Taking a drink of her own lemonade and happy to find out that it wasn't as sour as she was expecting, the young woman looked over to the werewolf when he asked his question about their agenda. "Over-ea...oh." Her confused expression lightened a bit and she smiled, just a twitch of the corners of her lips up, and shrugged a bit. "It depends if I can make someone listen to me or not. I suppose it would be best to assume you'll be with us for a while, if only so you aren't disappointed when you end up with us longer than you thought," Rayen told him. It was the most amused she had looked in months and the golem watched approvingly, his expression looking between the two. It seemed that he was considering something, or perhaps merely thinking of it, but either way it was clear that he was busy with his own thoughts at the moment and that they concerned the pair in the kitchen. Tucking some hair behind her unscarred ear, the nephilim leaned against the counter as she thought herself. "Oh, thank you for the lemonade," she added, as if just realizing she hadn't thanked him and sounded a bit sheepish about it.

The golem smiled a bit at that, seeing his mistress relax some. But he could also see the dark circles beginning to form under her eyes and could see the exhaustion in her body. She needed to get sleep and wouldn't, not so long as Broddi was speaking to her and wanted to talk. The nephilim would consider that rude and it was the reason they had golems or guardians - otherwise they would always put themselves last and that often resulted in injury or illness of some sort. "You need to get sleep, lady. We have an early flight tomorrow," he chided her gently, shifting just a touch in his seat. To the werewolf it probably only looked like he was adjusting himself, but Rayen knew what it was. The golem was more than ready to get up and physically tuck her into the bed if he had to. She sighed and finished up her lemonade, rinsing the glass out in the sink. "All right, all right," she said with a sigh, looking over at the golem. He looked pleased with himself and she wrinkled her nose at him in protest. "No need to look so smug," she added, before glancing up at Broddi. "Where are you going to sleep?" she asked him, but Eysteinn answered for him, a slight frown appearing on his face. "He will be sleeping on the couch," the golem said, his tone booking no argument. Blinking at him, Rayen just nodded. It wasn't as if she was trying to get the werewolf in bed - she was too innocent for that, too sheltered to even think about it. She was simply asking a question to get an answer. But the golem didn't trust the werewolf when it came to things like that, he didn't trust anyone, and had no problem bullying him a bit if he had to.

Going over to the bed, a yawn suddenly cutting off any other protest she had, Rayen climbed in and curled up under the blankets. She hugged a pillow to herself a bit and despite it being a strange bed in a strange place, the young woman was sound asleep in a matter of minutes. Eysteinn nodded to himself as he watched her breathing slow down and even out before looking back to Broddi. "It is my job to protect her, even from herself," he explained, though it wasn't much of an explanation at all, really. He shrugged slightly, a human gesture he enjoyed, and gestured towards the couch. "You should sleep as well. We have a short flight tomorrow morning, a few hours, but then a long day. Have you ever been on an airplane?" he asked the werewolf, making himself comfortable in the chair as he watched him closely.

And if you ever find the time...

...You know I'm not far behind.

And if you ever need someone...
.´¯`.••.´¯`.••.´¯`.••.´¯`.••

Listening to Rayen, Broddi pondered for a moment and gave a small shrug. "Traveling is good. Just as long as I have a room or basement or something sturdy enough for me to go all bonkers in while not harming anyone in--" He looked down to his empty hand and counted silently with his fingers before looking back up to her. "--eight days." It was strange. He would gladly talk about practically anything...except for when he changed. No matter. When he finally thanked her, which he was not waiting for or not unexpecting it, he gave a small smile and nodded in silence. Something his uncle told him long ago--when he and his cousin were still kids and had a liking of one another. "Boys. Silence does not mean consent. If there is some kind--any kind--of bond between you and the other person, it means gratitude. Gratitude and appreciation does not mean it needs to be spoken; just acknowledge it and move on. Just know, though, that the person respects you on some level."

Briefly lost in his own thoughts, the Golem assumed it was perfect timing to ring the midnight hour bells as he suggested to Rayen to sleep for now. Early? Flight? It was not the latter word that got to him, but more of the fact of the former. Apparently, though, Eysteinn wanted to be his voice for the moment as he answered the woman's question in regards to sleeping arrangements. Honestly, though, Broddi did not mind the couch--that was where he slept from time to time when he was out over in the gym. He could not help, though, but to give a side-shot glare over to the golem. He could answer things for himself now; but he was giving the benefit of the doubt--either the big man was thinking Broddi would say something provocatively witty or be catty about it. The man knew better than to do any of that when the two seemed exhausted.

