Galan glanced up quickly when Rosetta spoke, hoping he’d expressed himself well enough. Slowly standing up, he fidgeted slightly, unsure what to do with himself without being on the ground like that. He didn’t like being one on one with people like this. Especially with someone who didn’t like him much. Sure she said she wasn’t going to hit him, but he’d heard that many times before, they always did eventually. When she went on to say that she had something for him to do, he looked to her curiously. He had a job tonight? Perhaps he could prove himself to be more than some hassle to her. Of course this could be just some way for her to get back at him, but if he did well, it didn’t matter right? She should still be pleased that he managed to finish a task quickly and efficiently.

Hurrying after her as she headed out of the room, he kept to her heels, letting himself look around so that he remembered how to get to his room when he had completed whatever task she had for him. He was amazed by the house. It was huge, and so beautiful. It seemed that not only was the master proud of his home, but so were the servants. You could always tell how much the servants cared by the upkeep of the house. But then again there were a lot of workers here it seemed. When they passed through the dining room, he had his suspicions confirmed. He’d never worked in a house that had so many others working there also. He didn’t know how they could possibly need more help. Musing over that, he was shocked when someone actually acknowledged him as he passed. Turning wide eyes on the girl, he glanced around to see if he was getting in trouble before offering a shy smile and shuffling closer to Rosetta as they walked.

He was almost glad when Rosetta led him back away from the people. Though they all seemed nice enough, he loud crowds were nerve wracking when you didn’t know anyone, and then to add his voicelessness to it, made it all the worse. Pausing when Rosetta did, he took the tray automatically when she handed it to him, tilting his head slightly as he watched her put the champagne on there as well. Meeting her eyes as she explained what he was to do, he gave little nods of understanding throughout. Biting his lip as he went through it in his head, he gave another quick nod as he was told to be on his way. Hurrying up the steps, he kept the tray perfectly balanced, despite his pace. Trying to remember where Luca’s room was once he reached the top, he walked a little slower. Finally finding his room, he slowly cracked the door open, peeking inside to see if Luca was inside. When he didn’t see him in the main room and heard the telltale swish of water, he slipped inside. Carefully placing the tray down as he was told, he picked up the glass and bottle. Heading towards the bathroom, he paused outside and after a moment, knocked softly at the frame before stepping in.

Giving a nervous smile, Galan stepped closer to the tub and poured the champagne perfectly before handing it to Luca.

Ah what an eventful day, but that was his life, and he was very much used to it. Most days he walked out of the house expecting something to happen, especially when Paul was the one driving him around. Cris thought maybe he should consider driving himself...every once in a while. The paparazzi probably knew his ways by now, his chauffeur's appearance, maybe his name as well, what kind of car Paul typically drove (so they knew what to look for). They also could possibly know what time of day he was out and about. He couldn't help the fact that he had to leave early in the morning at times, and at night it was inescapable as well, the cameramen looked for him twice as hard at night--especially when they knew he was due home any day now.

He shifted his legs causing the water to swoosh noisily and splash all over. It was something to consider. Cris thought about his plans for tomorrow, he had a photo shoot to do and they would be shooting another episode of the soap opera he was in: Nine Lives. Seems his character: defense attorney Michael Larson would finally confess to his wife about his affair with his secretary. Things were definitively going to get shaken up in the weeks to come. Mostly he was shooting episodes for that show, he had done a movie some time ago but was in no hurry to do another one. He wished to slow things down for now and focus on this character role.

Cris let himself sink deep into the water, going underwater and looking up at the ceiling through the water flowing before his face. He closed his eyes, bubbles floating from his mouth. It was when he faintly heard someone enter his room, and then the bathroom that he resurfaced, water rolling off of his honey colored hair. He rested his elbows on the rim of the tub and looked at the person who had entered. Ah it was Galan, somehow he had expected the servant from last time to tend to him.
"Ah so Rosetta is starting you on this already?" He chuckled lightly, "She is quite stern but I wouldn't take her too seriously, she means well. There's no need to be nervous." He said, trying to be reassuring--obviously he had noticed the shaky smile.

He thanked him for the champagne, and settled into the tub.
"I'll be right out in a few minutes I'm pretty much done." He sipped on the glass, running his hand across his face to wipe away the beads of moisture running down his forehead. This glass of champagne did a good job at making him relax, hence why he always liked to have one around this time.

Cris soaked a while longer and then got out of the tub, wrapping a towel around his waist casually. He went back into his bedroom where his night clothes awaited. He didn't sit or anything just slipped some socks on his feet, some briefs on underneath his towel and put on his pajama bottoms, but waited to put the top on. Knowing Galan was going to serve him his meal, he waited expectantly for it but in the meantime poured another glass of champagne and drank it by his window looking out at it.
"I know we barely know each other, but I'm already curious to know about you. Hopefully I'll be able to one day." He said, not quite looking at Galan.

