The mare felt more comfortable then she had felt in a long time. She lifted her head up and continued slowly down the path. “You are the first I have come back that has had some kind of spiritual background. Most thought I was odd or wondered why I do what I do.” She was never wild or fun, so she only hoped she wasn’t boring the poor stallion to death. She tended to be a little on the silent side. “Want to see my favorite place?” She asked him and even though she didn’t receive an answer, she began to trot taking a sharp right towards the deep part of the woods. There was something sparking within her. She hadn’t felt this way since she was a young filly. He was making her feel alive again.

With a nod and light laugh the stallion tried to hurry after her..he always had to remember his footing and be aware of the terrain or risk falling. "I cannot wait to see it..this is the most fun I have had in a long while." Behind and above them Rains Song flew, chirping in her own excited manner. Behind him the males tail swayed and wagged happily..it felt almost like home..safe and bright. No one judging him..holding him back or telling him where he could and could not go.

Stopping her run, the young mare stood before what she wanted to show the stallion. Before them was a small pond with clear water, so that they see all the way to the bottom. All the colorful fish could be seen with small ripples layering the surface from the rushing water entering from a thin stream to the far right. Above them was a spot open enough to where you could see the sky through the treetops. Off to the far left was a small cave. Enough room for one, but you could fit two depending on how big the Soquili were. “This is there I like to come at night when the sky is full of stars. The sky’s reflection in the water and the calming nature this whole area gives.”
She nodded looking over to the stallion for a moment. “Maybe I should let you lead the way. It might be more fun to wander into the unknown rather then going to places I have seen before.” She tilted her head to him. There had to be something exciting the both of them could do. “I’m a mystic within my heard and the most I do is say prayers and perform spiritual dances. So I don’t really know how to have fun.” She gave a nod.

Everything was beautiful..he could understand why she liked this place so much! The whole forest had a very..spiritual feel to it. Peaceful, serene and light with past emotions..emotions of ones long since gone. "I like it here..you are the most interesting mare I've ever met." Smiling the stallion peeked in at the fish, letting one claw flick water towards the mare with a playful gleam in his eyes. "Everyone knows how to have fun..even if it's things others do not find that great..that doesn't make you boring." Hearing the word dance his ears flickered, eyes widening a bit. "Really? You dance? I like dancing..it is soothing an makes me feel closer to the earth. Though my feet make it a bit difficult."

Tilting her head to the stallion and gave him a simple smile unsure how to take his compliment since it was so rare for her to receive one. "Really? I don't think anyone has ever said that to be before. I don't normally have many compliments." She shrugged it off and didn't let it bother her. If she did, then she would be depressed all the time. "Then maybe my kind of fun is a little more mellowed out then everyone else's version of fun." She told the stallion taking a peek into the water, but soon her ears perked up at the mention of dancing once more. "Yes I dance, but I haven't danced in a good while. I'm sure you will be a great dancer with some practice. It seems like you could do a lot with those feet of yours." She told him giving a firm nod.

Laughing more boisterously the stallion stretched his back paws a bit, looking to the prints he'd left behind. "Thank you..my mother used to say I could become whatever I wished as long as I worked hard. She said I could become a beautiful dancer.." Smiling fondly at the memory Mikasi'Nell hope his mother would not be too angry..that she would not blame herself for their leaving. Sometimes you just need to find something new..sometimes it is worth it to break the rules. Even if it meant losing all you had once held dear. Shaking away the thoughts, his eyes once more focused upon Astraea. "That's a shame. You seem to be a truly kind, beautiful mare. A bit lonely maybe..but, if you need a friend I'd be honored to call you one. My first friend in 'the outside world'." He wondered what it would be like to see her dance...to see her hair flick a she moved..hear her heart rate pick up speed. Was this what it felt like? To find interest in someone? Someone who he would have never been able to meet before..someone Mikasi'Nell longed to know more about. To see her smiling brightly and hear her laughter echo through the forest. It gentled his spirit..making his heart swell with many strange thoughts and emotions. It was a bit scary. He wanted to say so much to her but, he settled for something simple. "I bet you dance beautifully..perhaps I could see it one day."