Letting it be, Broddi gave a small slight wave to Rayen.
"Rest well." Possibility she would not, but there was that hope there would be some kind of good rest. Cleaning up any remaining mess in the kitchen and the used glasses, he would have felt terrible just leaving it be for the room-keepers to clean it up. Plus, it gave him something to do; even if it was only ten minutes worth of his time. Looking back over to Eysteinn, he nodded as he was coming to realize the golem could also be a spawn of a broken record. Heading over to the couch, he laid down on it and curled up a bit so that his legs would fit inside on the cushions as well. Settling himself onto his side, he scooted inwards against the back cushions before letting out a heavy sigh of relaxation. "After owning three jet planes and a helicopter? Nope, never been on an airplane." Broddi was not too sure if the sarcasm would be noticeable this late in the evening; but it came out naturally. Scratching the side of his head casually--something like an animal would do--a silent yawn came from him before shutting his eyes down for the night. "Flying is faster than driving, anyway." Most likely true in the end. With that, he was out like a light.

When the morning came--which was far too early in his case--Broddi, after the morning hygiene duties--went immediately to the kitchen and prepared himself coffee. Like anyone addicted to caffeine, they need it to keep themselves sane, not awake. It was instant coffee powder; but it was better than nothing at all. Not knowing whether Rayen enjoyed the morning brew, he instead found some earl gray tea pouches and brewed a mug of that for her. Most folks who enjoy tea usually like earl gray.

.´¯`.••.´¯`.••.´¯`.••.´¯`.••
...I'll still be waiting.

With a sharp gaze, Griffyn watched the woman like a hawk (oh god how he hated that metaphor but it was unfortunately very accurate at this moment). Her feet caused her pain, and if she was unable to walk then he would have to help her out, either by carrying or offering her support. Relaxing his shoulders only slightly when she seemed okay to stand, he lifted his chin up just a little more when she agreed to the terms he'd laid out. It would have been foolish for the woman to pass up a chance to be mildly free of pain and in a safe area for one night, in fact, Gryf didn't think he'd be able to leave the hotel with her if she hadn't listened to him. It would have shown him she wasn't able to handle a slave, let alone one that was deemed to be a mild danger even to herself. But, as Eliska said they would get someone to escort them to the bungalows and she would buy him things back in her home town, he shook his head barely - again, like he was ruffling feathers - and just nodded his approval. His eyes spotted her white knuckles on the back of the chair and canted an eyebrow, but didn't say a thing. Eliska was used to this pain, he could tell. It was a little unsettling that a woman had to get used to such pain, but it meant she was a strong character; Griffyn didn't think he could stand a weak Master, let alone a weak Mistress. There was hope for this to work yet.

Some curse words in a language he didn't recognise followed her little tale about people not wanting to see her disfigured feet. Well, he wouldn't argue with that, but he'd argue with the hidden undertone in her voice. There was disgust in her voice. Disgusting, in his mind, was reserved for such things as a rotting fish carcass, or a pile of rotted fruit that was all gooey and ripe - not in the good way. It looked painful, uncomfortable and cruel. He didn't believe she should feel disgusted when he wasn't, but it was her curse and her body, he had no right to change her mind about herself. Ignoring the woman as she put her shoes back on (he really couldn't care less if she walked barefoot or not since it was more natural in his mind) Griffyn didn't look back to the woman until she'd reached his door. Readjusting the sack now hanging over his shoulder, the being followed the redhead out his room and stared down the guard over her head. It was quite comical to see how surprised the guard was that a woman was taking him home and the gryphon took full advantage of that and kept a steady eye on the guard the whole way to the elevator. Walking next to but slightly behind Eliska was the starting point for her guard to get used to watching over another living being again. He was training himself to recognise her walk, body language and the way she looked from different angles so he would pinpoint her in a crowd. Yes, he was looming over a little bit, he was bigger than her after all, but that was somewhat unintentional. There might have been some underlying issues still lingering in the gryphon - mostly that of being an intimidating creature.