Galan lowered his eyes quickly at Cris’ chuckle, though his smile was a little more relaxed, clearly sensing that he wasn’t going to be hurt at the moment. Just as long as he didn’t mess up, he was pretty sure he’d be alright. When Cris continued to speak of Rosetta, Galan glanced up again and shook his head slightly. It wasn’t his place to judge Rosetta or let others guess at his thoughts or feeling towards her, even Cris. Taking Cris’ next words as the dismissal they clearly were, he bowed deeply and slipped back out of the bathroom. Waiting near where he’d left the food, he took a chance to glance around Cris’ room, appreciating what it said about him. It was luxurious yes, but not overly so. The colors and furniture made the room feel warm and comfortable. There were no signs of any hobbies or interests that would make Cris a monster, so he could only assume Cris was being genuine with him so far. And even if he ended up being abusive and cruel in the end, at least he had been kind at the start.....and he was a rather handsome man compared to other owners Galan had had in the past, which was nice as well.

When Cris stepped out of the bathroom however, Galan lowered his eyes again. Waiting for him to get as dressed as he felt like, Galan finally moved again, topping off Cris’ drink and beginning to set up the man’s dinner as he had been told to. He made sure everything was presentable and correct. Glancing up when Cris spoke again, he paused, clearly surprised by those words. When he realized that Cris was serious, he smiled and let out a small huff of breath that seemed to brush off the notion all together. Pinching at the thin collar around his neck, he shifted it as if to show Cris it, though he knew full well everyone knew he wore a collar, all slaves did, and shrugged. But that was all he really felt he had say about himself. He was a slave, had been his whole life, what use was anything beyond that.

Looking to the food again, he stepped aside to show Cris that it was ready for him. As the man came over, he saw a red patch on his shoulder from where he’d bumped against the car over and over earlier in the evening. Biting his lip, he became thoroughly distracted by that. He hated seeing others hurt in any way, even people he didn’t like. He was pretty sure it was just in his instincts to heal everyone he saw, no matter who they were or how small the injury. Shifting, he made to back off and wait at an appropriate distance, but couldn’t and instead touched Cris’ shoulder, healing the injury in a second and backing off quickly as if he’d be hit for touching the man, which wouldn’t have surprised him too much. Many of his attempts to heal people ended badly for him.

Cris sipped from his glass once and turned away from the window. Afterwards he turned around and looked at Galan, before coming toward him. The blonde heard the soft breath, and the look of doubt. His mouth turned up into a half smile,
"I'm quite serious, no joke intended. I like to get to know those who I work with or work for me. All you'd have to do is listen to what the other members of the house say. Then you would know that I'm no stranger to them." Then Galan seemed to gesture to his collar--tugging on it as if he was trying to remind him of his 'status.' Cris's amber eyes fell on that collar but he didn't give much of a reaction as he sipped on his glass once more. "So the collar makes a difference? I'm not sure I agree. I don't think a collar should signify any person's lack of importance." He wasn't about to argue his point though; Galan had likely been giving such an impression from whatever people had owned him in the past. It seemed to be a favorite pastime of some masters to humiliate, abuse and brainwash their property into believing in such crap. Hence why Cris never wanted any part in it, sadly he knew a few pompous individuals who liked to part take in such practices. It was disgusting.

Now he owned Galan, perhaps Galan thought him to be similar, though Cris was not the one who made the order for a slave....it had been Rose. Still it may be better for Galan to be here with them than out there, or with some other person. A person who likely wouldn't be so kind to him. Hopefully tomorrow Rose won't bother trying to get rid of Galan, or try to convince him Galan needs to go. She seemed especially obsessed with that task today. He may have to make it really clear to her that Galan was staying; the deal had already been done. Paperwork signed, money spent.

Galan did his duties and set up his meal for him. He seemed especially concerned about doing it right, not dropping a thing or knocking anything over. But in all honesty Cris wouldn't have done anything to him if he had messed up. Rose probably would, but he would not, and she would have only punished Galan if she had somehow found out about the mistake, which wasn't a detail Cris was likely to give to the woman. Absently Cris had rubbed his shoulder and had taken a seat on the edge of the bed, where the small rolling stand (that had the meal upon it) had been stationed. The spot on his shoulder felt sore. Ugh, Paul's crazy driving. With his suit on he hadn't felt a thing, he hadn't even noticed the soreness that had spread after that final body-jerking turn his chauffeur had made before they came to a stop in front of the house.

But now he was pretty aware of it.

"Well this looks good." He commented, surveying the grilled chicken over a rice, vegetable and potato stir fry. There was also a biscuit on the edge of the plate, a little bit extra to add to the meal. His chefs did such a good job, and they didn't play favorites either. They mostly cooked what everyone wanted, making sure the meals they prepared were dishes everyone would like. If not then they would make more that way there was something available for everyone. They also put dishes together based off of cook books, at times making their own creations. Because the man was busy looking over the meal and sampling it he did not notice Galan staring at his somewhat bruised shoulder.

Taking some food in his mouth he began to eat, it was quite good, and his hunger seemed to kick in because he dug right in again. Driving around with Paul and Rick all day must had gotten to him. When you were being pursued by craved cameraman you really didn't have the opportunity to eat, yet alone stop at a drive through or something. He had eaten at an event with Mrs Clearwater, but that had been some time ago.

