Youmu's attack had landed, but seemed to barely affect the Oni's stone-like skin. The gardener made an annoyed expression, her ghost half turning a light red color in frustration.
As the earthen danmaku began to rain down, Youmu took careful steps in retreating towards her grandfather's side, cutting apart this or that shot as it attempted to crush her.
"Grandfather--" She paused, making another swipe with Roukanken, then, with another shot in close proximity, withdrew Hakurouken part-way from its sheath as she spun; the second shot impacted the blade, shattering and causing minor damage to Youmu. She winced, re-sheathing Hakurouken, as she continued; "What action do you propose we take..? The enemy's body is incredibly resilient..." to punctuate her point, she lifted and displayed Roukanken's blade, now featuring a minor chip along its length from her previously failed attempt to strike at the Oni, only to be bound off her skin.

 Youki set his gaze upon the Oni, trying to direct Youmu's attention at her. "Look more closely. Oni may be tough, but they are not immune to our blades."
As he spoke, he sliced a boulder in half, dispersing the danmaku around it. He then jumped up on the boulder and used it as a springboard, following suit for several more until he was in reach of the oni. With his final leap, he performed a front flip, and used the centrifugal force of the flip to add a massive amount of power to a 2 handed downward slash aimed at the shoulder of the same arm Youmu had hit before. (OOC: its mentioned on the wiki page he uses stolen arts, this is a move from the hiten-mitsurugi style, used by the main character of rurouni kenshin)

This old man was quite like what he said he was. Youkai didn't even get to do her second wave of her spell card. When Youki came at her with his attack she crossed her arms in front of her as the attack struck. She managed to stop it from hitting the already hurt area of her arm, but it was too much for an air-born oni to handle. "Crap crap CRAP!!" Youkai was sent flying downwards, crashing into a tree, which broke from her impacting it. There was dust, of course, where she landed. It wouldn't be the same without it.
As the dust cleared the two half-phantoms could see that the oni was definitely beaten, as she was groaning a little bit. Youkai groggily rose to her feet and coughed. "Ouch... Ow ow ow... Fine fine, you two win [Geez, two on one, I tried my best dammit...]" Youkai admitted defeat, dusting off her clothes. "FINE! Here's what I know; I sensed someone with a rather large amount of power that way." Youkai told them, pointing away from the odd parts of the Forest of Magic. Her info wasn't too helpful... "... What? That's what I know! I never said what I knew was actually incredibly helpful in your journey." She shrugged, huffed, and turned around. "I'm out before you try to beat more info out of me. See ya later, ghost-people!" And with that Youkai kicked off and went speeding into the forest.((Sorry if that f8 seemed quick, but she wasn't th8 hard of a 8oss........ And Youki's attack was more than enough on a wide open Oni, so~
I'll start the next stage after you two post your replies to Youkai's info!))

Youmu breathed a sigh of relief as the danmaku storm dispersed. Panting lightly, she straightened her body, and returned Roukanken to its sheath at her back. This Oni seemed to be more trouble than she was worth...
She joined her grandfather's side as the Oni passed on what little knowledge she had. Youmu let out another, louder, annoyed sigh. "This was a waste of time after all..." She began to walk in the direction the Oni had pointed... which was the direction she and Youki had been heading already. "We've wasted too much time. If she hadn't impeded our progress, we could have found the real culprit behind everything by now..!"

Youki cleanly sheathed his sword as he landed after the strike, turning to look at Youmu as she moved back to his side and. "It's better then nothing," was all he said, before moving off in the direction the Oni had indicated.