Griffyn stayed quiet the whole time, preferring to watch what was happening around him rather than making more noise. He desperately wanted to get out in the open air, and knowing that it was so close was making his attitude sour as moments passed on. Waiting in silence while his payment was processed, the male would have clicked his beak impatiently if he could. They had to wait to be shown to the bungalows? Really? Huffing through his nose slightly, Griffyn hovered near Eliska, but not over her. While it was only a few minutes wait, it felt like much longer to the grumpy, impatient gryphon and he gladly fell into step when they were escorted down to the bungalows. Getting out into the fresh air seemed to change Gryf, for once he took in his first lungful of unfiltered, totally natural air, his own airs of distaste seemed to melt away. His shoulders relaxed, the feathery covering of his ears smoothed down and even his hair seemed to sit flatter on his head. A hand was stuffed into his pocket as his new mistress tapped away on some funny looking device she'd pulled from her pocket (he had no idea what a mobile phone was, let alone how to use one), and Griffyn looked about. The bungalows were hard to see from the slave hotel windows, but the ocean view was quite nice. The ocean surrounding his home island had been beautiful, more beautiful than the ocean he was facing now, but he could still appreciate the smell of salt water in the air and the shift in air currents. Oh how he wished he could stretch out and fly right at this moment...

The happiness the gryphon felt was short lived when he saw the inside of the bungalows. The small open living area was quite nice, but looking through the open doorway to the bedroom beyond made him frown. One bed. There was a long window seat, and the couch in the living area could probably be folded out to be a bed, but it was still ruffling his feathers in a bad way that there was only one proper bed. Still, this was a slave shop in all honesty, so he wasn't surprised there was a bed for the paying customer. At least there were strict 'no sexual contact' rules that applied to the whole hotel land. That was a huge bonus in his eyes. Throwing his sack of clothing down near the french doors of the bungalow, Griffyn huffed a little and stared out over the ocean. "I'll take the couch out here. I don't like sharing a sleeping space with anyone and I'm pretty sure you'd rather not have someone accidentally kick your legs in the night." While he sounded blunt and uncaring, and incredibly uninterested, Gryf was actually slipping straight into his role as a guard for Eliska; the couch had the best vantage point, as well as being closest to the only entry and exit of the room, not to mention it was a straight path through a pair of bi-fold doors to the bedroom. Still without looking at the redhead with him, Gryf spoke once more before falling silent. "I'd like to shower before you sleep, so I would like it... Just let me know when you would like to sleep." Changing his tune a little from a demand to a slightly less rude request, Griffyn finally looked over to Eliska mostly just to see what she was doing. It was going to take some time before he warmed up enough to the woman to drop his attitude, but that would be a long time.

¤ ELISKA ¤
I used to think the fire was warm and beautiful.

Too stubborn to accept any help, the young woman walked stiffly next to her guard - though he refused to be actually next to her, she realized - as she followed the man to the bungalows. The ocean view surprised her and she took a deep breath of the sea air before turning her attention to where she was sleeping for the night. The fact that there was one bed was more of an inconvenience than anything else for her, as she had no intention of being sexually involved with the man she had just purchased. Still, she didn't intend to share the bed, or make him sleep on the floor. So when he volunteered the couch, Eliska felt a wave of relief that the issue had been settled so quickly. He was very...very curt, she guessed was as good a word as any to describe his attitude. But it didn't bother her much at all and the young woman nodded at his demand to tell him when she wanted to sleep. She dreaded going to bed, but knew the wards here would keep the burns from growing worse overnight. That was a small blessing.

"You can shower anytime you like, Griffyn. I'm going to be up for a little while," Eliska told him, stepping further into the bungalow and looking around before spotting the kitchen. It reminded her that she hadn't eaten, too nervous to before coming here, and she sighed. Her stomach was beginning to complain, so she headed over to the small cooking area and looked through the pantry. It was stocked with some basics and the young woman turned to look over her shoulder to the male. "Are you hungry? I haven't eaten, so I'm going to cook something. I can make enough for both of us," she offered, hardly going to eat and not even feed him if he wanted or needed it. Once she had his answer, she returned and began to boil a pot of water for the pasta she had found. It was easy enough, which was good since she didn't feel like she had the stamina to do much of anything for the rest of the evening. Just sit and...exist. Enjoy the dulled pain.

