The gym was where Evangeline headed after some training. She was well prepared, and ready to bring back the spark that Flint had said Volkner lost. The battle started with his Jolteon, and Ev sent out Panzer to take care of it with some ground moves. He stayed out for Volkner's Raichu as well, and then for his Luxray, and finally his Electivire.
He gave her the Beacon Badge and TM57 Charge Beam. Finally she was ready to head off for Victory Road. Before leaving however, she was stopped by Jasmine, and given HM07 Waterfall.
On Route 223, heading for Victory Road, Ev captured a Pelipper and named it Nigel. Ascending the waterfall, she stopped in the pokémon centre to grab Einstein and Boulder for the sake of having the moves she needed to get through the cave. Inside, she encountered a Magenton and caught that as well. This last pokémon that she was capturing was given the name Trinity.
Eventually she reached the Pokémon League, where she healed her pokémon and stocked up on items in preparation for her taking on the Elite Four.

Just as Evangeline was about to get her badges checked, Barry came barging in and challenged her to one last battle. Panzer managed to take down his Staraptor, even if it was with a bit of struggle. His Floatzel came out next, so Ev sent in Dew. It was less of a challenge, but Barry sent in his Rapidash next. Panzer once again came out to take care of it. Next he had sent out his Snorlax. It was frustrating to beat, considering the amount of times it used rest, but Panzer eventually defeated it. Kestrel finished off Barry's Torterra and Heracross.
Still unable to beat her, Barry took off to train some more. On the contrary, Ev went inside to face the first member of the Elite Four, Aaron. His first pokémon was Yanmega, so Ev sent out Panzer. With rock moves, he easily took out the bug pokémon. Next up was Scizor. Kestrel was sent out to take advantage of its fire weakness, however, was returned to have Panzer sent out again and take care of Vespiquen. Friday was sent out when Heracross was, and used her only flying move, Fly, to take it out. His last pokémon, Drapion, was taken care of, once more, by Panzer.
The second member of the Elite Four specialized in ground types. Bertha started off the battle with her Whiscash, while Ev started off with Dew. Being extremely weak to grass, it was easily taken out. Gliscor was sent out next, so Evangeline sent out Permafrost in response. The ice moves defeated it very quickly. Bertha sent out her Golem next, so Dew got some more time on the field. He stayed to take on Rhyperior as well, and when Hippowdon was sent out last, Permafrost went back in to give Dew a break.
Flint was the third member of the Elite Four. Panzer started off to defeat his Houndoom. His Infernape was sent out next, so Friday took care of it with Fly because of her being immune to its fighting moves. Rapidash was next, and Panzer knocked it out as well, followed by his Magmortar, and lastly, his Flareon.
The final member of the Elite Four specialised in psychic pokémon. Lucian sent in Mr. Mime, and Ev sent in Friday. She stayed in to defeat Espeon, and Alakazam after. Kestrel was sent in to beat his Bronzong, and lastly, Friday appeared once more to handle his Gallade.
Even with the four members defeated, that wasn't the end. Evangeline had to challenge the champion. It turned out to be Cynthia, and she engaged the battle with Spiritomb. With no weaknesses, it was difficult to beat, but Palindrome took advantage of not battling yet to take it on with some dark moves. Eventually the Spiritomb was defeated, and next out was a Togekiss. Permafrost dealt with it, and next was Lucario. Kestrel used some fire moves to defeat it. Dew was sent out when Milotic was. It was tricky, due to the fact it had Ice Beam, but Dew held on and managed to not get knocked out. Kestrel was brought out once more to defeat Cynthia's Roserade. The final pokémon to go out was Permafrost against a Garchomp. It was a one-hit KO thanks to a powerful ice move.
And that marked the end of Evangeline's quest to collect the badges and become champion. Professor Rowan and Cynthia took her to a back room, and her journey was recorded forever into the history of time.