Astraea nodded to the stallion and remember when her father use to tell her the same kind of thing. She could be anything she wanted to be just she felt more obligated to become something that helped the family more then it helped herself. "She sounds like she was a good mother. You should be proud that you are a spawn of her." She told him with a small smile. She felt the same way except she...she pretty much came out of thing air. She was a gift to her father and his male lover. Her and Emeric were both blessings for them. "In a manner of speaking...I don't really know where I came from. I believe it was a blessing from the skies and even though I love my father's so much...I'm not their biological child." She said lightly feeling a little sad about it, but she wouldn't let that get to her.
If the young mare could blush, she would have been as red as berries right now. "I suppose I am and I wouldn't mind having you as my friend. Might be worth having someone to speak with and ask opinions of." She told him giving a small nod. She felt comfort in knowing he would be there for her even if they would be only friends for the time being. Her stomach fluttered and her mind was blank. She wanted to say something, but couldn't even find the words to say to him. "You will some day as I would like to see you dance as well. I taught myself though so I don't really know if I'm any good. Maybe we can learn off each other or maybe you could learn off of others? I'm sure other Soquili out there will teach you." She nodded giving him another smile. She was brightening up more then she had hoped.

Losing himself for a moment..seeing the sadness and then her smile. Ah it made his tail give a happy sway..swishing against his side. "Blood means little..if they raise you and love you as their own that is all that matters. You are very blessed." Smiling he stepped around the clearing, peeking in the cave for a moment. "Would it be bothersome if I asked to stay here? Rains Song and I have been traveling for a week now.. It might be nice to settle for a few weeks and learn more about the world."

He was right and the more she thought about it the more she felt it was true. "You are right. We are both blessed to have such caring families. Possibly one day I will let you meet my father. He is a strange one, but he might like to know that I actually have a friend." She heard his question and it didn't take long to ponder the thought. "Of course you can stay here as long as you need to. My father rarely comes this way anymore so I don't think it would be dangerous for you to stay." She nodded before resting herself on the ground with a small sigh. "It's beginning to get dark. Maybe I can think of a story to tell you?" She looked over to the stallion with a smile wondering why this stallion made her feel so comfortable.

Rains Song fluttered down to gracefully perch on the males back, she seemed to be rather stuffed..which made Mikasi'Nell chuckle softly. "It seems my little friend likes it here too..she must have found a tasty plethora of bug's to dine upon." Chirping her agreement it took him but, a moment to gather a few loose branches and a mouth full of soft grass. "A story? What kinds do you know? Ah I'd love to meet them one day if possible..surely they'd be able to teach me even more about the world!" Today had become so peaceful..as the sun lowered he settled within the cave..twisting things together with his mouth and a little help from Rain. Eventually a comfy nest took shape, where the bird nestled down only after stealin one of the stallions precious head feathers. "Naughty little creature..hmph. Thank you..for being kind to me. I enjoy your company.."

"I am happy your little friend likes this area. You can come here whenever you want. I only come here at night so the rest of the time it's pretty open or at least it should be." She told him taking in a deep breath at the thought of the stallion meeting her family. It wasn't a bad feeling, but she didn't want him to meet her cousin Gabriel. He didn't like anything pawed or harpies so she didn't think he would be too fond of her new friend. "My father would like you I think. He has never met anyone with paws or claws before, but he isn't one to judge. More then likely he would show you around especially if your lost. If you ever get lost in these woods I'm sure your going to end up meeting him. It's kind of like his calling to find lost souls and guide them on their path back to wherever they were going." She nodded still trying to think of a good story to tell him. There were so many she could share.
Glancing over at him right when the bird stole one of his feathers, she gave him a worried look. "It didn't hurt right?" She asked resting herself back down again and trying to worry less. "Your welcome. It's the least I can do since you gave me those herbs for free." She nodded and was really beginning to enjoy his company. "As for the story.." She paused and took in a deep breath. "My father has this unique ability to see and speak with spirits. It's pretty much where our whole spirituality comes from. Well one day on his normal walks he met a spirit who was lost and she couldn't find her way. My father asked her where she needed to go and without hesitation he led her to where she needed to go. When he got there, the female spirit began to cry so my father asked her what was wrong. She told him that her mate wasn't there anymore. At first my father didn't understand until he looked more closely at the ground. He remembered the spot because it was one of the few spirits he helped find peace." She stopped and looked down into the water.
"He told her that her mate was happily at rest and the female spirit didn't understand. He told her that he could give her peace of mind as well so that she could join her mate on the other side. So he did." She looked over to the stallion giving a vacant expression. "The reason why he remembered the grave was because it was that of a kalona. The mare was part harpy or at least she had clawed feet." She nodded and let out a small sigh. "The morale of the story since I think you always need one after telling a story is...that he didn't judge them at all. He still helped no matter what breed they were. They obviously loved each other when they were alive and that is what mattered. He himself has a lovemate and because of this...his twin sister won't even acknowledge his existence." She said coldly looking down at the ground. She held back her tear filled eyes. "That is why I accept anyone and everything no matter who or what they are." She nodded faintly.