It was odd to have the man around, especially since he seemed to be the silent and grumpy type. Well, she'd get used to it, she reasoned as she sat down on one of the bar stools and stretched her legs out for a moment. Looking down at them, Eliska shrugged and kicked her shoes off, looking as they landed on the bed before propping her chin up in her hands with her elbows on the counter. Boiling water was tedious and drove her crazy, but she doubted this place had take-out or anything like that. And honestly, the young woman didn't feel like interacting with anyone at the moment. "What do you like to eat? Or do? My home is very large, so there'll be plenty of land for you to run around and fly, if you like to do that," she told him absently, as it had never occurred to her to make him keep the collar on and restrict his powers. For one thing - that made no sense if she wanted a guard. For another, it would be cruel to make him stay in human shape when he had another, natural form. It made sense, to her at least.

Not expecting the woman to grant him permission to shower so early, Griffyn just stared for a moment before shrugging. A shower was a shower after all, and it would relax him greatly. Wordlessly heading for the bathroom, he heard Eliska ask about food. Stopping in his tracks, the gryphon turned to face the woman. He found it strange to hear that someone hadn't eaten, since he was the sort of being that would eat regardless of if he was hungry or not, but he soon reasoned that being in pain probably made hunger pangs the last thing on her mind. "I can eat. Make enough for me." Again, his words were blunt and lacking any real feeling, but at least for a moment his eyes seemed to warm up. Griffyn would never really admit it, but he was always much more compliant when food was involved, and definitely more relaxed with a full belly. Not hanging around after that, the man headed off to the small bathroom at the back of the bungalow and locked the door. While he was a prideful and clean beast, he was always a little bit vain when it came to how he looked. Thankful that his "curse" forgot to include growing facial hair, he had never really grown to like the dark tufty bits of his hair that were probably remnants of his feathery "horns" that adorned his head in his true form. Spending a moment to find towels and body wash, the gryphon spent less time in the shower than one would expect, mainly since he'd showered upon waking and was just using this as an excuse to inspect himself after the removal of his collar. Plus he didn't smell so nice, and it was making him feel less than proud.

Stepping out of the shower right as Eliska asked him a question, Griffyn didn't answer right away. Drying off his hair and scowling at the dark fronds that immediately went back to their stupid position, Gryf dried himself off and pulled on half his clothing; his shirt didn't smell fresh so he wanted a clean one out his pack. Walking out to where Eliska was, he didn't care if he was shirtless, he felt more comfortable without a shirt on anyway. His torso though was covered in scars that were usually hidden under layers of feathers in his true form, long sweeping scars from sparring when he was younger and the more raised scars from a lifenof slavery. His torso, aside from the scars, was defined and toned, and devoid of body hair - again all thanks to his "curse". Pulling a shirt out of his bag, identical to the one he stuffed inside it, he pulled it over his head and finally answered her question. "Chicken. And fish. And red meat. I will eat most root vegetables as well, along with berries and stone fruits. And mushrooms, I'll eat them. But food is food, so I will not complain about what you serve me." Heading for the couch, he laid himself out over it, face turned to the ceiling. "As for what I like to do, I'm sure nothing at your residence will be able to provide me with what I need, but without seeing, I guess I'll stick with I like to read and I generally keep to myself." Griffyn didn't really want to let the woman know he liked to train and spar, but the chances of the woman having a fully kitted training area was quite low. He did add something extra though, stopping himself from sounding too blunt and thoughtless.

"Walking. I like walking too. So.. if you have any good walking trails, I can take you out sometimes. It's easier for me to enjoy walking in my true form though, so the trails better be secretive." Trying to avoid looking like he was being thoughtful, he instead settled for looking neutral, like it was just a normal suggestion. Perking up as he watched her ready the meal, his eyes almost looked like they were watching prey, like the eyes of an eagle watching it's next meal and waiting for the perfect strike. Unlike an eagle though, Griffyn knew better and waited for the woman to announce that the meal was served. Getting his serving, the man nodded a thanks and sat down on the couch cross-legged, holding the bowl up just under his chin. With actions that were almost graceful, the meal was quickly devoured and the gryphon seemed almost happy, like a content animal in a comfortable environment. The "thanks" he murmured only confirmed that - for the moment - the man was quite happy with his situation. It didn't really seem like it, but he was. The gryphon didn't keep his hopes up though, he'd been hurt in the past and held no hope for his future, even if this woman was maybe different from the others - it was early days still.

I used to think the fire was warm and beautiful.