Breaking the biscuit down the middle to view its soft, fluffy buttered inside Cris saw something out of the corner or his eye. He had somewhat forgotten Galan's presence for he had been entranced by this meal, but now he could see the slave's hand reaching out almost hesitantly. Galan seemed to touch him on the shoulder and then retreated far away.

At first Cris didn't quite understand, but then he remembered how his shoulder had been hurting. He just happened to look at it, and caught the last bit of redness as it faded away from his skin.
"Yes... That's right...." He looked at Galan, "You're a.... I guess I forgot." He wiped at his mouth with a napkin. He mustered a smile hoping to dispel any worries Galan may have. "It's okay...I really didn't mind. Thank you for healing me."

Eating a bit more food, Cris looked at the clock. "It's getting pretty late, I'll allow you to go. There is no need for you to remain here until I finish every single morsel. ...Um...do you remember where you room is located?"

⊁⊀Galan⊁⊀

Galan glanced at Cris again when he went on to assure him that he really did want to learn about him and that his status as a slave didn’t change that. He still didn’t really believe him. No one had ever wanted to learn more about him and he was very well aware that he had nothing to offer as far as a story anyway. He was a slave, always had been, always would be. The only thing that could give any definition to his life was the number masters he’s had. That was really how he defined his life. Other people considered their age, or grade in school, perhaps their job or relationships. He just thought in terms of who his master had been. He wasn’t even sure how old he was exactly. He was told he was roughly 21, but he could be a little older than that. Didn’t matter anyway.

When Cris began eating, Galan did have to admit that the food looked wonderful, but the master of the house always had delicious looking food. He was just surprised that he’d been given a decent meal earlier, particularly as he’d clearly been such a burden and so unwanted. His mind was so focused on the injury in front of him that his attention couldn’t be held by the meal for long. He instantly began to regret his actions when Cris looked at him quizzically. Keeping his eyes down, he didn’t see Cris noticing the fading mark. When Cris began to try and identify what he was, he shrunk away a little more. It never seemed to be the start of a good sentence for him. Everyone that found out about his lineage was disgusted, who could ever like a half-breed? And even if they didn’t know about that, most people didn’t like that he had powers, that he could use them as a slave. He couldn’t do anything to harm anyone, but that didn’t seem to matter. Cris didn’t seem to be angry however, instead he thanked him. That in itself made Galan look up again, eyes wide. Why would he be thanked? A slave served, they weren’t supposed to be thanked. When he saw the smile it made him hope that he really was okay, but he didn’t act on that, clearly caught in a situation he wasn’t sure how to deal with. Shifting uncomfortably, he kept the distance between himself and Cris as if that would keep him from lashing out at him.

When Cris spoke about dismissing him, he fidgeted. Was he really allowed to go before he was done? Rosetta had said that Cris would dismiss him when he wanted…and she hadn’t mentioned anything that needed to be done after he served the meal. Biting his lip, he brought a hand up to touch his face as he tried to remember his movements through the house before. After a second he gave a small nod, still not sure, but figuring he could make it close enough to his room to remember the rest of the way. Looking to Cris again, he slowly cam e closer and refilled his glass once more before backing off a few more steps and giving a deep bow. When he was sure that he was allowed to leave, he quickly left the room, closing the door silently behind him. Slowly retracing his steps, he got lost halfway to his room, but wandered until he found his way. Entering his room slowly, he half expected someone to be there and for his real place to be some corner of the kitchen or something. When he found it still empty, he slipped inside and took a few minutes to explore the room, amazed by the luxury afforded him. He was almost scared to go to sleep there. He did eventually make his way to bed however, and after staying up for some time, marveling in the comforts of the bed, he finally went to sleep, allowing himself a deeper sleep than he’d had at a Master’s house in years.

Well...Galan seemed to know where his room was so Cris just tried to be satisfied with that--though the blond did go out into the hall after Galan had gone and watched him as he wandered down the hall. Why he had done it, well he wasn't sure...perhaps he just figured he'd see him off and if Galan happened to change his mind and decide he does want his help, then Cris would be right there in the hallway. It was only when the dark purple haired male was out of sight that Cris wandered back into the confines of his bedroom. It was quiet now, and he took a small breath. He made sure to clean his plate, for he didn't like to be wasteful, then drained his last glass of champagne before pulling his pajama top on and climbing into bed. For some time he stared at the ceiling in quiet contemplation. Two gold eyes looked down and his fingers ventured down to button up the front of the soft pajama shirt. Eventually he turned over and pulled the blankets up some more, then reached over to turn his bedside lamp off and closed his eyes...

The following day...

Upstairs was quite serene but downstairs there was a bit of bustle. The kitchen leaked the sweet aroma of breakfast and the house staff were seated around the table for breakfast. As of right now mostly every member of the house was seated in the dining area eating, except for Paul and Rick who had went home the previous night after eating a late dinner. Rose was not eating breakfast either for she was busy buzzing around; she went to check on Cris, who she was sure was awake and on the move.

