But oh, she would contend him on that, "You... are not a cat!..." Proclaiming it once more as if the fact of being a cat explained everything... using the metal bit to twirl her fiery hair.... "I shower when I have to, oh... but to have the cat's tongue... it would make it so much less... wet..." giving a shudder as merely the thought of it put her ill at ease. She was eying his boxes, but the little metal bit she'd found before seemed to be the only thing that had interested her before, as it was now, well, save for the coin which made her eyes light up like a child about to receive a present... "Well, that's perfectly fine!" she'd hold out the piece for him, and her palm open and waiting for the copper piece, "not no tricks you, I'd hate to be irritated by you because you do seem like a nice fellow." she'd give just this one warning. Waiting for her prize.

"That is true, I am not a cat. Which is probably why I don't mind water all that much." He raised an eyebrow again when the other Pockettu talked about having a cat's tongue. It was a little odd, but probably not to her since she was part cat. "No tricks, I promise. I try not to back out of deals, especially when I need something out of it." Deoxy smiled and took the piece from her hand and placed the copper coin in her open palm. "There you go. See? No tricks. I am a pretty nice fellow. Or, at least, I try to be one." He moved and attached the piece to his project. He can now move onto the next level of it. "Thank you for giving the piece back. It would have been annoying to try and make another one just like it."

She was ready to growl if he snatched it and didn't give her the coin, but there is was, all shiny in her palm... "Oooo..." she'd turn it over in her fingers a couple times, as if forgeting he was there. An odd light within her green eyes as she stared at it with a wide grin on her lips.... then she popped it in her mouth and sucked on it as if it were a candy. "Mmmm..." she'd wiggle a bit... clasping her hands together as if savoring the flavor....It was nearly as if she'd forgotten about him...

After a few moments of her sucking on the coin with her hands clasped in front of her, she'd lift on to her toes and start to rock...tilting her head this way and that as her ears flicked towards him, the only sign that she knew he still existed. Her eyes finally popped open and she'd give a huge grin, "I'm good for my word, you can count on that!" giving a giggle she'd skip over to him, in a much better mood now it seemed... she'd edge it close to him, trying to see what he was doing... "What are you making anyway......?" She'd snap her eyes to him and bust out laughing... "I don't even know your name!" Thrusting out a clawed hand for a shake, "my name is Avalon... nice to meetcha!"

Deoxy grinned at her reaction. She was so happy with it, it was almost worth having his piece taken from him. He wasn't expecting her to suck on it, but it made a little sense, since she mentioned the taste of copper. It was endearing. "I'm glad you're good for your word. Makes it easier to interact if I don't have to wonder if you are lying to me or not."

He looked over at her. "I'm Deoxy. It's nice to meet you as well, Avalon. And I'm making a replica of what the structure of human DNA looks like on a bigger scale. I wanted to know how it works, since we live with them. And it's actually pretty interesting." He explained. "I'm fascinated by this kind of stuff." Deoxy smiled sheepishly.

"As I am, that you are good for yours" she smiled at him... beginning to like him a bit more. Not just something to idly pass the time with, perhaps someone she wouldn't mind seeing again some time. Though when he'd try to explain to her what it was he was doing, she'd get very confused...

"Human's have... bits of metal and.... what is that... stuff?" she'd look into the box, pointing to the various pieces of something that looked like no human she'd ever seen before, she was a creature of whimsy and magic, science didn't really come to her easily... "that...is really weird, these DNA's... how much bigger are you making it? Is it like... a pea or a pebble?" she looked at all the various parts.. so complex and... it sorta looked weird... like it might hurt or something.

Deoxy chuckled softly. "No, they don't have metal bits and foam balls in them. It is a model of it. I'm using the various pieces to represent the squishy stuff humans are made of." He looked over his project. "Not too much bigger than what it is. Human DNA is really, really super tiny. One needs special machines and equipment to view it. I'm basing this off of pictures I've seen in books. I wanted to be able to study it better and thought making a model would help understand it better. It helps with the visual at least. It's not really like a pea or a pebble. It's much smaller." He explained to Avalon. He was glad that she was interested in what he was doing. Not many others are. It's a very nice change.

Her face screwed up, wrinkling her nose as she'd seat herself cross-legged on the ground, seeming intent on watching what he was going to build.... "That's...." she'd try to think of something nice to say, but to be honest, "sort of weird... so they... aren't just these giant things that like... are.... They're actually made up of things that are even smaller than we are? But like a whole bunch of them to make the... like... huge?" She was confused, the the colors were pretty at least... not as pretty as the fish, but it was interesting to watch him work... "You sure you're gonna need all those metal bits?..." eying one of them hungrily.

He shrugged. "I guess it is kind of weird, when you really look at it." He laughed softly. "Nope, there's more to them then just being giants who carry us around. They really are made up of a bunch smaller things. There are a lot of little things that go into making a human, although, there are patterns to how they are made up." Deoxy looked over at the rest of his stuff. "I don't really know to be honest. I might use all of them. If not, I might consider letting you have few pieces that don't get used, if you would like, that is."