The story captivated him...he could almost see the story playing out in his mind. What would it be like to see the spirits? Would it be frightening? Eyes closing the stallion rested his head upon his clawed feet. Quietly tracing a pattern over the earth before speaking again. "Do not cry...she is not worthy o your tears. Anyone who would shut out their family simply because they are different..they are not family at all." Smiling tenderly he shifted to nose along her cheek, eye meeting her own for a moment before he pulled away. "You have a beautiful and pure heart..I'm so happy we met. Perhaps it was meant to be...also it only hurt for a moment. I often lose feathers..they always grow back." Gaze soft he watched as the sunset and tiny fireflies sparked to life..flicking about in a seemingly endless dance. "That's one thing that isn't different..that hasn't changed. I suppose fireflies are everywhere."

She lifted her head up and only a single tear fell down her cheek. He was right and she shouldn't cry over someone like that. "You are right." She told him sniffling away her tears and looked to the water once again. "She is someone I don't think I ever want to meet again. I only feel sorry for my father. He lost his twin over something so stupid." She told him feeling the soft touch of his nose against her cheek. This kind of touch made her back away a little bit. It wasn't that she didn't like it, it was more that she wasn't use to that kind of behavior. Physical contact was something she didn't have a lot of when she was growing up. When her siblings played, she would amuse herself in wandering around alone exploring. She didn't really become social until she was an adult.
Lifting her ears up, she looked away and eyed the ground. "Maybe it was meant to be. Though I don't know if I believe in fate. Do you?" She asked him and felt she need to explain herself about why she backed away from him. "I didn't mean to back away...just..I never had much physical contact when I was growing up." She spoke to him lightly before giving him a smile. "Really? I didn't know I had a pure heart, but then again I haven't done anything bad in my life. At least they grow back. They are very pretty." She smiled once more before feeling a small chill run through her body from the night air. She shivered a little and wondered if she should venture back to her cave. "No that is one thing that always will remain the same." She nodded looking at them meeting his eyes which made her look away. "Do you want to sleep here or would you prefer to find a cave or something?" She asked.

Smiling he shrugged a bit in response. Mikasi believed in many things..perhaps it had been fate or some unknown spirit drawing them together. "It's alright..maybe while I'm here you could learn something new too." With a lopsided, playful grin he gave a small yawn..worried that she looked so chilled. "Thank you. They are like my mothers." Glancing over to his sleeping companion the stallion shook his head. "This cave will do just fine..that way you will always be able to find me."

The young mare nodded to him and if she ever needed to him, she could always look here. "You are right. Well I should leave you be and get some rest. I should go home anyway and see if my father needs me." She told him softly as she rose up on her feet looking around for a brief moment giving him a glance for a moment. "Good night. Maybe we will see each other again. If not, then it was nice meeting you." She nodded before seeing the sleeping bird. "Oh and can you make sure Rain gets to know I said goodbye. I don't want to wake the poor things." She told him before stepping away and traveling into the dark woods. She wished she didn't have to leave, but she wanted to check to make sure her father was alright. Even though deep down, she felt a little sad parting with the stallion.