She knocked several times before entering his room, and tried not to bat an eye as he pulled a shirt on and started buttoning it. Folding her hands behind her back Rose spoke, "Your agent called a little while ago, I'm guessing you missed the call because you were in the shower. I believe you remember the agenda for today but I decided to remind you anyway since...Mr. Anderson felt it necessary to recite it to me."

Cris buttoned the last two buttons of his shirt.
"That is just like Clyde, he likes to be careful to make sure there are no mix ups--though it rarely happens." Rose paused, "Yes...I suppose he does. Anyway he wanted me to remind you that you are due to attend a photo shoot and then spend the rest of the evening shooting new episodes for that soap opera women seem to like so much." She half mumbled the rest and he laughed heartily. "Oh Rose..." "I am assuming the reason they like the show so much is because of the sex, drama and hunky men."

Cris neatly tucked the bottom of his shirt into his pants.
"Oh so you didn't ever do that Rose? Drool over men you saw on television?" She flushed deeply, "T-That is besides the point!" She cleared her throat."Mr. Anderson wanted to meet with you and discuss the agenda for the remainder of the week, but he has some things to attend to today, though he wishes he could meet with you."Cris nodded in understanding. "It's alright; we can meet whenever he has time. I'm all for making time for that." Remembering what she had sent Galan to do before she had gone off to bed, Rose looked at Cris and asked about how it had gone. Cris gave her a good report therefore Rose had little to be concerned about. This did not mean she was not concerned.

Cris fully dressed and with Rose walking beside him they left his bedroom and went a few paces down the hall. "Oh and another thing, that sad excuse for a brother called and seemingly wants some time to talk with you." Rose stuck her nose int he air, "It's a small matter so I'm not sure if you feel up to dealing with that nonsense." Again Cris laughed.
"I think I will meet him actually, it's been a long time so perhaps we are due to catch up. It's not as bad as you make it out to seem." Rose could only snort at that reply. She went to Galan's door and knocked on it several times. "You better be awake in there." She called before opening the door. Hand still on the doorknob she stood in the hallway, Cris behind her--probably to keep her from being too harsh with their newest member of the household.

"It's time for breakfast."

⊁⊀Galan⊁⊀

Galan had slept straight until dawn and then a little passed. When he finally woke, he heard the faint sounds of people beginning to move, but he wasn’t sure if he was allowed to come out. So instead he took advantage of what he had while he had it. Taking a shower, he turned the water as hot as he could possibly handle and scrubbed himself nearly raw. He always felt dirty, even when he wasn’t and it frustrated him to no ends. When he was done with that, he got out and dried himself before grabbing his clothes. The Hotel had given him one extra change of clothes, it was exactly the same outfit, but it allowed him to always have clean clothes. Leaving his shirt off for a moment, he put his old clothes in the sink and began to wash them as best as he could.

That was when the knocks came to the door, he tried to quickly finish washing his shirt, but the door opened before he could. Jumping at the sudden intrusion, he slipped on the wet tiles and fell, head and shoulder hitting the wall rather hard. Letting out a raspy huff, he looked to the open door, rather embarrassed. Shifting to bow from his place on the floor, he glanced up after a moment, motioning for them to give him a moment as he stood carefully and turned to finish washing his clothes and hang them over the shower door to dry. He didn’t move to put his shirt on until after, giving them a full view of his scarred torso. The scars were pale, like the rest of his skin, but still prominent and painful looking.

Slipping his shirt and cloth slippers on, he shuffled over to stand in front of them, bowing again, still red in the face from embarrassment. He hoped he wouldn’t be punished for this. He was honestly trying to do something that would keep him from being a burden to others. He would have to make sure not to sleep so long from now on. Which shouldn’t be a problem in all honesty. He usually woke well before dawn, he was just so tired after yesterday and the bed had been so nice, so warm.

Neither Rosetta nor Cris said anything in that awkward period of time. She had opened the door and the sight that had greeted them was...well, that. Eyes slightly wide in surprise the two looked at Galan, at his sloppy fall they did give a wince and then tried to recover from that sight. A few silent minutes skipped by and Cris turned his head slightly to one side, pressing his finger against his bottom lip. Honestly he felt a chuckle coming on but he did not give in to it for Galan's sake. He dropped his eyes and looked at something else, as if believing he may be able to stifle the urge if he focused on something else. He heard Rosetta awkwardly clear her throat. "As I was saying: breakfast awaits." After she repeated this she let out a soft choked gasp, and Cris raised his eyes again--curious as to what would draw a reaction like that from the woman. He partially thought she was upset over something small like a messy bedroom...or something. When he did lift his eyes they fell upon the scars the young male bore and his eyebrows drew together.

They were so painful to look at. He wondered what sort of person had felt it necessary to inflict injury upon Galan. What sort of things had set them off, had it been in good reason, or had it been over trifles? Distracted and disturbed the blond averted his gaze again. Rosetta surged onward, trying to remain as normal as possible. "Well at least you are awake." She said after a moment, acting as though she had not gasped mere moments before. "Come, the day has begun and you must be up and ready to do whatever must be done. Maybe we shall try your hand with yard work, the grass is looking somewhat tall today and the flowers need to be watered. It's nice out so it won't kill you." Cris rubbed the back of his neck, and finally spoke after a long bout of silence.
"Well you certainly aren't wasting anytime, he just got here yesterday."

