Millie nodded, grinning. “Of course! I’ll come out with you whenever you want! It’ll be fun. I’ll keep you safe...and I know Julienne will make sure that the both of us stay safe! She’s a wonderful guide!” The girl hugged Orin again, then took his hand. “Come on, why don’t we go home? I think we’ve been out for long enough, and if you’re still worried about your dad you shouldn’t push your luck too bad!”
The girl laughed once more, squeezing Orin’s hand. “So…so why don’t we go! This is all going to be one awesome adventure and I have so many people to introduce you too! Oh this is going to be amazing, you have to come over soon okay? Maybe we can convince our parents to let us have a sleep over! I want to just tell you everything! And I’m going to one day, I promise but there’s just a lot to tell!”

Orin nodded, "Okay, that sounds good!" He was happy and elated—and not even grossed out by the fact that a girl was holding his hand. "My dad would probably let you sleep over! Unless your mom would be weirded out because there aren't any girls at my house, but my dad would probably be fine if I slept over! And we can stay up all night and talk about all of this! Oh, and watch some movies. It's not a sleep over without movies."
He didn't realize what he was doing when he gave her hand another squeeze, but he pulled away shortly after so he could wave. "Be safe getting home, Millie! I'll call you tomorrow and we can figure something out. Night!" he said before turning and trotting off.
Her mentioning pushing him luck had him worried that his father was already calling the cops, and he didn't want to risk it.
Thankfully, when he got home nothing seemed amiss. Just in case, he checked on his father—who was totally passed out in a heap of pillows and blankets—before he tucked himself in.
