Painite liked the pain she caused, watching the little knight as he scrambled away. Let him run all she wanted, and she would keep on chasing him. She had no reason to give up and go home, wanting nothing else but to kill him tonight. He was the top of her priority list!
She should tell him that, let him feel a bit of pride in the steady rise in her esteem. As far as how much she wanted to kill him went, anyway.
Something told her he wouldn't take much comfort in that.
Some people.
"Where are you running to, sweetheart? You're running out of places to go! Are you going to just keep running away, stretch out this whole thing? I could end it quickly for you, you know, but I'm enjoying this either way. You White Moon never know when to just accept your own fate, until you're staring at the starseed I've ripped out of your chest. Then you die, of course, but hey. I love that look that comes to your eyes when you realize you're dead."
She laughed, watching him swing and bracing herself, letting him kick her if he wanted to. He was nothing to her, and she had no reason to think he was going to be able to harm her. Plus, it put him in stabbing range, which she was always a fan of.

Shang tried to ignore her taunting, he certainly wasn't running out of places to go, not that he was getting anywhere. He was, however, getting tired and that meant he could possibly run out of energy. Even as he felt him feet connect with her shoulders and scrambled onto the beam pulling himself up with a huff, he was started to feel slightly more panicked as his energy lessened.
He was running to much, but he needed to get away from her. He didn't want to die, he hadn't even finished his residency at the hospital and he was so close. He'd never done a lot of things. His thoughts were disjointed, going from flight to fight to flight and back again, but not so much that he was defenseless. He summoned his weapon and back across the beam quickly still wanting to escape his untimely demise why trying to think of what to do.
The only thing that came to mind was that he really needed help. He needed help and he currently didn't really care where it came from as long as it got him out of this situation. He also needed to remember not to piss off the ladies, especially spear wielding ladies.Lithia_Brandon He'll upgrade next post. Sorry again, ive no idea with knight stuff!

Painite could keep the hunt up forever. yes, teleporting was a drain on her energy but no more than anything else, and she was determined to keep on his tail until he gave up. She liked to see them break, and wondered how he would sound and look when he was begging her not to kill him.
She bet he'd look cute.
"You look like you're getting stressed, little knight. Are you worried? Are you scared? I think it's setting in, isn't it? Just how doomed you are. I'm going to cut you apart, and you're going to see each piece before I let you die. Doesn't that sound like fun? You'll even get to see your own starseed, if you're strong enough to last that long."
She had so many ideas for hunts like this, there was just not enough... well. Senshi and knights, really.
"I think I'm done with all this running around. I think it's time for you and my spear to come a bit more personally acquainted. Say good bye, my friend."

How pathetic, his sister would be severly disappointed in him. He'd never finish school and he never know what the future held for him, if he just let her kill him. He had to fight back. This was it wasn't it, that point were he made his move in this war or died, or even died trying.
He had his weapon at ready, even if his confidence wasn't fully behind him and he wasn't sure he could do this, he was damn well going to try. As the spear came to end him he lashed out with his weapon to find himself experiencing the same sort of light that had brought him into all this. But he felt a little hopeful, because maybe this was the help he needed.
When the light subside his weapon was changed, caught against the spear he held the 'Rod of Asclepius'. He gaped at the irony of it and began to feel a little more connected to himself as a knight, to his wonder. It felt more like Destiny and less like he'd been dragged into all this. He pulled his weapon back and stood ready, "I can't let you win, not today."

Painite took a step back mostly on instinct as he was engulfed in light. She knew what it was, that damned light. It was the White Moon coming to his rescue, the power of Order pulsing stronger in his starseed and washing over him, granting him the strength he needed to stand up to the threat she presented. She had seen it before, but she found the longer she fought, the more she was around, the more she hated the sight of that power.
It almost burned her eyes to see it now, and she hissed under her breath as she took that instinctive step back.
"Oh look at you, how strong you are now that you've got a new toy to play with! Do you think that scares me? I've had my weapon for years, buddy: I know how to play this game. You think a little more power is going to save you? I'll cut that new Squire starseed right out of you chest!"
Something in her tone was unsettled, and not in the typical, blood thirsty kind of way she had about her. No, she was shaken by seeing him power up, as if she had seen what could happen at any time, with any of her targets. If she pushed too hard, they found a way to beat her: they had that terribly annoying habit.
And she had no real way to stop it, to keep them from powering up, except what she was already doing. Trying to kill them, and keep their starseeds for herself.
"Show me what you're made of, knight."

