He faintly heard the whisper of Pastela's voice and his head snapped in her direction. "I mea-..." Porter cut himself off when he saw the look on her face... on top of the way she had suggested it ever-so-softly. The male was silent and felt the heat and blush come to his cheeks. This was interesting, he scratched the back of his neck, deciding very carefully on what he might say next. Uncertainty bubbled within his chest Even then, when he finally spoke, his voice was still low, "We could..." he mused. "We could." he said again this time more firmly. "Oh my gosh, what am I saying?" Porter dropped his head into his hands, running his fingers through his hair in thoughtful conflict.

Their eyes locked and Pastela could feel her heart hammering in her chest. Time literally seemed to stop as she waited for him to say something, anything. Hope filled her eyes as he began seriously considering it, then the light faded as he seemed to suddenly turn the other direction.
"Porter, it's ok, it was just an idea. There's no need to worry, we can find some other children to come to play." She game him a kind smile, not wishing to push him further despite the desire in her heart.

"I'm sorry Pastela... I didn't meant to be all like that." Porter said, although he was still rubbing his temples. "It's just a big thing." It was one thing to be a brother to Lannister, but to be a father to a child? There was no way he would make a good father. Porter slowly lifted his head, it still left the question of where on the isle they might find a child, it wasn't something he was going to have the answer to tonight though. Porter leaned back against the seat and grabbed Pastela's hand.

"Please, Porter, you have no need to apologize; we can find something else as a solution." She couldn't tell him that she'd wanted a child of her own, not now and perhaps not ever. It wasn't something she could bring up in a conversation.
As he took her hand, she looked up at him and smiled warmly. "We will find another solution." She repeated, not wishing to let him continue to think on a line that he didn't want to.

Porter nodded his head, "Ok, ok, yeah." He agreed. With a long sigh from holding his breath, Porter stood up. "Hey Lannister, are you ready for bed?" he asked his brother noticing that the sun was already down.
Lannister shined him his big eyes and shook his head defiantly.
"Aw, come on. You know you are..." he smiled as he walked over to Lannister and picked him up in his arms. "I'm just going to tuck him in and then I'll be back." He informed Pastela as he rocked Lannister from side to side. "You're getting very sleepy..." he cooed at the child.

"But Lannister, the sooner you go to bed, the sooner a bright new day can come with all sorts of new adventures." Pastela got up as Porter rocked the child, and bent to kiss his forehead. "Now you sleep well so you have enough energy for tomorrow. Good night."
She gave Porter a nod and went back to where they were seated. As soon as the two were gone, Lykaon walked over and sat in front of Pastela giving her 'the look'.
"I know... I know I should tell him, but I don't want to pressure him." She said softly to the wolf, reaching out and brushing his soft fur. "I'm afraid of pushing him away.
"You know he'll feel just as bad, if not worse, if he finds out without you telling him." Lykaon reminded her softly, pushing his muzzle into her hand. "You need to communicate with him."
"I know... just now isnt the time. Telling him how much I want them will only drive him away...."

Lannister smiled and nodded his head at Pastela, he blew her a kiss before Porter took him off to their room.
Porter could barely hear the female as he started to walk away, and he was interested in what she might be saying to her wolf. Was she telling him how attractive he was, or was he a great kisser." Porter paused and held up a finger to his mouth telling Lannister to be quiet.
Lannister knew that sign only too well and followed along, knowing it was time for more good-hearted mischief.
Porter paused to listen to the last part of the conversation, or at least Pastela's end of it. She was talking about... he could only guess from how vague she was speaking. "Hm..." Porter said after the talking had stopped. Porter laid Lannister down in his bed and gave him a gentle kiss on the forehead. "Goodnight little brother," he whispered as he mussed the boy's hair.

Pastela had no idea that she had a pair of eves droppers right around the corner, and if she had she probably wouldn't have said the things she had. With a sigh, she leaned over and hugged Lykaon tightly.
"It's wonderful being around him, though. It's warm and comforting, and I'm the happiest. You know it's been so long since I've felt as purely happy as I am now with him. If I drive him away, I don't know how I'd recover again."
Pulling away and sitting back, she sighed and ran a hand through her hair, looking up at the roof. She'd just have to wait and see what would happen.

Porter stood in the doorway of the room he and Lannister shared for a while as he thought deeply about the topic at hand. He watched the fae boy slowly drift off into the land of slumber, chuckling softly at how funny it was that the child hadn't thought he was tired and then had fallen asleep so quickly. As he watched the boy sleep, he thought about how it might be different if Lannister was his own child, if he and Pastela had a child. Porter sighed, thinking of how different it would be to be a real father.
Finally, Porter took a deep breath and came around the corner. "Why not?" he said as he entered the room. "Why not have a child of our own?" He asked Pastela, going back over to where she sat.

When Porter came back, Pastela looked up and smiled in greeting to his return. His words caused her expression to freeze as her mind struggled to make sense of his sudden question. Did he just say what she thought she heard?
"Are you sure?" She looked at him with wide eyes, trying so hard to hide the hopefulness from her eyes and voice. "Would you be ready?" She knew he was ready just by seeing him with Lannister... but if HE didn't feel ready then it wouldn't matter. "Because I don't wish for you to do something you don't feel ready for." Her brow knit together as she waited for his answer.

Porter nodded his head with enthusiasm, "Yeah, I mean. I'm raising a kid already. I want one that is ours though." Porter reasoned. He wouldn't say it out loud, but he was also thinking it might be one of the only ways he could ever give back to her for all that she had done for him if this was something she wanted. "I'm ready and I think that we are ready, if you want this too." So the two might never know what a relationship without a kid in the house was, but he wasn't thinking about that at the moment.

Pastela couldn't keep the pure joy from lighting up her face as Porter talked about having one that was theirs. Standing up, she embraced him tightly as she tried to keep herself from literally bouncing around the house. "Porter, are you sure" she asked him still, knowing that this decision was a very big one.

Porter nodded his head slowly, but with a big smile. "I am sure Pastela. Do you want this, are you okay with this?" he was pretty sure that her answer was yes, but he wanted to make sure he hadn't misunderstood her either. He hugged her tightly, excitement building in his chest now that he had committed to doing it. Porter would do his best to make this a reality for her, no matter how long it took. With any luck, it would be soon so that Lannister might have a companion, but Porter knew that it wasn't the only reason.

Pastela nodded her head furiously. "Yes, yes I am sure." She looked up at him with adoration, love, and hope. This would be good: good for both of them as well as for Lannister. A new chapter was opening up in the new book that was her- their- lives. "You know.... You could also move into my room. If you'd like to, I mean."

Porter's heart fluttered, happy that he had seem to hit it right on the money, figuring out what she wanted. He put his hand up to her face, stroking her cheek gently. "Yeah, I'd love to..." he answered her in a soft whisper. Porter gave Pastela a mischievous smile, the same one that Lannister had when he was up to no good, they were clearly brothers. "Are you ready to go to bed now?" he asked her.
[Maybe a reply to this and we'll be good?]
