more than one single human for one Dreamcasting event.
This means they have to plan out a different scenario for each human they target-- this gives them and advantage in numbers, but it takes a lot of their time-- and sometimes the results might not be as good since they haven't been able to completely focus on one idea.
I think by this time it is clear that Dreams and Nightmares are not bound to one single human-- they choose a different human each time. Though I guess some could choose to stick to one same human... But eh, that'd make things pretty boring.
Q: At what age are sprites old enough to dreamcast?? (basilous)
A: At any age! Dreamcasting takes place in November *u*
ALSO I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT SPRITES CAN COLLABORATE IN THE DREAMCASTING YUP
Q: What happens when the human manages to change their dream?/How does lucid dreaming work in the context of Somnum?
(Haruyuki/basilous)
A: Lucid dreamers are quite possibly the sprites' worst enemy. Imagine spending all of your time creating a story and presenting it to someone and then having that someone change it completely hahah. Many creations have lost the opportunity to win the Dreamcasting because of those awful humans who have discovered the secrets to their magic!
Q: Since small sprite aren't allowed out of the nursery do they need a guardian to supervise them when going to the human world? (awendybird)
A: no no, actually we big boys steal your babies' dreams and MAKE THEM OUR OWN HAAAHA
I mean-- I'm still thinking about that but I'd hate to keep the small fellas out of the fun *u* so most probably yes!
