It looked like Umeko's kindness was what softened this Illyria. It warmed Daenerys' heart to see it. Every day she was reminded by how fortunate she was to be surrounded by such beautiful and gentle spirits when the world was full of such cruelty.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Illyra," she replied. "You are welcome to join us for a night, if you wish for somewhere to rest in peace. We have guards enough to keep any dangers at bay." To Daenerys, it seemed like Illyria might have a lot to learn from her little khalasar.

Umeko was glad that Illyria had not refused her small offering of wildflowers. She glanced briefly towards Daenerys for just a moment before hearing the other mare speak and offer her name. Umeko tested the name out in her mind before nodding to herself. It seemed like the name suited the stranger. "There is no need to apologize Illyria for a natural reaction. I should have not approached as quietly as I had but I am grateful for your appreciation."
The uni glanced towards the direction where the rest of the Khalasar would be before dipping her head towards Illyria. "It was nice meeting you Illyria. Daenerys, if it is no bother to you, I would like to excuse myself to go find my mother."
Umeko paused before excusing herself from the pair. She had heard Daenerys offer Illyria the chance to rest and she wished not to intrude if the pair wished to talk more. As she walked away Umeko remembered the size of the mare's wingspan. Where had she come from and did all of the Soquili from her area possess such giant wings?

The wildflowers still were untouched at her feet. Illyria had been gazing after the departing form of Umeko once more. Worry crossed her expression for a moment before she gave a soft sigh. Daenerys's offer of safety seemed too good to be true. What would happen if her people found her here? For sure they would not hesitate to attack in retribution for merely associating with this group. In her mind it was best to remain alone and on the move but the chance to see new sights awoke a yearning inside Illyria. It was true that if the time came she could possibly persuade Daenerys to keep her group silent if she felt the need to flee. If others didn't talk there would be no way for the searchers to know that she had tarried here.
These thoughts raced through Illyria's mind. Finally she glanced towards Daenerys and sighed. "I appreciate the offer that you extend to me. I wonder though if it is right for me to stay. I fear that I have not been totally honest. I have no wish to offer any ill harm towards your Khalasar but I do bring danger to your group if I am found here by those I am running from."
Illyria paused and lowered her head to sample the blossoms of the wildflowers that Umeko had lain at her feet. Truth was that she was a little nervous that Daenerys would take back her offer.

Dany's brow furrowed. That explained why Illyria had seemed so mistrusting. Apparently she was already in some sort of trouble. Truthfully, her khalasar was still small. They had few warriors and might not be able to drive off an attack if Illyria's pursuers found her. She could be putting the rest of the herd in harm's way if she allowed Illyra to join their ranks. It was a difficult conundrum for the young leader and one that she hadn't faced before.
"You are still welcome in my khalasar for as long as you desire to stay," she said slowly and after a moment's thought. "We will try our best to protect you, and it is up to you to decide if you think our efforts will be enough." Viserys had often accused Dany of having too soft a heart and she could almost hear him now mocking her for this decision. Maybe it was the wrong choice... but it was the only choice she could make. She couldn't turn away another mare in need of help.

Illyria almost visibly sighed in relief. Coming clean to Daenerys had been a big risk and it seemed as if the risk had been worth it. At least she had given Daenerys forewarning. She would continue to keep her own eyes and ears open for rumors herself but it looked like there was a place for her in this small band of Soquili. The choice to land and graze had been a fruitful one it appeared. Illyria made a soft sound before gently extending her wings to their full extent. It was possibly unnecessary to do so but Illyria wanted Daenerys to know what to look for. On one wing was the mark of her lineage, the royal mark it seemed.
"I will stay for as long as it is safe to do so. I thank you in advance for your hospitality Daenerys Targaryen. I vow that I will leave the second I hear talk that might signify that those that pursue me are near. I want no ill will to befall your Khalasar. If you look closely you will see what sets me apparently. There is a mark on my wing that signifies my lineage. It is this that those that pursue me will look for; sort of like a confirmation. As if there would be two mares that look alike with giant wingspans."

"I will let my guards know what to look for," said Dany, admiring Illyria's beautiful wings. If Dany had an army, she would have told Illyria that she could stay even if a pack of skinwalkers were on her tail. Since she didn't have an army and only had a few loyal guards, she could only nod.
"And I officially bid you welcome." She smiled at her new follower, and then back at Umeko. "I think it's time we went back to the others. I have to make some introductions." At some point she would try to get more information from Illyria, but that could wait. For now she would be content in introducing Illyria to her new companions, and possibly to a new way of life.
