Tuck had a feeling that these days of leave were probably going to be the best days of his life to date - despite the fact that Herryk was giving off some serious non-verbal vibes of disbelief. Tuck ignored the weapon for the most part, choosing instead to gently nuzzle Heidi before she pulled away.

"No, you." Smooth and romantic.

He chalked the giggle up to excitement, and offered a huge grin of his own. While Heidi situated her wallet, Tuck made sure that he had his as well - along with their room key card, despite the fact that Heidi had one too.

Her wallet was slipped into his pocket, and he brightened considerably when she mentioned food.

"Where we eating? I'm starving. I don't even know what kinda food to eat here, so I'm just gonna try everything. You got a place picked out?" Tuck reached out to take her hand, threading his fingers through hers as he ushered her out of the room. Taking a split second to make sure the door was locked, Tuck turned back to Heidi and kissed her fingers, flashing her a dimpled grin.

"I hope you were ready to go."

"Well..apparently the dish Valencia's most famous for or something is uh.." She let Tuck take her hand and drag her out of the room while she took her phone out of her back pocket to check the name again. "Paella? But the tech who sent us here said we should find a place in the market that serves empanadas, too. I didn't have a specific place picked for lunch, so we can just find something on the way if you want." Heidi put her phone away and smiled up at Tuck as he kissed her fingers.

Why will you not say it? Say it! It is right there! If thou opens her mouth the words may simply spill out of their own accord! T'would be easy! Matilda urged earnestly. It confused Heidi why for someone who was so against her being with Tuck before she was suddenly so supportive. Maybe it just made Matilda crazy to be in Heidi's head when she was constantly thinking about telling Tuck three important words.

Just. Say. It.

"Yeah, I was ready~. What if I hadn't been, hm? Terrible." She grinned, squeezing Tuck's hand as she stepped into the elevator and then leaned back against the wall, tugging Tuck to her.

Matilda's voice whispered in her head, say it now.

Oh my god Matilda stop it!

"I'ma eat some of that, and I'ma eat some of that other stuff too. A lot of it."

Tuck followed after Heidi, grinning helplessly at her when she teased about not being ready. He lifted his broad shoulders in a shameless sort of shrug as he settled himself against her. Lifting an arm, he braced himself against the wall of the elevator as he leaned down to press his lips to hers.

"I coulda been persuaded to head back to the room," he whispered as he broke the kiss. "Still could, if you really wanted."

His stomach protested with a sudden rumble. Tuck ignored it.

Herryk was giving off the sensation that he was rolling his eyes. Tuck ignored him, too.

If Tuck was being unnaturally terrible, he really couldn't help it. There was just something about being off-island with the girl he loved that drove him a little crazy.

<Theodore is driving Herryk crazy.>

Can it.

The doors slid open behind Tuck, but he made no move to release Heidi.

"You smell nice."
PostPosted: Mon Jul 22, 2013 9:42 am

"Nope," Heidi whispered back when he practically encouraged her to tell them to go back to the room. Nope. Nope. Not until she had to change for dinner, and even then she was going to be quick about it. It wasn't that she didn't want to. Oh no. The thought of going back to the room and just cuddling in bed with Tuck for two days was incredibly appealing to her, but at the same time she wanted to explore the city they were in. Who knew when they'd have a chance to come here again?

She nuzzled her face against Tuck, closing her eyes and holding Tuck close while the elevator traveled down to the lobby. He was so warm and comfortable. He was perfect.

Heidi felt the elevator stop and peeked around Tuck enough to see if they were at the lobby or on a floor to pick up another hotel guest.

Oh...the lobby. She giggled. "Thank you, you smell nice, too." She didn't want to let him go, and she didn't want Tuck to let her go either..

Oh! Idea! Heidi leaned back enough to grin up at Tuck. "If we don't get out of here soon someone else will call for an elevator and we'll be stuck. Maybe you should carry me~."

Tuck very lightly nipped at Heidi's lower lip before he reluctantly pulled away from her, his eyebrows lifting at her suggestion that he carry her. He wouldn't mind the odd looks they'd undoubtedly get, but Tuck knew the best thing to do would be to give himself a little time to cool down.

Just a little.

