She followed his guidance, trying to listen to the sounds around her to see if they would give her a clue to where they were going. However either her hearing wasn't as great as she thought or there was nothing to give her a clue because she didn't hear anything out of the ordinary.

Soon they stopped and as she waited she felt his hands on her shoulders and up her face. Zuri smiled and wiggled slightly as he touched her neck. "That tickles love." she said with a smile. When he asked if she was ready she nodded. He was clearly very excited, and that made her extremely excited as well!

"Does it?" he teased, kissing her head lightly. He almost didn't want to take the blindfold off, and let this moment- this moment just before the fateful reveal- last forever.
But he also was looking forward to showing her the house. He undid the blindfold and took it away, revealing the new wooden hut, it's foundation an old Jahuar tree.
"Well?" he whispered, his hands, one still holding the blindfold, cupped around her shoulders. "How is it?"

She laughed and nodded her head. "Yes it does." she told him. She wanted him to do it again, but at the same time she just really wanted this blindfold off so she could see what he was trying to show her.

However with the blindfold off she couldn't believe her eyes. She had never seen this hut before! It looked new also, not even lived in yet. Her jaw was on the floor practically and she looked from the hut to Biroki and back. "Is that... Is that for us?" she whispered, barely able to speak.

"Yes" he said, pleased at her reaction, "I built it." he said, getting a little carried away with his own pride, "For us." he hugged her close to his chest, "Do you like it, Zuri?" he asked softly, kissing the nape of her neck, "Do you want to go inside?"
Perhaps he was riding a little high from his pride, and perhaps he was being a little presumptuous, but a new idea was forming in his head, one that he had thought to save for later.
But...

HE BUILT IT! If the hut had been looking beautiful before to her it was a million times more now. She could not believe that her Biroki had build this for her, for them. "Like it? I love!" she exclaimed as she through her arms around him and kissed him roughtly. This was the most amazing thing that she had ever laid eyes on.

"Yes I want to go inside. Plus we need to christen the house." she said suggestively as she wiggled her eyebrows with a smile.

Biroki had never felt so victorious in his life as when she kissed him right then. Had he done good? Yes. He had done good.
"Mmm. Yes, we do, don't we?" he said, pulling back from the kiss to look at her.
Oh right. Leading her in. He took her closely by the arm and gently led her into the house like a proper gentleman. The hearth was there, in embers now, though it could be fanned as needed. There were already herbs and pots on shelves, and, on the table, was a jug of water with fresh flowers. It had been an interesting- and enraging- adventure to find those flowers, but he didn't want to think about that horrible alkidike just now.
Now it was all Zuri. And his... THEIR house. It had a separate room for sleeping and another for eating, a place to bring pets in during dangerous times or bad storms, and a spare room that Biroki didn't want to think about just yet.
The best part, to him, was the windows. Those friggin hard to build windows. He gave her a half-smug sidelong look. Well, she liked it didn't she? Of course she did. She'd said as much before. Surely, though, the inside was even better.

She smiled at him and winked. A new house, a new beginning for the two of them. It couldn't get more perfect if she had dreamed it all up. As he walked her into the house she took everything in with wandering eyes and a bright smile. The flowers were beautiful, and for the most part the house was move in ready, sure she would have to go get her things from her old room but they could spend the night in it that very night if they wanted to. She already knew she wanted too. "My love you've gone above and beyond, I'm so lucky to call you mine and blessed to have this as our wonderful home." she purred to him.

Biroki smiled. As she looked around, he took a flower out of the vase and placed it carefully in her hair- a pink flower, to add balance to what she already had.
"Im glad you like it so much." he said truthfully, brushing his fingers gently along her cheek.
Yes. He was definitely going to say it now. But he hadn't practiced it. He'd gone through it over and over in his head during long nights awake, what he would say, what he would do.
"Z-zuri..." he began. No! This was not the time for stammering. No! Stop stammering!
"I've seen many sunsets in the c-canopies of Jahuar. I've seen them gild the canopies golden and red. I have seen the skies as pink- pinker- than this flower in the evening." He drew away slightly, just to see her- her face, her shoulders, everything. His palms felt cold, his heart felt rabbity- though that wasn't really unusual- but he had to say this. He had to get through it. It was perfect.
"Zuri... you are more beautiful than all of them together. Because you are you. And because you chose me. Little st-stammering me. Of all the handsome and strong men in Ast." At least it happened intentionally, stupid stammer. "Zuri..." he said. This was the hardest part. "Zuri, I..." His voice tried to leave him in the cluster of emotions. He gathered his bravery. He had to say it. "I want to spend my whole life with you."
He knelt- in part because it was romantic and in part because he was so nervous his knees were threatening to knock and his legs were threatening to give out. He took her hands in his and looked up at her imploringly.
"Zuri? Will... w-will... you marry me?"
Time stopped.

When Biroki started to talk Zuri tilted her head slightly, curious to what he was going to say. As he started to spoke she smiled. He was always so sweet, and good with words. Even with his stammer. She had told him time and time again that it was part of the reason why she loved him, just another wonderful thing that made him stand out and oh so different from everyone else. When he called himself little and compared himself to the other men of Ast she raised an eyebrow and rolled her eyes slightly. He knew that she hadn't wanted anything to do with any of them. From the moment she had met Biroki she knew that he was the one for her. Although she loved his compliments this time it seemed different, and she wondered where he was going with this. When he said he wanted to spend his whole life with her she almost replied that she wanted the same thing, but than he got down on one knee and her eyes went wide. Was this what she thought it was! When the words came out of his mouth Zuri flung herself at him. "Oh course of course of course!" she repeated over and over again between kisses.

...and despite how much she liked his stammer, he still hated it. And despite being reassured that he was the only one for her, he still knew that he was not a studly shifter.
But that wasn't important. None of that was important.
"Oh Zuri..." he said, kissing her back with passion. He could show her the bedroom later.