Rose smirked, "The earlier the better. If he turned out to be a failure all it would have done was whip him into shape nice and early."

Rose glanced from him to Galan, speaking of yesterday... "Cris spoke about how good of a job you did last night, good. Now I know we do not have a klutz on our hands." Two hands grasped her shoulders playfully,
"You also have no reason to try and get rid of him either." Cris piped in and she flushed heavily and looked in another direction. Cris walked by her, "Actually now that I think about it, I'll have to take him away from you for a bit." Rose sputtered out a 'why' in response and Cris looked at her as if it were obvious. "Rose he has absolutely nothing. You don't really expect him to go about today with absolutely nothing, do you? He can only make due with what's available for so long."

Galan would be stuck borrowing other peoples clothes probably, eventually, and then there was the matter of the more simpler things like a toothbrush of his own. Today seemed like a good time to take care of that, especially since a chunk of Cris's schedule was all but vacant today. Rosetta knew he was right about Galan having nothing, fixing that problem probably wasn't on top of her list though. Galan was a slave after all. "I suppose you are right," she sighed. "So shall I order something for him after getting his measurements?"

Cris shook his head,
"There's no point in that." He walked around Galan and gently placed his hands on his shoulders to get him moving toward the door; Rose's intimidating form would surely keep him grounded to that spot otherwise. "I think I'll just take him shopping. I have time."

⊁⊀Galan⊁⊀

Galan was a little spooked by the gasp, not really understanding what had caused it. Glancing around quickly, he tried to see if he’d left something out, left something undone, but even his bed was made and pressed. His search was interrupted when Rosetta continued. Turning wide eyes on her, he slowly straightened at her words, nodding quickly at the orders. He could do all of that. He actually liked working outside, he wasn’t always let out of the house so it was a treat to him really. He reached a hand up to rub at the side of the head that he’d hit, his head and shoulder giving a little throb.

He was a little surprised by Rosetta and Cris’ exchange however. The mention of whipping him into shape, caused Galan to shift uncomfortably, but he didn’t react more than that. Smiling slightly at the praise, he looked between the two to make sure they were actually saying these things about him. When Cris went on to say that he wasn’t going to be gotten rid of, his smile brightened even more. So he’d actually have the opportunity to stay in this wonderful house and be given more freedom and things than he could ever hope for. However, Cris continued to speak and moved closer to him, causing Galan to back off a step, unsure of what was going on. He stilled himself after that, remembering that he couldn’t run from his master.

Frowning at the continued conversation, his eyes widened and he looked between them. After a second, he quickly shook his head. He didn’t need anything. He was already being given far more than he deserved or expected. Rosetta seemed to agree with that, and he wished he could agree with her, but he found no way to express that. When Cris circled behind him and began to move him forward, he put up a slight bit of resistance at first, wanting to stop this plan and not really liking the thought of moving passed the disapproving form of Rosetta, but he ended up moving all the same, not wanting to upset Cris and realizing that even if he wanted to, Cris was far too strong for him.

Hearing that he’d be shopping with Cris, he turned wide eyes at him, navy eyes confused and clearly nervous. This wasn’t anything he knew or expected. What was he supposed to do? How was he supposed to behave? He really was more than satisfied with what he had, thrilled with it actually. Sure, they said he had nothing, but that wasn’t true. This was more than he’d had in years, ever since he was kept as a pet when he was a child.

"Mr. Luca are you sure?"
Cris let up on his guiding of Galan, he wasn't sure why she sounded so uneasy, unless it was the fact that he was going to spend his own money that upset her. He had plenty of funds, more than he knew what to do with actually. So spending money on Galan was nothing, it was a small matter to him, and he was feeling generous. Besides this wasn't the first time he had spent money on another person, everyone in his household had receive a gift from him at least once. Birthdays, special occasions, get well gifts--and Cris was not cheap either so he always got expensive gifts. They would say there was no way they could accept his gift, numerous times, but in the end they usally accepted them. Galan likely had never been properly cared for, so there was no harm in this. There was no rule in the book saying he couldn't do alittle spending.

I'm just getting him what he needs, the man had spoken to himself in his head. He did not want to think he had some other intention--other than being kind. He never got too wrapped up in such affairs, mostly he treated everything likes business...somewhat. Only his speech seemed somewhat informal. Galan worked and lived in this house...so he needed clothes, as far as Cris was concerned buying him what he needed was part of his..'contract.' Rosetta seemed to think otherwise. "Yes clothes are necessary, but there is no need in going wild." She gestured to Galan, "So long as it fits him, anything will do."