"Probably ain't the best idea," Tuck took her hand instead, giving a hefty sigh as he moved out of the elevator. "I'ma console myself with thinkin' about heading back to the room after we're done with all this food an' sightseeing we're about to do."

Because holy hell did he have a birthday wish, and it involved a certain lacy piece of lingerie he'd bought for her - he was awful, and he knew it, but goddamn - he was a simple man with simple needs.

"Which way we headin'?"
PostPosted: Mon Jul 22, 2013 11:20 am

Heidi tried not to look disappointed when Tuck decided not to carry her. Not even piggyback? Damn. "Okay~" she said cheerfully as she followed Tuck out of the elevator, but his words made her blush again and she her to bite her bottom lip to hide a smile. Console himself with thinking about heading to the room? And do what, Tuck? She squeezed Tuck's hand.

Once they were out she put on a pair of sunglasses she'd hung on the neck of her t-shirt. "Weee aaaaare heading this way," Heidi answered, pointing down the street and leading Tuck away from the hotel. Maybe things would relax once the hotel was out of sight and they were just enjoying sight seeing. "It was kinda hard to pick things just for two days. There's a lot to do just in this city alone. We should totally come here again sometime. We could even go dancing~." She raised their hands to twirl beside him, hopping on one foot to walk backwards in front of Tuck and take his other hand in hers. She remembered he said he didn't know how to dance, it didn't make the suggestion any less fun. "The market's nearby, you apparently can't miss it." It was her way of saying 'unless you make me turn around I'm going to see how long I can walk like this'. "Is there anything you wanna do while we're here? I'm flexible."

"Next month, maybe? Spain is a huge country, would be kinna cool to see all of it over a few months. Then again, world's a huge place - an' it would be even cooler to see more of it. I just wanna eat. Wherever we go, there's gotta be food there. This is a culinary vacation. I'ma eat everything."

He gave her a look that insinuated she was on the menu an instant before she twirled, and then Tuck squinted at Heidi as he did his best to steer her through the small crowd that had gathered for the market. The smells of food wafted on the air, and Tuck's mouth started watering.

"Dancing. You know how I dance. I got that mad sway."

The market came into view in the distance, and Tuck's face grew hopeful.

"I'm gonna eat so much. Heidi, I'm gonna eat all of the food, swear to God. Can we bring food back with us? I wish our room had a stove in it."
PostPosted: Mon Jul 22, 2013 1:26 pm

A culinary vacation. "..I wonder if portals can be expanded, because from the sounds of it I'm going to be rolling you home like that girl from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory." The original one with the girl who ate the gum and became a blueberry.

The look she was given had her grinning and squeezing Tuck's hand, kissing the air between them with a little giggle. She trusted him not to let her crash into anything or anyone. "I can teach you, s'not hard as long as you got rhythm."

Heidi looked over her shoulder when Tuck suddenly looked hopeful and she cheered. "Of course we can! We'll even bring food back to Deus. Our hotel doesn't make us check out until five tomorrow, so we'll have lots of time."

When they arrived at the market she finally turned to walk facing forward, releasing one of Tuck's hands so she could do so. There was a food cart not too far off with a crowd of people around it, one selling empanadas as she had mentioned they could find. "Oh! Oh! Over there! C'mon~!" Heidi reached back to grab her wallet out of Tuck's pocket, grinning up at him as she led him to the cart. Everything was in Spanish.

Welp. Good thing they weren't picky. "This is basically going to be mystery food. How many should we get?"

"Five million," Tuck whispered in awe as he almost drooled over the food. "Or two of each. For me. If you're nice, I'll share." He was feeling pretty generous. And cocky, if the grin on his face was any indication.

"I don't know much Spanish," Tuck admitted with a low laugh. "Friend back in basic taught me all the bad words, but I don't think that's gonna do us much good right here." He eyed the wallet, a sour look in his eyes. Heidi was doing this for his birthday, but it didn't set well with him, his girlfriend buying everything. He'd have to sneaky-buy something for her.

Super sneaky.

"Dos, dos, dos, dos," Tuck spoke to the vendor, pointing at the small display of pictures. The jolly little fellow immediately began preparing the order, and Tuck glanced down at Heidi.