Quite truthfully, Eliska thought those little tufts were rather adorable and giggled when she saw him glaring at them and trying to fix them. Clearly the gryphon didn't like then at all and she wasn't sure why, not understanding him in the least. But she made sure he didn't see her smiling when he returned to the main room, talking to her and explaining what he did and didn't like. At least some of it. Watching as he went to get a shirt, admittedly shocked at the amount of scars and wondering what sort of life he'd led up until now, the young woman remained on the bar stool while he dressed and laid out on the couch like he was at some therapist's office - and surely would have grown offended if he knew the mental comparisons she was currently making in her head, if only for her own amusement. Eliska wasn't sure what he would like to do, since he didn't tell her, but made a mental note to ask later. If he simply told her what he liked, then she could provide it if he was right and her residence didn't have what he wanted or needed. It wasn't as if she was lacking for money and she certainly didn't want a bored, violent gryphon at her home. That was a recipe for disaster.

"Walking is always nice. The trails on my land are all private and only I use them, so you may feel free to explore them in whatever form you want," Eliska assured him, giving him a small smile and her permission to do as he pleased when it came to walking around in his true form. She would love to see a real gryphon, but wouldn't impose on his privacy or his limited goodwill about asking. Getting to her feet with a sigh, she padded over to the stove as the water boiled and poured the pasta in, stirring it up to keep it from boiling over. It was a boring, mindless task, but it gave her something to do without going crazy. After all, even though he said he would take her out walking, she could hardly go anymore with how her feet were, and just growing worse. Saying that sounded like she was looking for pity, however, so the young woman remained silent as she drained the pasta once it was done, leaving it al dente so the male had something to chew on. Stirring in butter to keep it from sticking, she filled up two bowls and gave one to the gryphon, who was waiting patiently despite that odd look in his eye that made her wonder if he'd swoop down and take the pot from her without waiting. The fact he had manners enough to take the bowl from her before sitting down and eating was fairly surprising, simply because Eliska had thought he wouldn't care enough about human things to learn them.

She was quiet while she ate, not having much to say. Propped up on the bar stool again, her feet hanging loose rather than pressing against the bar on the legs, the young woman worked on her food with a halfhearted appetite, not really hungry. It was more something to do, something to keep a routine of sorts, rather than an actual desire to eat and feel better at this point. Once she was done, she set the dirty dishes in the sink, knowing someone would come and clean it up once they left, before looking over at the bed. "I didn't plan on spending the night," she murmured to herself, frowning a bit. She had nothing to sleep in, that was the issue, and could hardly sleep in what she had on now. Sighing, Eliska ran a hand through her hair and went into the bathroom. She took her clothes off, folding them neatly to be worn, and put on a robe that was hanging on the door for visitors. It was something, at least. Coming back out, she sat down on the bed, glad it was comfortable at least. "I'll just wake up early out of habit, so don't worry about getting me up." It wasn't as if she could sleep much with the pain in her feet anymore. Yawning, honestly tired and always exhausted, Eliska gave him a faint smile as she settled in the bed and pulled the covers up. "Good night, Griffyn," she added, laying down and curling up on her side, the blankets pulled almost up over her head.

Staring out the window of the bungalow, Griffyn watched the night sky. There wasn't much to really watch, and he couldn't really see the ocean properly from the small portion of window he could see through - he'd pulled the curtains aside a little - but it was better than staring at a ceiling. The pasta had been filling enough to last the night, but he knew it would benefit the two of them if he warned Eliska that he ate a lot of small meals across the day. Rolling his shoulders, he took a quick glance over at the woman he was to protect. She wasn't much more than a shapeless blob under the blankets, so he didn't feel creepy for looking, but he did frown. She was cursed to live with pain, and she still struggled to live a normal life. Given with the state her feet were in, he'd looked while they were eating to see just how bad they were while he had the chance, he was surprised she was doing anything at all. Shutting the curtain, he laid back down on the long couch under the window and folded his arms behind his head. It wasn't often he slept normal hours like humans did, but there were times when he'd just sleep because there was nothing to do. At least now he had a reason to have an interrupted sleep schedule, he had a guard job to do, yet it still wasn't sitting right with him. Yes, gryphons were notoriously good fighters and quite strong and stubborn, but dealing with a fire demon (was that even right or was his brain just dumbing things down? He couldn't quite recall.) was something much more than he had been trained for. Still, with a cocky smile, the male finally fell asleep, dreaming of better times on his island home.

