Cedomir blinked and considered her words. "I get that.. but they should just learn to live with the fact that some want humans to be around. They are all sequestered in the South with no humans, so why does it even matter to them? We live with them not Choosing, they can live with us Choosing if we want." he said calmly. It was so simple. Just deal with it and move on, and everything could be happier for everyone.

"Because many of them have had bad run-ins with humans. Some have been enslaved or beaten or betrayed... hurt like that is hard to forget," Acacia replied gently. "And when enough of that hurt collects, it begins breeding hatred... and soon the very thought of a two-legger makes them want to kill any they see. Some act on those feelings... others isolate themselves to that they never will." She looked around them, and continued. "Many in the south envy the north's... livelihood. Because most of the south is desert, it's hard to live there. There's no grass or trees... most are forced to eat lizards and desert hares, walk around in the blazing heat, sleep in the freezing cold... It's a hard life. But to them, it's better than being forced to be around humans and elves."

Cedomir shook his head, sadness plaguing his eyes. "It doesn't matter to me. I will protect my family until I share the same fate as my grandmother." He stated simply, looking at her earnestly in the face. For one so young, he was extremely dead serious on this subject.

Acacia's own eyes were dipped in sadness, but for a slightly different reason. "Don't be in a rush to throw your life away," she chided gently. "A life lost cannot be replaced." Her gaze went to the fallen tree. "There was once a foolish Azrien that didn't respect life," she said softly, though it was hard to tell if the words were actually being directed at Cedomir. "He went running out in a storm and was struck by lightning... The gods used this to punish him, putting him into a deep sleep and showing him all of the knowledge of the world: past, present, and future. When he finally awoke, he discovered that a tree had grown into his antlers, making the two inseparable. He could no longer move from that spot, nor remember anything he'd been shown... he even forgot about himself. And thus, the god of knowledge was born."

Cedomir tilted his head as she told her tale before shaking his head at the end. "That's a neat story, but you know that its not real, right?" He asked concernedly. For a grown up to believe in fairy tales? That could be dangerous, Cedo figured. It did no good to dwell on dreams.

Acacia blinked, glancing down at the colt. Then, instead of getting upset, she laughed. "Mibu would be sad if he heard you say that. He's very much real." What a serious foal. Too serious, really. What was wrong with believing in the stories she was told? Was he really so focused on being a warrior of the north that he was willing to give up the joys of foalhood--and possibly the joys of adulthood as well? That was almost as sad as the hatred that had been stirred up between the two warring sides.

Cedomir again tilted his head. "Mibu? Who is Mibu?" He asked in confusion. Why did she keep bringing up random things?

Acacia giggled. He wasn't quite connecting the dots, was he? "Mibu's the god of knowledge, of course. He's a bit scatterbrained sometimes, but he's really nice."

Cedomir sighed. "I'm guessing you'll tell me next that you met him when you traveled up to the heavens, but he granted you another life so you could come down here and confuse foals like me?" He asked, his brows knitted together.

Acacia laughed and laughed. "Of course not!" she exclaimed, white eyes sparkling. "He lives on the Isle. I told you, he's connected to a tree. Well, the whole forest he lives in, really." This colt was way too serious! "Tell you what," she offered. "When you're older, I'll take you to meet him."

Cedomir nodded, though he didn't quite believe her that she would take him. He was about to open his mouth when he heard the familiar sounds of his two brothers Diony and Del. "I've got to go.. Will you be around tomorrow? If so... Can I meet you here? I liked talking with you."
He ran off without an answer because it sounded like he needed to get to Del's aide and fast.

Aaaand he ran off without letting her reply. Returning to her patient father, she sighed. Did he really like talking to her? Cedomir seemed to argue with everything she said... oh well. "Hey, Dad...? Do you think we could come back here tomorrow?"
Naveen blinked and smiled. "We'll see, sweetheart. Let's get going, alright?"
Acacia nodded, following her father towards their next destination. Tomorrow's stop... it was a farm, he'd said. A place where humans grow crops in large amounts to sell or trade. It sounded like a wonderful place to her. She couldn't wait to see it...

Aila was expecting a visit. Damir had been told, and he was on watch for them, while Cedomir was watching Maera and Charli harvest more of the crops. He would run behind Charli and their little plow things, and pick up the vegetables and other things and put them in bags that were hanging down off of Maera, or in a cart that she pulled behind her. All in all, it was a very successful process, one that Aila was glad and happy to use while she was busy mending bracers, harnesses, and such in the Tackle Room... of course... that's not exactly what she was doing since she was currently distracted with Danny, wrapped around her like a vine to its support.

Naveen slowly but steadily approached the farm, occasionally pausing to look back and make sure his fascinated daughter was still following him as they approached the front gate. Seeing a colt running around the perimeter, he flagged him down. "I'm Naveen, a traveling merchant. Would you mind telling your parents we're here? They should be expecting us."
Deldragan nodded, dashing off at his slow top speed to where his father was. "Daaad," he called. "A merchant Azrien's here."
Acacia waited by her father's side, watching the draft Azrien plowing in the fields. It was big and open... it was fascinating. It was nothing like the mountains she was used to.

Damir nodded and called to Cedomir for help. He motioned for Del to come as well, and he went to greet the merchant. He had met the merchant once, briefly when he was a foal and the merchant was here for the same reason, to trade, buy and sell to Aila, who was probably one of Naveen's best customers whenever he came by. "Naveen, its great to see you again. Do you need help with anything? My boys Del and Cedo will be happy to assist, as will I." He grinned at the two, noticing the pretty female, but neglecting to notice the startled look on Cedo's face.
Cedomir's mouth flopped open as he saw Acacia. What was she doing here? He left her yesterday. He flopped his mouth for a couple seconds before blushing and muttering a hello.
