Tau laughed. He guessed she didn't know what she was talking about, though if you were good enough, in theory, they wouldn't notice that you were lying about your looks. He laughed harder at his own thoughts.

He shook his head slightly. "Meh... I don't know if women really notice the difference between lying and exaggerating. It's all the same to them and they all get mad. Unless your talking about them." He scratched under his chin. In his experience, girls didn't like being lied to... unless you were complimenting them. Then they loved lying and exaggeration. It just drew them in. That mixed with his killer looks, he didn't know why they weren't all over him yet.

He laughed when she forgot his name already. Yep, this one was definitely a female. "How could you forget such a fantastic name as Tau?" He crossed his arms and grinned at her. "Though I can understand if you've just been overwhelmed by my charm. It happens."

He shrugged his shoulders. "Not at all. Never really cared for it. Not that many chicks seem to be into that sort of thing for their men." His father didn't dance, and he had a wife, so Tau hadn't really thought that it was ever that important to him to learn. That and dancing seemed wimpy, definitely girly. It was all swooshing and twirling and leaping. Not a real man's thing.

Kaalnia could have sworn he hadn't told her his name. She didn't usually forget things like that.
Oh...
OH.
Oops!
"Hahaha!" she laughed, "Yeah, that was it! You're too awesome! It all, like, blotted out each other!" She'd probably forgotten his name in the onslaught of WHAT AN AWESOME HEADDRESS AND OOO BODY PAINT.
Things like that happened sometimes, and she was just going to laugh it off despite how silly she felt because she knew she wasn't going to forget again! Tau the leaf man with the awesome headdress and body paint. Who did not know how to dance. That was a major issue in the otherwise awesome fellow.
"You don't know how to dance?!" she asked, incredulously, "You don't like to dance?!" she was positively horrified. "But they love it!" While it was great that she could finally share some insight into woman to this man who seemed to know all the good stuff and have a good game plan, it was almost blasphemous that he wasn't dancing.
"It's... it's like this way that they get to know you and how, you know, you move" she explained, trying to fix the horrible flaw in her new friend, "They can see how strong and sexy you are without you getting into a fight and proving it! They're real mixed about injuries, ya know? Sometimes they like it and sometimes they don't..." She shook her head. She couldn't believe it. Poor guy!

Tau shrugged his shoulders as Kaalnia burst into a near fit at Tau not knowing how to dance. Well that settled it; this one was definitely into girls one hundred percent. Only a woman who liked women would put so much strain on dancing. Tau couldn't see dancing as anything other than how women show themselves off to guys. It was not only super feminine and girly, but ultra lame for men. He could only imagine in order to move like that the men would have to either opt for flashy skirts or tight leotards, and that didn't suit a strong man at all.

Tau burst into laughter at his horribly misguided friend. "Again, a girl is sexy dancing, a man... not so much. The only thing dancing shows is how weak a man can possibly be, not something suited to someone training to become a strong fighter." Tau held a fist up as if solidifying his point. You couldn't dance with big, bulky muscles now could you? They would just get in the way and grace is a thing for women. As was dancing, cooking, cleaning, and all other womenly past times.

Kaalnia was absolutely, completely shocked. Tau seemed to know so much about women, but this... this was so crucial?! How could he not know? How could he get it so completely wrong?!

On some level, Kaalnia was happy she could give him something in return for his advice, which she figured was probably excellent. He knew all about this painting and decorating (By Mother Aisha's boughs she wanted that headdress...) stuff, but dancing... Oh he had it so wrong...!

"Well, I don't know about that..." She hadn't ever seen a man dance, but she was starting to think they were basically boobless women so they probably could! "But my sisters are warriors, and they dance, so that can't be right." she looked at him with an almost determined concern, "It's not weak. Thats just not possible, I mean..." She pointed to her arms. She wasn't bulky, but she had some cording, and she wasn't weak. She just didn't pay attention in drills, that was all! "Battle is like a dance and... and..."

He didn't seem to understand that though, and she was having trouble explaining what was so obvious to her. She shook her head, her expression turning ponderous. "Maybe you just haven't danced before." she said, mainly to herself. Yeah, that was probably it. Of course it was it! "Hey, how about I show you?!" she said, turning to him and giving him a firm friendly clap on the shoulder, "You'll totally see what I mean!"

Tau backed up, his hands held up in front of him as Kaalnia offered her dancing assistance. "Whoa, whoa, whoa there woman. Trust me. It's alright. Maybe next time." Tau mumbled out to the crazy woman in front of him. He knew full well that he wouldn't let her show him next time either. Not unless she let him put his arms around her that is. Tau's face lit up at the thought. Well, he guessed that would be about the only perk of dancing: Female partners. He smirked at the idea of being able to touch on all the dancing girlies. Maybe she was onto something after all, though for all the wrong reasons.

Tau looked up at the sky and his eyes widened when he saw the position of the sun. Ah crap. "Oh! Hey. I have to get going. My parents are going to kill me if I don't get back in time tonight." He seemed to grow a little frantic at the thought and humiliation of being grounded again. Men didn't get grounded; it was so demeaning. "Here; take this. I have plenty more. Think of it as my gift to you." He took off his headdress that he saw her eyeballing incessantly and handed it over to Kaalnia. Maybe there was still a chance to persuade her to play for the other side if he was nice enough. Tau's deviousness was pretty small minded.

He ran a hand through his hair to settle it as he waited for the girl to take it from him.

Next time? Well okay. If he had to go, he had to go.
"Ooo... You should get going then!" she said. Kaalnia knew that parents could be a pain. "Ya gotta keep 'em appeased, otherwise they'll drop in that the worst moments!" Like when you were actually doing pretty well getting a chick. Parents were poison to the whole romance process.
Her eyes widened. "You're giving me this?! Really?!" But, it was his...
Wait...
He had more?!
"Oh, awesome! I'll wear it with honor!" she said, holding it proudly.
Ooo, come to think of it, she should probably find a nice campsite before it got too dark, maybe near a settlement or something? Damn, that meant she had to go too!
Not wanting to damage the kickass piece of headgear she gave him an awkward, manly, strong, energetic, back-slapping hug. "Thanks Tau!" she said, grinning as she headed back towards the trees, "I owe ya one, man!" she said gesturing a see-ya-later, "'Til next time!"

He let Kaalnia take the headdress from him and was more than a little surprised when she gave him a big bear hug with a back slap. Tau stood there awkwardly... not quite sure how he was supposed to hug back to that with her being a woman and all, but he wasn't going to complain when her chest pushed up against his. Mmmm. His face took on a dopey grin, but was wiped away as Kaalnia pulled back. "Yeah, no big deal. See ya."

Tau turned on his heels and ran back into the forest, trying to beat the time and get home.