Shang gripped his new weapon tightly, listening to her speak. He honestly didn't think more power would save him, more power wasn't what he needed he didn't think, because she still felt stronger than him. No he need more confidence, more belief and he'd gotten that with this upgrade. A stronger connection to his knighthood, the hammer had been amusing, but the rod, the rod felt like destiny.
He didn't really notice her unsettled tone and he didn't answer her taunts, but when she told him to show her what he was made of, it felt different somehow. He nodded and swung his fist toward her, wanting to catching her attention before he swung his weapon aiming to strike her in the side, feeling something new welling up in him. It was his magic answering his call, channeled through his weapon in attempt to give Shang an advantage.
The whole seen, was odd to Shang, he didn't even fully understand how he knew what to do. It was likely a memory that wasn't really there, but if it helped him out of this situation, he found himself not wanting to dwell on it.

Painite tended to forget that knights had magic, as she was so used to taunting pages that they never had the strength to use any sort of magical skill. She was not thinking that he might, and was not worried about it either way. Right now, anyway, she just had to deal with his punching at her.
Grinning, she moved to let him land his hit, wanting to know just how strong he could be. She didn't defend and she didn't react: she wanted a bit of pain. Maybe it would make the fight more fun, maybe she would be surprised by him.
He would certainly earn his death, anyway.
Painite had been in this fight for a very long time, and it was hard for her to feel challenged these days. Especially now that she had become so jaded and disenchanted in her duties. She had nothing to strive for, and nothing to really believe in. She fought for the fun of it and now the thrill was running thin: she needed more and more.
She was not going to stop, though. She'd keep pushing her limits.
Banishing her weapon for now, she felt his first hit land, and then his weapon connected with her side. Growling in pain, she finally took her first swing at him, at his face.

Lithia_Brandon Magic used this time, if he actually lands a hit lolz <3 He was shocked to say that least that she just sort of let him hit her, but that was her and surely she realized her mistake when he weapon connected with her side. Of course that only made her mad and left Shang nearly knocked off his feet stumbling backwards from a blow to the cheek.
It hurt, more that he wanted to admit and he was sure any further forward and she would have split his lip. Currently it was a miracle to him that he still was in possession of all his teeth. He couldn't dwell, she wasn't going to stop, so he had to shake it off, gripping his weapon tightly with both hands, brining it up and slicing it downward like a sword, aiming for her shoulder.
He still felt the same feeling from before and focused more intently on it, even though still he wasn't entirely sure what exactly it was he was doing, but at least he was fighting, giving himself a chance.

Painite winced in pain, the hit having landed harder than she thought it had. Did he crack a rib? She wasn't sure, and she didn't really care, grinning ear to ear like a mad woman, thriving off the thrill of the hunt. She would take injuries, if it meant a more satisfying kill.
"Your starseed is going to look so nice in my collection."
She was charging him and this time did not actually anticipate his attack. When the weapon connected, this time she felt the impact of not only the hit, but the magic that followed. She hit her knees. Painite, brought down to her knees! Immediately she was furious, but she felt the slowing effect of the magic. Her gut told her to get to her feet immediately, but her body didn't answer that call.
"What the hell are you doing? Are you using magic? Goddamn White Moon and your miserable little tricks!"

Shang watched as she went down, slightly wide eyed and trying to push down the guilt, as he had hurt her very obviously. Her question made him blink slightly and look at his weapon for just a second before nodding. He hadn't totally realized he would be able to use magic with his weapon, he just did what felt right.
Looking at her he frowned, "I'm sorry," he said. Probably something she was sick of hearing from him as he jumped behind her and swung a kick at the middle of her back.
She was down, but that didn't mean much, he needed her to stay down at least just long enough for him to gun it. With that he jumped down a few floors, nearly tripping before turning and looking back at her for a moment and calling out.
"Killing me isnt the answer, me or anyone else," he said not really sure why he said it, but jumping down to the ground. "I'm sorry," he called out again, running like his life depended on it. Of course it did, she was probably really mad now.

Painite grunted and was pushed forward by his kick. He wasn't strong enough to do her serious damage, not without her allowing him to hit her, but his magic had slowed her enough to give him the chance to run away. By the time she was getting to her feet, he had taken off into the night. She could follow him, but she didn't, watching him as he ran away and disappeared from her immediate sight, though she felt his aura.
He didn't think she had to kill anyone, did he? He was sorely mistaken in that, and the next time she saw him, she would prove that to him. There would be plenty of death to be had, and she wondered what he would do in the face of it.
Not his own death. Oh no, he had earned so much more than that now. The wheels were turning in her mind and she growled viciously.
For now, though, she needed to teleport away and tend to her injuries, then get her plan into motion. He was at the top of her list, now, and she would make sure he understood just what that entailed. He was going to suffer and, because of him, other people were going to die.
