Melvin's swing had Sasha grunting, and all of her attention went to her side. She clutched the spot that he'd hit. While it wasn't a ruthless blow, the lack of shield meant that he struck flesh, and it hurt.
"Weapons are different," she wheezed softly, "more... elegant. It's similar to a dance."
She lashed out with a fist, but missed.

"I think that depends on the weapon and the user. I've seen a lot of people just hack and hack in some blind rage with the intent just to turn the other into paste. It's not a dance. It's just crazy." He said as he turned to dodge. There was an advantage to being lank rather than a mass of muscles. It made you harder to hit.
He hit again, going for her shoulder and just grazing it. Still, it felt strangely off when he hit her. Something was strange.

"Yes, well. You've seen Nona. She's a very graceful weapon. There is no hacking, no smashing, no huge weaponry to deal with. She's effective," Sasha grunted as Melvin took another swing at her, "and she's beautifully precise."
And she was gone.
Sasha's face took on a very ugly expression - teeth bared, lips pulled back - and she swung at Melvin ruthlessly, only to miss.

"I've never seen Nona up close. I've seen her off at a distance, but not enough to pay close attention. I am all for less hacking and more control though." He moved away from her swing, finding it rather strange to have someone miss him this much. He expected Sasha to be more ruthless and bloodthirsty, but she was civil despite her snarl.
"I never have to deal with any of the physical aspects that I think cutting weapons bring. I only have to remain calm, focus, and aim properly." Range weapons also had the great benefit of never being close to the claws and tearing that the short-range fighters had to deal with.
Moving, he went to hit her other side, staying away from places like her face and chest.

"Nona is beautiful. She is sleek and cunning."
Sasha didn't know why she was continuing the conversation. Speaking about Nona only made her feel crazed and mad, and yet to act on those emotions would not end well for herself.
She was already growing tired.
Sasha swung again, aiming for Melvin's shoulder.
"What is your weapon? I don't think we've ever talked about it."

"I don't about my weapon that much." To which he did sense a grumble from Saliva. he had been doing much better in actually listening her than just ignoring her all together, but their relationship was far from what Saliva considered amazing.
"Saliva is a Mongolian Death Worm. While I do like her precision and aim, she shoots plasma rounds that are a bit cool but look very....messy." He grunted at the hit to his shoulder and rubbed it before moving sideways and hitting Sasha near her side closer towards her back.
"She has a loud mouth."

Sasha stepped on Melvin's toe completely on accident.
"Nona is an Alkonost. Head of a beautiful woman, body of an owl. Similar to harpies, I suppose. When we first bonded, she was loud and obnoxious and I could hardly stand her. But we came to an understanding. I think it's important to do so."
Sasha cleared her throat and stepped back from Melvin, holding her fists aloft. Her body ached where his punches had landed, but it felt almost like paying penance.

"I couldn't stand Saliva when I met her, and didn't welcome noises in my head no matter how much people wanted to tell me to love it. I still find it invasive when she speaks up out of the blue, but at least she doesn't annoy me as much as before."
Oh. I'm touched. Now if only you'd listen to me instead of putting up with me.
Kinda asking for a lot there, aren't you? He could feel Saliva smile.
"She has her good moments too." He admitted, throwing a punch to her side and missing when she moved.

Sasha was silent as she swung again, this time aiming for Melvin's thigh. This wasn't really an exercise in really physically harming the other - but her fists were starting to ache, and that only served as a poignant reminder that Nona was gone.
"What would you do if your weapon was taken from you, and you had nothing?"
What would anyone do? Would they still complain about their weapon? Or would they feel a deep ache in their chest just as Sasha did?

The punch to his thigh wasn't anything major, and at this point it was more about getting used to throwing a punch, seeing an opening, and wearing the other person down. It was at least a workout, and easy going despite both of their concentration.
The question was curious, and he considered it as he went for a punch to her shoulder. "I'd be upset, but I have nothing else to do. We gave our lives and can't leave what we are. I'd be stuck to do whatever I could weaponless until they find a way to give me a weapon. I'd work in the Labs if I could. Maybe the Infirmary or just research."
He sidestepped again. "Though if anyone I knew got hurt, I would never be able to go help save them - not that I'm not much use now."

Sasha thought about that for a moment. "You wouldn't go back and try and rescue your weapon? You would just accept the fact that your partner was taken from you, and move on with your life? You wouldn't even return to the place she was taken from, if only to find answers, anything?" If she was talking too much, she didn't care. Sasha moved forward, swung, missed - the momentum carried her around and she stumbled to fall to one knee, cursing softly beneath her breath as she straightened. HP: 30/40 DMG: 0

"You never went into specific details with that question. I thought you meant taken without any possibility of ever getting it back. Of course I would go after my weapon. It's bound to a hunter and very hard if impossible to get another. A hunter without a weapon is at a great disadvantage here, and with how tolerant our leaders are, well..." If you weren't useful, you were either sent out to die or put in a pod.
He turned, watching Sasha fall to one knee. he did not attack her then and instead waited for her to get up.
"I'd gather whoever was willing to come with me and go on a rescue mission for my weapon." It was a strange question to ask, but with Sasha not using her own weapon, he wondered if she was thinking of far extremes. "Are you worried someone will take your weapon someday?" HP: 38/50