Griffyn was fast asleep when Eliska woke, right on schedule for an early riser. Sprawled on the couch stomach-down, the male looked all limbs, but quite peaceful. If there was any time to view the male at his most vulnerable, now was the time. Eliska didn't have to potter around much longer, because Griffyn woke up only about an hour or so after her. Gathering his limbs close to his body, he rubbed his face and sat up slowly, mumbling something along the lines of "gunna 'ave a shower" before disappearing into the bathroom along with his sack of clothing. Using the time in the shower to wake up some more, he let the rather warm water drag the last bits of sleep from his body before drying his hair with what would turn out to be his trademark scowl at his tufts. Pulling on the same clothes as before since they smelt the best, he emerged and made a beeline for the fruit bowl on the small table in the bungalow. Grabbing two tart green apples, Gryf nodded an acknowledgment to Eliska and promptly devoured one apple. Aside from the inevitable crunch that comes with crisp apples, there was very little 'eating' sounds. Eating the apple core and all, he finally turned to the other occupant of the bungalow. "Were you able to get enough sleep?" Canting an eyebrow, for a rare moment the gryphon was actually showing concern. If she was tired, then her energy to keep her moving through her pain would wear thin much quicker. Given his questions were more about survival that heart-felt care, he knew getting back to her home was paramount.

When Eliska announced it was time to go, the man just shrugged and shouldered his backpack. He had no idea how they were going to get home, or where they'd be going, which was a little unsettling since he'd been in that hotel room for too long in his opinion. Drawing in a deep breath of the ocean air as they made their way back towards the hotel so they could exit, the gryphon had a sudden thought as they entered the lobby filled with all the tax-free shops. "Will I be able to get new clothes where your home is?" Gazing at her, waiting for a reply, his question - while worded nicely - still had the undertones of his true question: I need new clothes and you'll have to buy them for me. The woman seemed to be well equipped to handle his personality so far, something that made his features soften a little as they left the hotel for good, and it made him feel better to hear that they could indeed go shopping for new clothes. Knowing that walking to his new home was out the question because of his Mistresses pain, the only other option was to travel in a vehicle. Rolling his shoulders in an obviously uncomfortable motion when it clicked in his mind that he'd have to be in a car, he shook back his hair and pursed his lips. Keeping a cool head and a calm mind was something he had been trained to do long ago, but it didn't mean he liked being in a car or anything car-like. They were loud, smelly and cramped. Not his idea of fun, really

The young lady was escorted down a quaint wooden walkway over the deep, tropical blue seawater below, right up to the double doors of the large, luxurious, island-style bungalow that was to be the three's home for the night, complete with a walkaround deck, sprawling ocean-side patio and automatic tiki torches, already lit for the evening. The afternoon sunlight was a vivid, deep gold, flattering everything from the rocking waves, to the bare skin of her arms and legs, to her sundress, fluttering in the salt-scented breeze carried down the beach.

The thrumming base could be felt before they were half-way to the doors, but the music didn't become identifiable as swing till they stood in front of them. Holding the troublesome young woman lightly and professionally atop one shoulder, the guard lifted a fist and knocked firmly, three times.

Whether they'd actually be able to hear a thing over that music was anyone's guess, but then again, they were expecting her. Not ten seconds passed before the door clicked, and then was tugged inside, spilling the full strength of the music out onto the porch, and between it and them, a twin, long frame braced in the doorway on one high forearm, breathless, flushed from exertion and with the echo of a laugh still ringing across those striking, darkly gorgeous features.

"Hey Dory," he called back over his shoulder with drawling, malicious delight, slumping in close to his supporting forearm, high against the doorframe, to roll his head into it, a ghost of a feral grin offering a fleeting glimpse of white canines, boring those unnervingly direct, dark blues intensely down into her eyes. "Guess who stopped by!"

His hair was tousled, strands pulling askew from their sweep to an effect of effortless rogueishness, and he'd changed into loose lounge bottoms appropriate for a day by the sea-side, and a thin, lazily buttoned shirt, silk sleeves shoved up past his elbows.

The guard had maintained pressure at her shoulder, careful to discourage her from bolting at the last minute, and gave her now a gentle but firm push, encouraging her to step forward, as he spoke.