The blond was not blind to the slight resistance he felt from the younger male, as they moved toward Rose who stood with her hands on her hips. Cris looked down at Galan.
"Relax. I make so much in a year spending it on you won't put a single dent in my account. There's no need to be nervous, I'll handle everything if that makes you feel better. You just need to let them take your measurements and try on a few things." He glanced up at Rose, gave a sigh that indicated he didn't feel like arguing. "Rose I want to do this, that is why I suggested it. Please stop trying to talk me out of it." Unceremoniously he guided Galan past her, out of the room and down the hallway.

The plump woman called after him. "But will you have time to bring him back? And what about that idiot brother of yours? He insists on seeing you soon." Somewhat nonchalantly Cris replied over his shoulder,
"He'll just return to the house when I do, I'll keep him with me instead of making Paul zoom back and forth--it's unnecessary."He didn't want his chauffeur burning up gas dropping him off, and then taking Galan home, and then coming back out to the studio. It would work out fine anyway. Galan was quite obedient so he likely wouldn't get in the way during his photo shoot or down at the studio when he was shooting scenes for the next few episodes of Nine Lives. Besides it could be fascinating watching him work, maybe Galan will take in interest and enjoy it or learn something. It surely wouldn't hurt for him to remain with him.

"As for Lawrence, tell him I'll meet him tomorrow for breakfast." Well that solved that. Rose gaped at them from all the way back at the doorway but Cris continued to guide Galan down the stairs--away from her. The servants were roaming the house downstairs, the aroma of breakfast wafted through the air.Mostly everyone they saw were holding plates of breakfast: eggs, bacon, pancakes, flapjacks, then there were the occasional person who preferred waffles They too would eat their breakfast and be on their way. The actor's hands left Galan's shoulders and he shoved one hand into his pocket. "By the way are you okay, you hit your head and shoulder pretty hard back there." He almost reached out and rubbed Galan on the his head, to try and soothe the sore spot on his head, but he stopped himself. No need in him getting too personal with him, he had already invaded his space a bit. And Galan still seemed a bit jumpy like he expected him to attack him or something.

Galan continued to look between Rosetta and Cris as they spoke. He really didn’t like being stuck in between them, especially about a situation he had no clue about and really wasn’t thrilled about being put in. He appreciated that Cris was actually deciding to do all of this, but this much generosity was uncomfortable for Galan. He was just happy with a single outfit and a warm, dry corner somewhere to sleep. Now he had two changes of clothes, an entire room and bathroom to himself, and a house that was allowing him to work a variety of tasks, and none of them seemed to be set out to embarrass or demean him. This was heaven. Anything more began to make him suspicious.

Glancing at his master when the man tried to reassure him about money, he bit his lip. It wasn’t a money thing, he was sure that Cris was wealthy, for the man to have as many people working for him as he did, then Cris had to have a pretty substantial income. He knew that. But he wasn’t comfortable with people buying him things period. Money shouldn’t be wasted on a slave, especially not one who was already more than satisfied with what he’d been given. That money should be going to the actual workers, or to things that Cris wanted or needed. He simply nodded in response however. It didn’t seem like anything would change Cris’ mind, and he couldn’t resist or argue with his master’s wishes, so he’d just have to go with it and hope that it didn’t cause trouble.

Letting himself be led out, he didn’t look back when Rosetta called out again, but he was a little shocked at Cris’ words. He was supposed to be working! He was sure Rosetta actually had a list of tasks for him, so how could he stay with Cris? Perhaps they’d make him work through the night? Not that he minded of course, but he’d actually enjoyed sleeping in a soft, warm bed and had been hoping he’d get that enjoyment again tonight. Of course Cris’ reason seemed sound, but he still hadn’t thought that he’d be with Cris all day. He didn’t even really know what he did. Would he be hidden under some desk for the day? He’d had that experience before and it wasn’t at all thrilling. He could feel Rosetta’s surprise, which probably rivaled his own, but he didn’t look back, not wanting to see her face, not wanting to have the urge to resist again.

Eyeing the people walking around, he could see and smell the food, but he didn’t pay much attention. He wasn’t sure if he was allowed any, so he didn’t get his hopes up. And he was honestly not as hungry as he normally was. Even though he’d only had the one meal yesterday, it was still more than normal and he could go a while without food now. Looking to Cris when he spoke, Galan lifted a hand to his head, wincing slightly. His head and shoulder were throbbing, and he’d have a nice bruise by the evening, but, he gave a small nod. It wasn’t anything Cris needed to worry about. As they reached the dining room, Galan paused, both amazed by the food and unsure of what he should do. Should he wait to serve Cris his breakfast. Was there a special plate waiting in the kitchen for his master? As he was looking around, he caught sight of some fruits and berries and stared for a moment. He always liked that type of food. It was rare for slaves to be given fruits or berries, so they were delicacies already, and with Galan’s heritage, it was the type of food he naturally preferred.

Well he seemed fine, but if he needed any ice later Cris would happily provide it. Surely he could heal faster than the normal person though, right? He could heal other people, did it work the other way around to...for himself? With Galan following him Cris entered into the kitchen and dining area; mostly only the chefs were working at this hour, preparing food for the other staff members. The maids, and servants and such would not be doing their share of work until after breakfast had come to pass. They did greet them when they came in, much like they had greeted them at dinner last night. This time around Cris didn't have anyone bring him food as if he were as important as the Pope. He actually got it himself and ate while chatting friendly with the people sitting and standing around in the dining area.

