News of the celebration had surprised Rhodesia. Away from her home by the beaches on yet another trip of pure curiosity, she had stumbled upon the messenger by chance one evening at a crossroads, and was taken aback when he had eagerly informed her of the gathering with no prompting at all. She might have politely declined, had she not discovered its close proximity to her home in the first place, and after a day or two of pondering, finally decided to turn back and attend. There was an ache in her heart for her homeland, and the knowledge of the event did nothing but stir up old memories and intensify her longing. There would be no harm in showing up. It was for everyone, wasn't it?
The Alicorn had returned home just a day or two before the celebration and prepared, her coat freshly washed and scented of jasmine now as she picked her way amongst the crowds that had already begun to gather and mingle. The red bow in her hair had been retied as well, turning her usually lose bundle of dusty green mane into something much more presentable. Wings pressed tightly to her back out of instinct, the mare craned her neck to get a good look at those around her. She yet didn't know many Soquili in these lands, but perhaps this celebration could help change that. A party? The prospect excited the young stallion, who had picked up the news by eavesdropping on a few other Soquili conversing about it near a small stream to the south, where the forests thinned out into the dusty plains. He almost didn't stay long enough to catch word that everyone was invited so long as proper behavior was maintained, but it would have mattered little to Lantian anyway. Showing up regardless of invitation, just to see what would have happened, sounded like a fun idea in and of itself, but it was still reassuring to know that at least he wouldn't be risking injury and insult. This time, anyway.
The journey had taken him a few days. He had no place to call home; wandered simply and went where the great powers at be took him, which often caused him to make constant detours and other deviances. So had he actually stuck to his path, he might've arrived sooner. No matter. He was there now anyway, sliding among the groups already gathered in an attempt to see where he might best integrate himself best. Celebrations were good for the mind and soul, after all.

A party was one place Kaia never thought she would go to, let alone it wasn't anything she honestly wanted to go to. Still, the young harpini had no way of knowing what lay before the curve of the river as she reached weaved through the light amount of trees that covered this area. Ages ago she had sent her loyal hawk Davkas ahead to alert her father and any family visiting him that she would soon be arriving. Without her eyes and ears in the sky Kaia was going solely off of memory, something well..she wasn't quite use to these days as she didn't travel in these parts often. Unknowingly she had traveled into the southern most territory of the Vitterfolk tribe. She honestly had started heading to the banks of the E-qua U-na-de-li-i lake to get a drink and cool off before heading off to finish her trip.
With her body moving towards the smell of fresh running water on it's own as she was lost in her own thoughts. So lost in fact Kaia didn't even see the upcoming event before her. Even the strange large amount of noise wasn't really phasing her though her rainbow colored headwings fluttered when a sudden loud noise jumped from the party to the surrounding area. What finally snapped her out of her thoughts is a falling flower from the welcoming arches landing on her nose. Stopping dead in her tracks Kaia blinked rapidly before shaking her head to get the overly sweet smelling flower off of her muzzle. What she saw before her eyes caused her to gasp, her ears pinning back as she went to go where she came from. Pausing for a moment she casted a look back over her shoulder. It would be silly to go back now. She would only be not only wasting the energy she spent getting here but would waste time by going around the large gathering. No, there was only one way to go. Kaia would have to go through the crowd.
Stepping forward she braced herself as she moved into the party. Kaia had gotten better over the years but still she was not the most sociable of soquili. She would take hanging back and letting others do the talking for her any day; even more so if she was among strangers. Still, there wasn't any harm in watching and listening why she made her way through, was there? Besides, she was curious as to why all these soquili were gathering in this one area in the first place.

Mairéad heard the singing and, after checking to make sure her mother no longer needed help she went to investigate. Listening to the small usida sing she smiled a welcome and then started dancing in time with the music, enjoying the quick spontaneity of the moment. While she loved her mothers singing, this was a new kinda of tune. She skipped along to the music, adding in her own beats with her hooves.
Ysiel turned and smiled at her daughter next. "Good day Tok'kal, ready for the festival?" She flicked her wings once before glancing over to the large herd made of so many different soquili that was gathering. "Malis would like to see you take care of the southern area with your brother. I'm sure you two can keep out of trouble for long enough to take a keen watch out for anyone who may disrupt the celebration." Ysiel chuckled softly, knowing they would at least try to keep the Vitterfolk line respectful for the day.