"I don't get fat," Tuck chuckled, lifting his brows, "an' I can pay for this. Ain't fair that you pay for food when I'ma eat it all."
PostPosted: Mon Jul 22, 2013 2:21 pm

If she was nice, he'd share? Heidi rose a brow and looked up at Tuck with a look that said 'seriously?' That was cute, that he thought she wasn't going to eat anything. She caught the look in his eye though when she held her wallet and followed his gaze to what was in her hand. Eh? What? She wanted to pay for it, this was her treat. Seriously, she never spent her money, it was okay.

Heidi was about to insist she was fine paying for their food when he insisted he was eating all of it.

She gasped, looking up at him again with wide eyes. "You are not eating all of it. I get some, too!" Heidi protested with disbelief. He had to be joking. There was no way he could be serious. She didn't want all of it, these were really big! "Do you see how little I am?" Heidi asked as she pulled on the back of her shirt to tighten it around her middle and show her slight figure better. "I get at least three."

He was grinning as he watched her tug her shirt tight, and the smile slowly slipped off his face. She ******** made him crazy without even thinking about it, and it drove him nuts - in a good way, of course, but goddamn.

"I see how little you are."

Goddamn. Wasn't like he could forget it, it was part of her that he found incredibly sexy. Lithe and curvy in all the right places, yes please.

"Maybe two. Maybe.. Two anna half if you're nice to me, an' maybe three if you promise to do somethin' for me later. Nothin' awful, just. Somethin' that'll make me real happy."

Oh hell yes.

"We got a deal?"
PostPosted: Mon Jul 22, 2013 2:50 pm

She was always nice to him.

He won her over with 'make me real happy'. Heidi always wanted to do something that would make him happy! She practically lived for it! Heidi's pout became a huge smile, an excited one. "I'd do anything for you, Tuck. You know that." She slipped the vendor her card before she reached out to take Tuck's hand and kiss his knuckles, nuzzling her cheek against the back of his hand after.

Because I love thee more than life itself.

She blushed. Stop that!

"Deal. Three, and I'll do something for you later. When's later? Will I know?"

Tuck knew she'd do anything for him. He was still sometimes astounded by the depth of her trust. It caused his heart to hiccup slightly, and there was a small smile on his lips.

"I know, sweetheart." He watched her nuzzle his knuckles. He'd never felt like this for another girl, and that thought terrified him. Again. Every time he thought about spouting off those three words, something inside of him froze.

"I'll .. you'll know."

He saw that blush and his own cheeks turned a little pink. Aw, hell.

The vendor handed them a rather large paper bag, and Tuck took them with a grin. He waited for Heidi to get her card before leading his girl over to a small stone bench that was nearby.

And then he divvied that s**t up.

"You can take a bite out of the different kinds and take what you like best," Tuck allowed so very graciously, "because I'ma gentleman."
PostPosted: Mon Jul 22, 2013 3:16 pm

She'd know? Awesome. That made guessing when a little easier. She was very curious what it was.

Heidi had a feeling, but he had said there would be no pressuring, so she wasn't sure.

Her card was handed back to her and she took it with a polite thank you, pocketing her wallet in Tuck's pants herself before she followed him to the bench and sat down beside him. So there were eight of them, and she got three. She was totally okay with that. "Oh, you are most certainly the best gentleman. I don't have a preference, honestly. Just any three will do. Besides, don't you think it's cheating if I take a bite out of all of them and then eat three whole ones? I'd owe you another promise." Heidi turned so her legs draped across Tuck's lap, sitting close beside him and waiting patiently for him to pick three empanadas for her. She was serious, she really didn't care what ones she got.

Tuck chuckled softly and rummaged around in the paper sack, withdrawing one empanada at a time so that he could be sure she got three different ones. They were marked on the paper they'd been packed in, and he was relatively sure he picked an assortment for Heidi to enjoy.

Probably. Hell, he wasn't real sure.

"Ain't cheating if I say you can do it, an' I would even do it free of cost," because I love you, "because I'ma gentleman an' that's what gentlemen do. Sides," he nabbed his own empanada and took a huge bite, chewing and swallowing before he continued, "I got what I wanted - which was one promise from you - so I'm a happy man."
