General Painite was not easily played by the emotions, and though the spritz to the face did distract her, she kept he eyes closed and growled her way through it. More than anything else, it infuriated her. She was no ones puppet and would not have her feelings used against her, though she had no control over it.
Goddamn White Moon magic. She really hated it. Very seriously hated it.
As much as she hated the White Moon itself, maybe.
When she opened her eyes and the magic had faded, she saw that the knight had made a getaway. She should have known that would happen, and maybe she really did know, but she had walked into it anyway. There was no way she was losing her edge, was she? Starting to feel bad for her enemies?
No way. If she saw that knight against she would make sure to rip her starseed out and jam it down her throat so fast she had time to choke on it before she died.

The moment Aventine could, she ran. She ran so fast that her chest burned. She had weaved through the area and powered down almost as soon as she could have. It might have made her physically weaker, but at least she wasn't a beacon for the general.
Of whom she stood absolutely no chance against.
That much was painfully clear, she realized, chest heaving as she leaned against a building. She could hear chatter nearby and could see cars passing, so if Painite decided to rear her head she knew she could make it to civilization. For now, she was just going to try and catch her breath and hope that she wasn't caught.
Even as she tried to calm her throbbing heart and easy the burning in her lungs, she leaned over and pulled up her skirt just a bit to see the damage to her leg. It wasn't bad, or at least she told herself. It wasn't gushing blood, but her skirt was going to be ruined at this rate.
So she was just going to have to get home and get it in the wash.
The bloodstain wouldn't linger, but Painite's face in her memory would.