Amitola had been enjoying a nice morning of munching lakeweed and pondering which of her shinies to polish next when something tapped her on the sensitive fin behind her ears. At first, she thought it was just a pebble knocked loose from the shore far above her, but the tapping was persistent. Spinning on the spot, she spotted the distinct red-tipped mane of her daughter and the extended hoof that had been poking her on the back of the head. Squealing in excitement, Ami wiggled her tail to get close enough to give Illy a hug - putting her neck gently across the mare's shoulders. It felt like forever since she'd last seen her - she was much more grown up now, or at least she looked it. Still pretty as ever, though. "Why are you here?" she asked. "Of course you don't need an excuse to come see me, but it's been so long!"
Illy grinned as she returned her mother's hug, half from the fact that she'd gotten away from poking her and half from sheer joy to finally see her face. "I missed you," she replied. She took a dramatic pause. Of course, she'd always loved to come visit her childhood home, but after spending so long in the sea, it'd taken a lot of time in the estuary at the bottom of the river before she was conditioned enough to take the freshwater again. "There's also a par-tay going on upstairs, if you hadn't heard yet?" she asked, gesturing upwards with a tilt of her head. "The messenger caught me sunning myself on a rock - I know, I know, it's dangerous, birds will eat me - and told me to come up if I wanted some fun. I needed a break from treasure hunting, you know," she said, wiggling her eyebrows. "Also, I think I brought somebody you know? He says he's a cousin or something."
Ami looked around wildly when Illy mentioned a party and then a relative. How could she not hear the hoofbeats reverberating? Who knew, maybe she was too far down... "A relative?" she asked, looking around Illy to see if there was anyone hiding behind her. Nothing. Peering into the lakeweed below them, she searched for a sign of a seathi. Still nothing. Then something poked her and startled her so much that she let out a squeak. Turning, Ami came face-to-face with a rainbowy seathi who was all fins with a splash of punk-styled mane. "George," she said, voice going from excited to slightly annoyed.
"Miss Amitola," he drawled, pedaling his hooves and bending his neck in a mock-bow. Oh, this was going to be fun. Somebody'd made the mistake of promising him a party, and George was going to take advantage of that to the fullest extent - first by pulling a visit on Ami, to whom he wasn't even distantly related, despite appearances. He'd ingeniously planned it; while Ilyrana (Ami's daughter, whom he'd come across while she'd tried to raid his shiny supply) distracted her, he'd swim through the lakeweed and sneak up on her from the other side, hopefully provoking a hilarious reaction. It hadn't been as rewarding as he'd hoped, but he grinned at her squeak, nonetheless. He could only barely suppress a chuckle. "I see ya've grown up some since I last saw ya." He knew that she knew that he was messing with her... But it was so fun. "Still don't like me much, do ya?" he asked, but before she could answer, he extended his tail to push himself surface-ward. "There's a party to be joinin' topside, I'm going to go have a look-see."
Once his head broke the surface, George smiled. There were plenty of ponies - or so he called them - about, lollygagging and socializing. Nickering a bit to draw attention to himself, the seathi anchored himself to the beach with both hooves, spreading himself out on a convenient rock. The sun was too nice not to enjoy it, though the prickly sensation of drying out wasn't all that pleasant. "Hey you big people," he called. "Come talk to me."
Below the surface, Ami shook her head. "Still as much trouble as ever, I see." Looking back at Illy, she sighed. "I suppose I should explain. We're not related to him, yay. But I met him a long time ago. He lived here before everyone went out to sea," she said, hoping that would be enough of an explanation. "Now, let's go check out this party. I know you're dying to go." With a big smile, Ami hooked a leg around one of her daughter's and pulled both of them toward the surface. It was difficult, of course - she wasn't used to the extra weight, but it felt good to finally be near her only child again.
When the pair broke the surface, they saw George laying out on a rock. Let the birds get him, Ami thought viciously, before scolding herself. Instead of focusing on him, though (it was what he wanted, after all), Ami surveyed the crowd before her. "So many kinds..." she whispered, looking at the varied colors and features.
"Oh Mom," Illy said, glancing at her mother as they broke the surface and looked at the crowd. "You should come see the beaches by the ocean. There are soooo many different kinds, and mers and kelpi and every color seathi you can dream of. It's beautiful," she finished, looking at a few. These soquili were as varied as sealife - some had flowers in their hair, some had feathers, some looked like natural horses and some had as outlandish colors as she. Some even had wings!

