An INTJ on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Erasmus is primarily motivated by a strong need forindependence. His sense of humour is largely satiric, but he is nevertheless an eternal optimist. He isbold, impulsive, andunscrupulous: there aren't many things he won't try (at least once). Erasmus is fairly reserved, but he is magnanimous in his interactions with other sprites. His customs and beliefs areconventional, largely conforming to society's expectations.
Despite his conventionality, Erasmus is not a passive individual. He ismanipulative, apathological liar; and he isn't above listening at doors if it will help him achieve his goals. He won't hesitate to step in if help is needed, but the tendency to employ his quick tongue has led him into trouble on more than one occasion. Erasmus is flirtatious in theory, but in practice, he is surprisingly closed to romantic experiences.
Erasmus isn't a fan of small talk; he'd much rather cut to the chase. His favourite topics of conversation largely focus on current events in the Somnum Realm. When he needs to think, sitting still is a distraction-- instead, he'll pace the room or take a walk. Erasmus likesexploringandgardening, and, in fact, plans to keep a garden in his apartment.
"An invisible object must reflect light in the same way as its surrounding matter."
With the power oftemporal camouflage, Erasmus can become invisible for short periods of time. This feat is accomplished by means of changing his refractive index to match that of his environment. Erasmus is able to concentrate his ability in different areas of his body. For example, in order to him to function optimally, the lenses and the maculae of his eyes must stay at their respective indices regardless of what the rest of his body looks like. (However, they are difficult to notice.)
Erasmus is unable to make his clothing and objects he is carrying invisible. This can present him with some difficulties! Until he learns to control his powers, he may activate them without meaning to do so. He will also have to learn how and where to concentrate his powers when activating them becomes necessary.
"This jar is misbehaving so much! No matter how many times I've asked it to stay in place, it just won't listen! Flying jars are always so hard to handle..."
Prone to mischief, Erasmus has been a handful since day one!
Erasmus awoke with the first set of new sprites during theArc of Awakening. So far, he's only met the dream giantess Fjorgyn (and her leporid friend, Ostara), but he's certainly eager to meet the rest of the new sprites!
"So, you want me to take you back to my place? Let me lead the way!"
Erasmus sleeps on the top floor of an apartment building between the Jean-Marie and Marcel rivers. The building is of standard clay, with tall arches overshadowing the street below. It has five private apartments in total: two on the ground floor and two on the second floor, with Erasmus's apartment above.
Erasmus keeps a garden on the roof of the building. The garden mostly consists of flowerless plants and small potted trees.

After heading into the apartment, passing all the way through the front hall, and ascending the spiral staircase at the back of the building, one finds himself on a small railed landing just outside a thin wooden door. The handle rattles when it is turned, but the door swings to with ease and in silence.
Erasmus's apartment is only one room, large enough for a single sprite. The room contains a mattress, pushed into the far corner and heaped with blankets; a trunk, covered in another blanket; a neat desk; and a chair with a brightly coloured banner draped over its back. On one wall, there is a shuttered window through which the palace is visible; more banners are hung over the windowsill and flutter in the breeze. High on the opposite wall is a wooden trapdoor--firmly latched, with no stairs or ladder--that leads to the roof garden.

The trunk is empty, and the desk's surface is clear. Maybe Erasmus should look for things to store here!
Apparently basilous is in the habit of making visual aids and collecting them here for himself, because he lacks the mental software to create sufficiently vivid images--or something like that.