He hadn't been sure what Galan was looking for, but he did notice how he had been looking at the fruit. Cris spoke to one of the females seated at the table, she was nearly done with her breakfast and after he spoke to her she got up and ventured into the back of the kitchen for a moment. When she returned she had a plate. She stacked it with plenty of fruit and handed it to Galan.

"Here ya go. If you want some just let us know. It may be hard to believe or hard get used to, but you can have whatever you want here so you don't have to be shy about it. Cris would have let you have some if you had made it clear to him. That reminds me..." She pursed her lips a bit after she had all but plopped the plate down in Galan's hands. "Did you enjoy your rest last night? All the beds are thoughtfully picked out. They are super soft, I'm sure you noticed that." She giggled, her smile lightening up her face.

The others went on talking, almost like family, and they did not mind Cris hovering nearby listening in on the conversation. They openly conversed with him as well, which some would think was odd for a master and staff relationship. Then again Cris wasn't like other masters, he didn't consider himself a master either.
He continued to hang around in the kitchen area, eating and checking in on his house staff. Little by little they finished up and eventually went off to do their separate chores. James the butler went off to do small tasks, mostly he was making arrangements for a little soiree that was going to be held on the weekend. Valentine the quiet gardener went off to handle the garden. It was mostly him doing the outdoor chores, it was time consuming and the land all around the house was huge; it was why other members of the house periodically went out and gave him a hand. Valentine planted the flowers, everyone else helped him out when it came to maintaining them and the rest of the yard, hence why Rose had been close to tossing Galan out there today.

The house servants and maids went about sweeping the dust on the floors, cleaning the kitchen, and putting plates away. Some of them went to make beds that hadn't already been made, while others gathered laundry that needed to be washed. It was when things were starting to get busy that Cris led Galan out of the house. First they were going to handle his wardrobe issue.

Paul was outside waiting for them in a Rolls Royce. Before Galan even got inside Cris gave his chauffeur a stern look.
"Paul..." The man laughed,"Okay, okay I got ya Cris. No fast driving." Cris smiled softly and shook his head; he wasn't sure if he should be concerned about that smile or not. The blonde stood aside and gestured for Galan to climb inside first, and then he did. He closed his door, and Paul turned and looked at them. "So....where to?" Cris thought for a moment. "You know that store I frequently go to? Take us there." Paul gave him a thumbs up, "Alright, you got it!"

Galan had slowly found himself a seat, every move cautious, watching to see if he would be stopped. Sitting separate from the servants, he just watched everyone shyly, hands in his lap and eyes wide. Everyone seemed to be happy enough here. Could Luca really be so pleasant to work for? And there didn’t seem to be any competition between the people, so was there nothing to be concerned about? And Luca even talked to the servants. There didn’t seem to be any fear from them. Sure, they treated him with respect, but they didn’t shy away from him and freely included him in conversations. How strange……He’d never seen a master like that. Sure, he’d heard rumors of them, even met slaves that claimed to have been owned by one, but he’d begun to think kind masters were a myth. Everyone turned bad when given that much power.

Jumping a little when a woman placed the fruit in front of him, he looked up to her. Smiling when she went on to say that he could have the fruit if he wanted, he bounced forward ever so slightly. He loved fruit. Being given some was more than just a treat to him. Giving her a bright smile in thanks, he quickly grabbed a grape and popped it in his mouth, savoring the flavor as she continued to speak. Nodding quickly, he mimicked sleeping, hands folded under his cheek before wrapping his arms around himself in a hug. He appreciated the bed. It was comfortable and warm, and he felt amazing after having slept in it for the night. He smiled as the woman continued to chatter, just listening to her. He didn’t mind people talking to him. It was better than them getting angry with him. And he honestly liked hearing about others. It was nice to know others had pleasant lives.

Galan ate slowly, savoring every piece and not wasting any. He was honestly feeling a little sick by the time he’d cleared his plate, but he couldn’t help but eat it all. Even if the lady had said he could have it when he wanted, he couldn’t be sure. Looking up when it was time to go, he quickly fell into step behind Luca, not making him repeat himself or get annoyed by any distraction or tardiness on Galan’s behalf. Fidgeting as Paul and Luca spoke, he hesitated for a moment when Luca opened the door for him. What if he was taking him back and just acting so Galan wouldn’t resist? He didn’t want to go back, he liked the glimpse of a better life he’d gotten. Even if he’d been kept locked in a room for most of the day before and even if Rosetta thought him less, along with many of the staff he supposed, he hadn’t been hit or screamed at. They’d treated him as a human for the most part. He couldn’t fight a master though, so he slowly slipped into the car, sliding across the seat to press against the other door, giving Luca as much space as possible. Watching his master get in, he glanced at the driver, but didn’t really respond or try to draw attention to himself. Bringing his knees to his chest, he stayed in the corner, eyes drifting to the window as the car moved, watching the scenery pass, curiosity written across his face.