Skyla opened her eyes for a minute, pausing her singing to catch her breath and noticed a mare dancing, "oh! did you like my singing?" she asked, beaming widely, she loved it when her singing made people happy and she raised her head again, her voice lifting high above the babble of talking Soquili, her tempo upbeat and fun despite the fact there weren't many words, just repeated nonsense that sounded good.. and fun!.

White Rabbit was lured to the party because of one thing; a very familiar beautiful voice began to sing. It was like the main tactic to get him to go anywhere. Nosing Skyla in the back he'd notice the dancing mare and smiled in greeting to her.
Eyes looking at Skyla he'd chirp a little. "Well of course! Everyone should enjoy your singing my dear." He'd give a warm face to Skyla, he was usually off in his own little world but. Skyla always got him to pop his dreamy bubbles and come back to the world.

Skyla was 'in the zone' singing but she paused momentarily when she was nosed "RABBIT!" she said gleefully, giving him a light nuzzle, she loved seeing the familiar face, no matter how many times a day she saw it. He made her heart want to sing, so... she did, a charming song that spoke of friendship and love and companionship.
She flicked her tail towards him happily, glad to be near him. She loved that he loved her singing.

It had taken a little longer to get here than they had anticipated, but thanks to the Alphaess' stature her distance was cut short in comparison to her much, much larger daughter trailing slowly at her side. "Looks like this must be the place..." Ikinya commented, looking around to see the gathering of folks of all different walks of life. They had received the runner in their herdlands, and Subira had insisted to go at any rate. It would be a most valuable learning experience to bring back and dwell on; one she couldn't pass up. Ikinya, while knowing she wasn't one for leaving her herdlands for such long distances without her love....felt it would be a good bonding time with her daughter. Besides, it would be rude to not accept such a welcoming invitation from other herds in the land.
So, as the odd pair headed in amongst the others they kept a watchful eye out; they were told of a troll mare - Malis that had been a key role in organizing the whole event and Ikinya was determined to meet her at one point and of course thank her personally for such an invite.

Finally! They had arrived as the mare's face lit up in excitement. She'd never been to such a large gathering before and when she'd met with the runner to their herds she just knew it would be such a valuable learning experience. There was no way she was going to miss it. Happy that her mother had decided to come along with her the pair had made the long trek in record time...of course she could have gotten here sooner but she didn't mind the slow pace to keep her mother at ease.
"It looks like we are..." She breathed, eyeing everyone present to see a vast multitude of different kinds of Soquili around. "I wonder when all of the festivities will begin, but in the meantime shall we find a good spot, or mingle?" She asked the small Usdia beside her, smiling all the while.

Mairéad nodded in response as she tried some intricate hoof-work, using her steps to add a staccato beat to Skyla's song. She loved to improvise her movements to match up with another and the challenge of trying to do so with someone unfamiliar was exhilarating. When the small usida paused to greet another who just showed up she paused too, mostly to catch her breath. "That was delightful! Thank you so much." She looked between the two usida and made a small bow. "I'm Mairéad, it's a pleasure to meet you both." The troll matriarch flicked her ears as a sense came over her. With bright red eyes she searched the throng of arriving soquili and then chuckled lightly. Now this would prove to be interesting... Making her way through the crowd, the larger mare towering over many of the guests, Malis came up to the small herd of visitors just in time to hear the stallion. "That be correct. T' spirits be enjoyin' a bit o' storytellin' an' this be a time where t' spirits be needed so we be apeasin' them wit' a celebration. Ah hope ya be findin' yaself welcome an' if ya have a story t' tell, feel free t' join in when it be startin'!" The troll mare was intrigued by this herd, she could tell it was a family, much like her own, but at the same time, certain symbols stood out to her and she was sure they had a closer connection than was first apparent.