Her ears laid flat as she scrunched her brows together, "Patterns?..." noting the different colors and the metal bits he was using... "Sort of like, a quilt, but... not cloth... or a puzzle... but not board... and..." cocking her head to the side, "not... flat... that is sort of queer looking..." as her head was tilted like that, the rest of her body followed until she was laying on her side, still watching him, but her knees tucked up to her chest and her hands, went under her cheek, her green eyes attentive as her tail curled around her, and gently rose and fell every once and a while as he worked.

Deoxy thought for a moment. "Yes, like quilts and stuff. I never thought of it that way before. And it is a rather odd shape, isn't it? But that is how it looks, according to the books and research." He looked over at her. "Are you tired or just relaxing?" He asked, noticing her position on the grass. "Putting it together is kind of like a puzzle though. And you didn't answer whether or not you would like any of the leftover pieces if there are any."

She was watching him carefully through slitted eyes... a smile curling on her lips... "Heeeeeeeey...." she'd drawl out, a little giggle coming from her as she'd find something to compare in to, "it's like a spiral ladder instead of a staircase!..." Eyes blinking slowly then shifting to look at him directly when he'd ask her about being tired. "Nope, just relaxing..." after a moment of consideration she'd add, "though if I do fall asleep it should only be fore a few minutes tops, I nap on and off through the day..." giving him a grin, "it's safe sorta right now, you know. My better hearing is all I really need to rely on... and you're looking around between pieces so you're keeping an eye out... There's things about to be wary of, but it's good to have good company." When he'd remind her that she hadn't answered his question about the metal bits left over she'd exclaim, "Well of course I do!..." Her tail flopped a little harder than previously, sort of like an annoyed cat... "You distracted me okay?...It's the colors... the metal...the way the sun glints off the pieces..." Her hand snapping out to snatch at a light that danced over the ground that had been reflected off one of the metal parts. Not too hard to believe that his hands working with the colors and the metal, moving around, had her eyes darting and her tail flicking occasionally.

Deoxy nodded. "Yep, it is! I think the shape is actually called a double helix? If I remember correctly, that is what all the books said. I guess because it has two sides and twists?" He looked at the structure he had so far. It looked like it could be called a double helix, at least to him. He shrugged and looked back over to Avalon. "Do you just fall asleep in random places or do you actually have to be relaxing to randomly fall asleep for a few minutes?" He was curious. It's not everyday you meet someone who can fall asleep anywhere and for a few minutes at a time. "I'm glad you think having me around makes it somewhat safe. And I agree, good company is always welcomed." Deoxy noticed the way she reacted to the light that was reflected off the metal piecs and smirked. "Then you will get the leftovers. And I didn't mean to distract you from the question." He moved a piece of metal he had in his hand to reflect the light in a different direction, but still in front of Avalon to see what she would do.

She'd give it some consideration before replying, "Well I guess double helix sounds a bit more fancy then a spiral ladder or a twisted ladder..." though to her it really did look like he was building a complex ladder that in all honesty, wouldn't support much weight at all... "It depends really, sometimes I just find a nice warm spot in the sun, sometimes in a tree and take a bit of a nap... though there are times, I swear this is so weird, I'm in the middle of something and bam! Next thing I know I'm waking up with my face in the dirt or half hanging off of things. Though it never happens during interesting things or when I'm not safe naturally.." yes, naturally if she passed out in the middle of being hunted she'd be in the belly of some beast by now, "Well, it's not a fortress but when you spend most of your days hunting alone, it's a nice, very nice change." smiling at him with a flick of her tail against his exposed arm, "and why are you smirking?..." she'd perk a brow at him, thinking that he was teasing her when something else grabbed her attention, there she was, almost frighteningly fast, pouncing on the stray glimmer of light, watching it play over her fingers, she'd try to pounce it again, ears perked playfully as her tail swished from side to side. He'd gone and distracted her again.

Deoxy nodded, smiling. "Yeah, it does sound fancier than a spiral ladder or a twisted ladder and more technical. That's probably why they chose the name they did." He listened to Avalon describing her napping habits. "Interesting. It's a good thing you don't fall asleep when you don't feel safe. That would be bad if you did spontaneously fall asleep when you were in danger. I guess it is weird that you will fall asleep without meaning to. I don't know of anyone else who has that condition." He couldn't stop himself from laughing when she attempted to pounce on the light. "That's why I was smirking." Deoxy reflected the light in a different direction again. This was very amusing to watch.

She was busy trying to get the light so she let the subject of the double helix drop, it was too complex of a theory for her to focus on right now with that light dancing around and him laughing. Oh, she knew he was doing it, but she didn't let on just yet. "Well, you probably..." pouncing left... giving a bit and rolling over, only to be back up and charging to where he had directed it this time... lunging for it. "haven't met anyone....." patting the ground spastically as she hunted the shard of light... twisting around in a full circle chasing it... and then she'd face towards the source, which was him... and leap, pouncing to get him... "Like me!"
