Pale eyes followed the shrieking arrow until it had flown out of ear shot, then rolled back to Heidi, brows arched curiously. "What was that?" It kind of reminded her of Ro's Charge, what with the sound, but obviously she was still standing, so it wasn't quite the same. As far as her being alright? "Yeah, I'm good, just recoil from my own damn charge." She might have sounded a little bitter. Warrick was being strangely quiet, he knew she was miffed at him. The flesh along the bridge of her nose gave a pinch as she thought about Tuck and him being a nice guy that was easy to talk to. Normally she would agree, but then normally she she wasn't on his s**t list over something she hadn't even done to him. Of course she hadn't tried talking to him in some time, and for all she knew he'd cooled off over the incident with after the cruise ship. Couldn't hurt to ask, right? She made a mental note to try to hunt him down in the next week or so. Their shields were still very much intact though, so now wasn't the time to be thinking about it. She brought her hands back up, that same eager smile sliding along pale lips as she made a dash at the other girl again. She went for another slash, this time aimed at Heidi's arm. HP: 21 DMG: 7 CHG: 1/3 | 1/2

"Thaaaat was Matilda's charge. I always seem to miss with it, I dunno why." Heidi shrugged and sighed. She had accepted her fate.
Peyton came at her and Heidi took the chance of her leaving herself open to fire an arrow straight at her. The hit to her arm made her wince and back off again.

The arrow hit her square in the chest, slowing her down. She nodded, lips pursed thoughtfully, then offered Heidi a grin. "At least your's doesn't hurt you, hit or miss." There was an angry jab thrust towards Warrick, and he responded by staying quiet. When her charge hit it could be brutal, but regardless she always seemed to get hurt. At least this time she hadn't broken her own shield and done any serious damage, not like when she'd hit Tuck and busted her hand. She shrugged and darted in again. They weren't so much having a spar as having a conversation, but that didn't mean they weren't exchanging blows. She landed her hit, but it was glancing. HP: 15 DMG: 1 CHG: 2/3 | 1/2

Heidi ducked after she was hit and backed off in a different direction. It was an interesting little game they were playing, kind of like keep away. Peyton would come in close, Heidi would back off, Peyton could come in again and Heidi would flee. She saw nothing wrong or strange about having a conversation during their spar, it would be boring if no words were exchanged! Games could be fun. Peyton darted in again and made another strike at Heidi's side. The spikes missed, but the short curved blade bit into her shield. Tag, you'e it. "Yeah, so far? I mean, it's not always crazy powerful, but it seems to always have some sort of recoil." She shrugged. As much as she complained she obviously didn't mind the backlash enough not to use it. That sucked. Heidi couldn't imagine letting herself use her charge very often if it had a painful recoil like that. "Weird. That sucks, though. Maybe more practice will help with that." She shoved Peyton away from her with the bladed edge of Matilda.

"Yeah, maybe." Or it would only get stronger as she progressed in the ranks herself.. Warrick didn't provide much of an answer beyond noncommittal grunt.
Blades nicked at her again, and she gave a soft hiss, swinging not at the bow, but the arm holding it.

"Whoops." As much as they were aiming at each other, Peyton hadn't been trying to smack Heidi in the face with her own weapon.

"Don't worry, it's fine. When I sparred Roland I smacked myself in the face with Matilda and got this big bruise on my cheek, I don't think I'll get that this time." She shrugged. As much as Peyton was enjoying their conversation, and as much as she was enjoying Heidi's company, the dainty Sun was getting just a little bit frustrated by the lack of serious blows being exchanged. Yes, they were having fun, but what they were doing wasn't so much training, as it was simply fooling around. So she gave the other girl a quick smile, fierce and determined, before streaking forward to aim a solid slash to the other girl's side. < That's more like it!> HP:12 DMG: 5 CHG: noop

Peyton may not have seen this as training but Heidi did. To her a spar was simply about exchanging blows and figuring out a personal rhythm and figuring out how your own weapon or fighting style worked, it wasn't about how hard you could hit the other person. It was for that reason she got very excited when she was able to knock off Peyton's hit entirely and instead use that motion to get a nice hit in herself.