"Please enjoy your stay, and if--"

"Yep, yep," the twin interrupted laughingly, in a way that clashed unpleasantly with the derisiveness in his eyes, caring nothing for the guard in that moment, intensity all for that girl. He dropped a hand to the back of her neck, stepping aside to pull her from the guard and past him into the bungalow, "I think we can take it from here, bud. You take it easy now."

And with that, he released her in favor of grabbing the door, and throwing it with a relishing flare of his hand to slam bluntly behind her.

The other twin was not far across the living room, in his own zone, surrounded by the company of that overwhelmingly loud music, swaying languidly to it at half-pace, un-self-conscious.

The closer twin didn't plan to leave her time to adjust to the new surroundings, or give her room to scurry away this time, instead grabbing her once more, this time around her bare shoulders, pulling her with violent friendliness tight into his side.

"Come on in, come on in," he drawled, leering down at her slyly with a tight smirk sneering his nose, as he dragged her further into the room from the door, jostling her under his arm in an abrasive, boisterous kind of way, rubbing her bare upper arm briskly. "Make yourself comfy, kiddo, relax."

The inside of the bungalow was cozily decorated in suitably island fashion, the living room they were in featuring high ceilings, shiny, smooth wooden floors and warm lighting. There was a fireplace in the corner near the other twin, and a bar, the latter of which had clearly already been dug into, judging by the tumbler glass of melting ice-cubes and open liquor bottle lying on the counter.

Peyton took one final deep breathe before the door opened, the fast paced music immediately assaulting her ears the moment it did. There one of the brothers were in the doorway, as punchable as ever. She thought about how those haunting blue eyes would look like if they were swollen and complimented with hues of black and blue. The things she would do if she were given the chance.

The girls thoughts were interrupted abruptly when she was coaxed to step forward. She barely budged, but stepped inside once the twin guided her from her neck. The demon had just begun looking around when she was aggressively pulled against Everett's side. Her body stiffened and she sent him a look that let him know she didn't appreciate the forced chumminess. She jerked her shoulder up, trying to nudge his arm off. If successful, she'd try to step out of reach.

Though she didn't know his name yet, Peyton knew this was the guy she hit. She pointed to her cheek and raised a brow, a hint of a smile forming.

"Didja get some ice for that?", speaking loud enough so he could hear her over the roaring music. It was a terrible idea, but she wanted to remind him that she could and would hurt him.

He bared his teeth in a callous breath of laughter, stiff and not as nonchalant as he probably intended, the slightest narrowing twitch in his dark blue eyes, fixing closely upon hers with a glint of hostility.

"Cutie~," he growled tightly through that feral grin, with aggressively exaggerated warmth, as if endeared by a naughty child's joke. He responded to her firm wiggle by yanking her with nearly violent suddenness close in front of him, her back to his chest, squeezing her a little tighter than necessary by both upper arms as he continued to walk them forward his brother's way.

"She's a little jokester, isn't she?" he called brightly towards him, that unpleasant fake cheer impossible to miss even without facial cues. He ducked close over her shoulder, leaning his head and nose into her hair but staring darkly past her, up at his twin, while his breath grazed the shell of her ear, carrying with it the fleeting scent of alcohol.

"Say, you haven't really met my brother yet, have you? This is Dorien. Say hi!"

And before the last word was even out, he shoved her violently forward across the room. Dorien was ready to catch her, if not from tripping over her flip-flops, than at least from breaking her momentum fast enough to avoid him, snatching one palm out of the air and stealing her into his arms by her opposite shoulder blade, immediately ready to follow her momentum into a dance much more formal than what he'd been doing before. He led her as firmly as necessarily, an appropriate distance between their bodies at least, spinning her smoothly around the room to the music with a lazy smirk in those hooded, sardonic blue eyes. Everett was snickering idly, nose twisted up un-self-consciously in malicious amusement, gripping his arms loosely over his ribs.

One look at that faux cheerful expression on his face was all she needed. Instead of fear, Peyton was proud to have the power to actually piss him off. The happiness was short lived. With a gasp escaping her mouth, she was tugged in front of the twin, held captive as she was pressed forward to the other. He smelled of alcohol. The last thing these boys needed was liquid courage. She wrinkled her nose, both at the scent of the booze and the sight of the quieter brother.

Well, at least he had a name now.