Skyla stopped singing again when the dancing mare addressed her. She was glad of the rest actually, the effort of keeping up the singing made sweat prickle her pelt though she imagined the larger mare was warmer than she "So graceful, i'm not nearly as nimbly footed if i try to dance" she said lightly, chuckling at the memory of the last time she tried to dance, no, she'd stick to singing "You are most welcome, i just love to sing," she was a little shy when complimented but she was getting more used to it the more she socialised.
She mimicked the mare's bow and smiled "I'm Skyla, this is my mate White Rabbit, an honor to be here at this lovely party" she enthused. Pleased she'd come across this gathering.

White Rabbit grinned. He loved to be called Rabbit, it was amusing for him. WR was his usual nickname but Skyla made it in attempt to give him her own nickname. It was a good one. He approved.
Watching her sing and Mairéad dance he clopped his little cloven hoof as a way of clapping. "Bravo!" He'd say to the two mares near him. Bowing his head like a gentleman when Skyla introduced his name for him. His tail wiggling cutely when he heard her call him the m-word. "Pleasure to meet you Miss Mairéad. You have some beautiful hoofwork."

As the oldest of the children, and a guard in-training it had befell him to go admist his younger siblings and to watch over them--which was in no way an easy matter. Kisu and Ikuara had been born running, or at least it felt like it. And usually in different directions to confuse you. Yet, somehow they always ended up back together trying to go off on epic adventures much to large for their small size. He'd seen mother Nori getting upset when they had disappeared for hours at a time. But it never mattered how much you made them feel guilty or what, they just couldn't help getting in trouble it seemed. But today, they were strangely on good behaviour--which really gave Nigiri some trepidation. They had to be planning something.... Kisu had promised mother Nori that she would be good, and she was dead set on keeping that promise. It wasn't like she meant to get in trouble all the time, but then again it wasn't as if she took special care not to...She was kind of free spirited, like their daddy Gun said. He always said it most of been an extra gift from the rainbow god Lona that had brought them to him. She'd always just shrugged it off. She could feel her older brother Nigiri's eyes on the back of her neck, and she hated that he seemed to doubt her word, but then...well she couldn't really blame him could she? She was always getting in trouble after all... "Are you excited?" She whispered to Ikuara. "I hear that the trolls have tusks," she wiggled a little in excitement. She was eager to see what these Vitterfolk looked like. Maybe they'd even see some harpies! Tethys had told them stories about both herds, and several others. It seemed like a dream come true to finally meet the legends of her stories. Kurage walked along, stretching his little fins and tossing his hair. He watched as Sashimi moved excitedly. He was glad his brother didn't seem to be drying out too much. But everyone was walking so fast, that it made his legs hurt. He just didn't want to admit it. He didn't want the girls to think he wasn't as strong as them. He frowned, "Sashimi, what do you think it's going to be like? Are the Vitterfolk nice? Are they kind? What do they look like? Will there be harpies?" His voice trilled in fear, knowing that harpies took males back to their homes as captives. Tethys moved along, she could feel the dust coating her creamy skin. Her eyes were starting to fail, and soon she would be making it known that she was leaving to find her way in the world. It was too painful to be around Uroko, it was too much to do. She needed to live her life before she went blind. She smiled gently at Kurage's fears, his image slightly blurry in her eyes. "No, Kurage. They are peaceful, and this whole thing is being done in peace--a celebration of it. There will be no one there to hurt you, I'll make sure of it and your parents and your brother and...Uroko." Her voice hesitated a moment. "Remember, others may look different but they feel just the same. Don't hurt feelings, accept what you see and don't be rude. Okay Kurage? Sashimi?" Little good it would do to tell the girls that, they'd just blurt whatever right out of their mouths.

Guedes gave a slight smile and held her head high as Malis approached. Being so close to the other matriarch, she could sense something about her. Something she felt she trusted and liked.
"Ah be thankin' ya for your runner to the swamplands. Ah've been seeking ta be makin' a journey ta these lands for many moons now."Atal'ai quickly raised his head and looked very alert and alarmed as the troll mare approached their small group. Despite the spiritual similarities between their herds, he himself felt off. Shaking his head, the stallion quickly back peddled away from his family and Malis, lowering his head back to the ground. "Nonono, cannot harm her! Will not harm me..." He mumbled, unable to stop himself from stealing glances at the powerful mare. The older mare snorted with disappointment at her son, returning her attention to Malis. "Forgive him, he 'as been...addled...by the spirits. He poses no threat ta you or this gatherin'." Guedes started, bowing her head in respect, "And any tales we have ta lend, we will." She finished.

