Regular-sized goggles, the type Nai was dealing with before at the CAZ, were too small for her to bother with. To fit everything she wanted into them, she would need to handle parts far too delicate for her to care enough about, particularly when another, just as good option was available. What she currently worked on building the frame of now was still goggles, but they were very large, almost enough to be considered half masks. All they were lacking to be considered such was a portion to cover the nose. The design was simple and streamlined, the monitor spanned across the eyes and far enough to the sides that, with the curve calculated, it didn't do a thing to block the wearer's peripheral vision. The same could be said of the top and bottom of the monitor. There wasn't much of a frame either, and the color was the ever-useful black. Of course, at this very beginning process, the final shape of the goggles had yet to pop out. It was very much still in pieces, Nai having only inserted a computerized version of the Zoom Scope. She planned to first insert all the little widgets before finishing up the goggles. No reason to take it apart and put it back together repeatedly.
It was as she picked up the components of the Night Vision scanner that Qaar began talking. As he rambled away, Nai fiddled with the small components to get a feel of how they would go together in her new HUD display. She briefly tested the parts to make sure they all fit then carefully inserted them into their proper place in the goggles one by one. As Qaar finished, Nai was putting the finishing touches to the Night Vision scanner. She wasn't, admittedly, too sure one what everything did, but she understood enough that one of those things changed the wave frequency received by the goggles, the other carried power to the device, and etc. Whatever, it didn't matter to her as long as it worked. Still without responding to the Feral, the girl finished the newest addition and set to testing it out immediately. The dim light in the crypts was enough for her to check that everything was working fine. Loosely holding the HUD up to eye level, Nai flicked on the Night Vision and setting and watched the wall in front of her turn brighter. Good enough for her. [1/1]
Satisfied with the night vision on her HUD, Nai quietly fingered a few other pieces, musing quietly to herself if adding a Projector to the HUD was really worth the effort. She still was quite sure when she set down the parts for the Projector and picked up the parts for two ammunition holds. This, she definitely knew she wanted to use.
The first step for Nai's take on the ammunition hold add-on was to strip the reloading mechanism for her tonfa guns off her torso and set them in front of her. This was where she determined she'd need an ammunition hold the most. However, attaching a separate hold to each reloading mechanism was a bit overkill. Instead, Nai split the contents of one ammution hold between the two. It resulted in two half-size holds that counted as one. That left Nai with just enough room on her body for one more ammunition hold. However, she opted against the idea after seeing how much space the reloading mechanism of the tonfa guns now took after the up-grade. She didn't want anymore to slow her down. Maybe after getting rid of her rifle or shotgun she'd reconsider. [1/1]
By this point, it should have been obvious that Nai had no desire to unnecessarily answer Qaar's questions. Just as she had no reason to know his name, he had no reason to know hers. Especially since he was giving nothing in exchange. Plus, just what would he do with the knowledge of why she gave him the books? The answer to a question like that required too much though to shorten into its shortest form to be worth answering.