Before she could utter a greeting or, even more likely, a sarcastic comment to Dorien, Peyton was shoved into his arms. She was sure her face would hit the wooden floor and was relieved he was there to catch her. That was as far as her gratitude for the contact went. Her heart was still pounding from the rush of adrenaline the near crash gave her and now she was being spun around the room like some ballerina. Though it was certainly annoying and a bit embarrassing, the impromptu ballroom dance was tolerable. Not to say that Peyton was a good dancer. This had to be the first time she danced since she was still living with her father, who also happened to be her last dance partner. She had to look down at her feet to make sure she didn't trip over herself or the twin who seemed to be gliding around effortlessly.

He didn't need her to catch up, though, perfectly fine to keep the tiny, cute little thing a step or so behind, forced to grip him for balance, pigtails drifting behind her as they swirled over the polished floor. He led aggressively, those deep blue eyes boring with intense, unnerving focus straight into hers regardless of where the latter were fixed, a sardonic glint lurking in their depths.

He changed directions suddenly not a minute in, stalking her backwards, a difficult enough thing to manage without flipflops, then stepped them suddenly to the side and pulled her palm high into the air, long fingers sliding up her skin till just her delicate fingertips were hooked, and tugged at her shoulder-blade, spinning her firmly under their arms.

His eyes had fallen past hers by now, drinking in the sight of her throat, her collarbones, her shoulder-blades, in that summery little dress. He was ready to catch her when her twirl finished, but grabbed her hand this time instead of her back, so that he held both, and instantly spun her again in the reverse direction, only this time he held on, turning her only to tug her heavily against him, back thumping against his chest, her arms pulled tightly across her own chest as if in a straight-jacket, pinned low around her waist. It made it easy for him to lean his mouth into her hair, inhale her scent deeply against his tongue, then laugh out a soft, shaky breath at her ear.

"-- You're cute."

He was gripping her wrists harder than necessary, enough to limit her circulation.

With the sudden change of direction, Peyton bumped nose first against Dorien. The collision, though small, made her recoil back, hurrying to keep the pace so that it wouldn't happen again. Just as she started to feel comfortable with that, he changed direction again, sending her spinning. The bottom of her sundress flared outwards, flowing gracefully to reveal more of her bare legs. The girls patience was wearing thin now, and gave the twin a look of protest. His cold eyes bore into hers which kept her from speaking up. She would have pulled away by now, but his hands firmly held hers.

With a strong yank, he had her pinned against his chest, her own arms keeping her in place. She let out a grunt on impact and winced at the tight grip Dorien had on her wrists. Peyton shifted uncomfortably in his grasp.

"Don't make me kick you.", she spoke in an irritated, unamused tone.

He let out a short breath of a laugh against her ear, fluttering her hair, and slid his hands slowly, firmly, from her wrists to her waist, squeezing it for just that brief moment after her release--

before he shoved her rudely forward, right back towards Everett, who was closing languidly in, ready to circle if she tried to bolt, body language that of a predator on the prowl, pinning her with that sardonic, glinting stare. He was too focused to maintain a proper smirk, and only a feral ghost of it haunted his expression. He was too intensely honed in on her, high off this, her fear and affront and the hot shine in her eyes, the tiny pretty thing, their new pet, their new toy, and all her endless possibilities.

He tsked tauntingly at her, like you'd beckon a kitty-cat, beckoning lightly with both hands, spread out wide to invite her in, an unnerving light in his eyes, a sick thrill lurking in their depths.

"C'mon then, kiddo!" he mocked her, smug voice raised to be heard over the music. "Let's see it. You wanted a fight, right? Well hey, I'm right here! Wide open, come on. Hit me. Hit me."

With the last shove, Peyton was sure she was going to fall before the day was done. Her hair danced over her shoulders and fell in front of her chest from the momentum as she stumbled to stay upright. She needed to take off these god-awful flip flops.

She looked at the other twin, who looked less of a human and more like a wolf. He took on a tone of voice that, to Peyton, sounded desperate. He wanted her attention and was fully expecting her to fall right into that trap. She gave the boy a condescending smile, but that was all the acknowledgement she would allow for the moment. Instead, she took off her shoes and left them on the floor, turning between the two and walk unhurriedly towards the kitchen.

"Is there any food in here, Dorien? I'm hungry.",she spoke, purposefully regarding the other brother specifically.