Before long they pulled up to a fancy looking boutique, which had men and women's clothing on display in the windows. When he got out Cris told Paul he could take off and burn time until they were done, or come in, either way this was likely going to take some time. Paul decided he'd go run an errand and told Cris to give him a call when they needed him to come back.

Leading Galan into the establishment Cris looked around at the clothing that was in stock. This place was one he came by frequently, for various reasons. His house staff seemed to like their clothes very much, and pretty much all of them had something from here, though it was quite expensive. They hadn't been there long when a pair of women came their way. One had long flowing blond hair and fair skin, the other was tanner with chestnut colored hair that was cut short.

"Mr. De Luca you've come back!" They called as they approached, but he waved his hand.
"Please, there's no need for the formality. I think I've told you before that you can call me Cris."
"Oh yes, that is right." The blond giggled, "We seem to always forget. I guess we are just so pleased that you come back from time to time, it fills us with pride. Why have you come?"

Cris gestured to Galan. "We're here to pick out a wardrobe for him." The women's eyes lit up when they saw him. "Oh my gosh he's sooo cute!" They crowded around him and observed him closely. They complimented his hair and eyes, the shape of his face and facial features, and things you wouldn't have ever thought a person could receive compliments for. Cris had to warn them that Galan does not speak ahead of time, so when he remains silent even as they ask him questions they won't be surprised.

"Honey we can dress you up so well. Even Ken will be jealous!" The brunette said. Wait...was she talking about the doll Ken? Cris resisted the amusement he felt watching the two women fuss over Galan. "He needs alot of clothes to choose from because he doesn't have anything right now, aside from what he is wearing. Hopefully we will leave here today with a extensive collection."

He saw a cushioned chair and walked over to it.
"Hmm, is there anything in particular you are looking for?" The blond asked. Cris shook his head. "Not quite. He pretty much needs everything, a jacket, pants, long and short sleeved shirts..."

The women clapped their hands. "Leave it to us. We have plenty of ideas for this little cutie. Don't we Jillian?" The brunette said to her partner in crime. The blond nodded her head energetically. "I believe we do Angelica. My mind is coming up with loads of combos that would looking jaw dropping on him."
Cris laughed and settled down into the chair. He crossed the ankle of one leg over the thigh of the other.
"I leave it to you then. I'll be over here out of the way. I will just observe." The two women ushered Galan off to try on clothes. Cris watched from his position. He hoped Galan wouldn't dislike this too much. He didn't seem to like being fussed over...

As the car drove along, Galan had relaxed a little, uncurling a bit and actually showing interest in the things they passed. He wasn’t taken many places, so it always amazed him to see the world from a car window. There was so much more out there that he couldn’t dream of, places he didn’t even know the name of, people he’d never meet, and lifestyles that baffled him. There were families that lived without slaves or servants, and yet they weren’t serving anyone else. He’d met one or two before, but he had no idea how they could live. He’d even heard of places for runaway or newly released slaves, places they could go to be safe, to be taught how to live without masters. Of course he was positive they were myths. That was even harder to believe than people who lived without any connections to slaves and servants.

He was almost sad when the car stopped. Slowly following Cris from the car, he frowned at the store they entered. He could tell everything here was of fine quality, meant for masters and mistresses, not slaves. This certainly couldn’t be what Luca wanted to buy for him. He simply trailed behind his master in silence, hands clasped tightly behind his back to keep from being accused of touching anything or messing up. He just looked around absently, not even noticing the clothes. Head snapping around at the approach of the women, he looked to the ground as they talked. It wasn’t until Cris motioned towards him that he looked up, clearly stunned. The next thing he knew, both women were fawning over him and he had to take a step back, shrinking away a little. Sure, they weren’t hurting him and seemed nice, but they were too close, touching, and pulling him to look him over. He didn’t like this at all.

Eyes finding Cris as he moved away, there was a moment of panic until he realized he was just sitting down. He was really going to be getting a whole wardrobe? From this place? His plain black outfit was just fine, it was useful, fairly sturdy, and easy to wash and dry. How he wished he could try to convince Cris to stop this, show him that he was satisfied. But instead he was being ushered off to a curtained off area, one of the women already retrieving clothes for him. They began to make him change into various outfits, being very specific about what did and didn’t go together, never letting him put anything on more than twice. They would bring him out every now and then with clothes they found acceptable so Cris could see and comment if he wanted.

It quickly became obvious that some outfits just didn’t work for the young man, and he was a little more difficult to dress. Many of the clothes swallowed him whole, some styles had to be forgotten so his scars and bruises wouldn’t be seen, and whenever he managed to spot a price tag that had overwhelming numbers he simply refused to even try the clothes on. Layered outfits, similar to school uniforms, or with various jackets, sweaters, and hoodies proved to be adorable on him however. There even came to be a color pallet of navies, blacks, and a few pastels. Overall they just managed to make him look cute and innocent with the clothes, everything else not fitting him or accentuating his unease.