L'inglesou moved toward the party slowly. He had left Nessie to her waters, and had come to investigate this party. A part of him longing to see his family, to find them here. It had been a long while since he'd seen them. But he had been busy making a home with Nessie. He had, in part, hated to leave her. But he had the urge to go out for awhile, and he bid her goodbye--planning to return within the fortnight. He hated that she couldn't come with him. He would be her eyes and ears though. Moving through the throng, he saw all types of soquili. Most, of course, were Vitterfolk. Some-- His eyes were drawn across a group and over. He saw the muted colours, the skulls almost calling to him and the musty scent of the swamp wading over to him. But that wasn't possible, they were too far away for him to even smell home on them. He couldn't believe, he had hoped...but here they were. He stood frozen in place, staring. ((This is the FIRST time I've RPed him since being gifted him after Dixie left, so I apologize for any indescripencies in character, I'm still trying to find what she had on him and figure him out myself.))

"Very glad to see you here. Will you be singing for the celebration in place of a story?" While Mairéad loved to listen to stories, she preferred music and was interested in case Skyla was planning on merging the two and going to sing a story. She had heard such a thing a few times before and always liked the end results. Turning towards the white usida, Rabbit, she heard Skyla call him, the green mare smiled once more. "And will you be joining in with the storytelling or have you come to listen?" Both were welcome as it was no use telling a story if there was no one to listen to it! "That be very good t' hear! Ah always be interestin' in hearin' t' stories from fae away. Ya be sayin' ya live in t' swamp? What it be like there?" The troll was always curious to hear about how the other herds of the kawani lands lived. "Ah be knowin' of a tribe who be livin' near t' swamps before but they be not too sociable so ah not be havin' a chance t' ask them." Malis grinned toothily as she spoke, eying the middle of the crowd for a moment when she noticed her granddaughter was out making the round too. This event would be good for her as the young mare was destined to take Malis' place as leader of the Vitterfolk. Turning her full attention back to Guedes she nodded at the comment of her son. "Livin' wit' t' spirits can be hard. Ah have a great-grandson who be born wit' t' blessin' of t' spirits an' yet he not be seein' this realm." The troll had not seen Atal'rin for a while but had not received news of his demise so was sure that he would return.
Kai'kede smiled at the throng of soquili who were starting to mill about. Soon it would be time to start the storytelling but for now it was nice to wander around and meet the guests. She nodded towards a family of kelpi as she passed by them before stopping before a pretty winged mare and giveing a polite bow. "Hello, I am Kai'kede, welcome to the WillowGlen heard lands. I do hope you enjoy your stay here and find everything to your liking. We have refreshments to the side and the storytelling will be starting shortly." This was her first major event since she had gone on her spirit quest and the mare was a little nervous but tried not to show it. She knew her parents were very hopeful she would do well as one of the hosts and was hoping to make them proud. Much like Kai'kede, Mar'liel was destined to be the next leader of the Vitterfolk. Luckily, the two mares go along very well together being close in age and the mare looked forward to the day that they would be co-leading much like Malis, Imogen and Dayunsi did. Shaking out her dreads proudly and making sure her feathers were not ruffled, she made her was through the large groups and greeted all she could see. When she passed Subira however, she could not help but stare for a moment at the intricate markings and jewelry that adorned her face and hair. Intrigued she made her way closer before remembering her manners and executing a low bow with a warm, albeit toothy smile. "Greetin's travelers! It is a pleasure to see you here and welcome. My name is Mar'liel, Daughter of Sen'jin and Ysiel, Granddaughter of Malis, the leader of the Vitterfolk." She looked between the purple mare and the smaller usida and pondered for a moment noting a resemblance to each other but not sure how that could be. Still, the spirits were always interesting in their choices and she placed that curiosity in the back of her mind for later perusal, not wanting to seem rude.