The Forest of Magic ~ Down by the River Stage 2D: A small river runs through the edge of the forest of magic. The being who stands by it seems like she's looking for something. Now that the gardeners of the Netherworld have a new course, they are that much closer to solving the mystery of the magical power. But what could be causing it? An innocent snow loving woman seems curious about something as well. Could she be curious about the magical energy also?  The Konpaku's would eventually come to a calm river, near the edge of the Forest of Magic; this was in the direction that the oni, Youkai, told them she could sense a rather large amount of magic. As the two madetheir way there, they would be able to see a rather tall woman standing on the shoreline, staring up through the gap that the river made in the forest at the sky.
As they drew closer to her, they drew her attention. She shifted her gaze towards them, not turning her head just yet. As the half-phantoms got even closer she turned herself to face them. "Well, I can't say that I expected to be meeting anyone here." She told the two, looking them over. They were accompanied by two ghosts, which she took a mental note of. She smiled and gave a bow, no sense in being rude. "How do you do? My name is Sasha Eemee; I'm what you might call an expert of natural occurences."

She knew that the two similarly dressed people couldn't be hear just for a chat; she could sense the magical energy building up somewhere too. But first things first. "Might I have your name, sir and lady? And, if I may, might I ask what the two of you are doing here?" Sasha asked them. "I come here quite often and I have never seen either of you before." Sasha explained to the two. "I would very much like an answer, but if you can't answer then you can't." The woman said with a warm smile.((Totally didn't just copy, paste, and edit anything ;>w> ))

The two continued silently on their journey, until they happened upon another strange figure. This was likely coincidence too, finding this woman here. Or perhaps it was yet another entity drawn by the strange swelling of magic. Such a thing was easy to sense, especially for many kinds of Youkai. Regardless, a small interrogation was warranted, on the off chance that this woman might know something.
"I could say the same, Miss." Youmu responded as they made their approach. "My name is Youmu Konpaku," she paused, bowing, "And this is my grandfather. We've come to investigate the disturbances that has revealed itself lately. May I assume you are doing the same?" Youmu asked politely, resting a hand on Hakurouken's sheath. Now closer to the woman, she could see that she very easily stood at least a full head taller than Youmu. Despite this, she decided to not be intimidated!

Youki stopped shortly behind Youmu, and waited for her to finish asking her questions, studying the girl as he waited. "My name is Youki Konpaku," he stated, bowing as well, "and as my granddaughter said, we are looking for the source of the magical disturbance. If you do indeed come here often, then you must know something about it." He stared her in the eyes with an intense, studying gaze as he spoke, as if he was searching for any sign that she might be trying to hide something when she responded.

The two were in fact related, their family name being Konpaku. These two shared the same sharp wit, asking her right away of what sort of a connection she had to this current event, though in different forms. A smile came over her face and she held her hands together. "These two seem interesting." Sasha thought to herself. "Sadly, I do not know very much of this current event, but it kind of seems natural, in one way or another." Sasha joked. "I came here to see what sort of effects this magical energy had on the forest. But it would seem that I didn't need to worry, as the forest is surprisingly calm; except," Sasha put her hand to her chin and crossed her arm across her torso. "I did see some peculiar beings earlier, acting rather strange. But, no matter." Sasha then held her hands out at her side, letting her power begin to flow. "I can help point you in the right path, but I demand a battle first, to see if you are worthy of dealing with such an incident as this." Sasha told the Konpakus.
Coldness began to radiate from Sasha, frost and even snowflakes descending from around her. Not waiting for an answer, she floated backwards, creating some distance between her and the two sword users. She then pointed her hand forward and from behind her fired six icicles, aimed in the general area of Youmu and Youki.

"Why must they always resort to violence?" Youmu commented, drawing Roukanken from its sheath. "Miss Eemee, please do not waste time with unwarranted combat--" She paused, swiping at an icicle that would have pierced her otherwise. "--Cease this recklessness at once! Please! Oh, if only Miss Yuyuko were here, she's a much better diplomat than I..."
Youmu braced herself for the next volley, taking on a defensive stance. "Grandfather, should we retaliate?"

Youki said nothing, answering Youmu's question instead with a charge forward, moving too fast for human eyes to track as he hit the icicles with his sheath to clear them, and then drew the blade making a powerful slash at Sasha as he moved by, stopping at a distance behind her matching Youmu's distance away in front as he turned around, blade already resheathed.
(think of this as his version of 200 yojana in 1 slash)
