This wasn't exactly his area of expertise but having done good work in the fight against Trine over at the rogue gold's hold the harper had decided that it was worth taking his chances in order to get his name spoken in high places again. Moving on, moving up, if he stopped he would stagnate and never get to where he wanted to be within the wherhold.
As Kleos appeared from the thicker jungle into the sparse trees of the training area A'nos frowned, this wasn't what they had planned and he didn't like it when things didn't go according to plan. Striking at this woman didn't send out the strongest message possible in his opinion, the best targets were N'mol and the gold riders and with the gold riders injured and thus not likely to be drawn out it was N'mol who had been the natural choice.
Well the crimson rider would just have to do, they could save the child wingleader for another day.

It didn't take the scarred rider long to work out that she'd walked into a trap. Perhaps she ought to have known from the start but her mind had been elsewhere, occupied with the captives taken at Malvren. In all honesty most of her thoughts rested with one of them in particular, though she felt she ought not to admit it. As a leader she ought to have equal concern for all of the captive... but she did not, she thought of her friend Siata and she couldn't help it.
When she did spot her adversaries the crimson rider's scarred face contorted into a snarl and she drew the long knife she wore at her belt. "Wherholder scum, I should have known that missive came from Keller's poisoned quill! Come now and face my blade, honourless beasts!"
With a cry of rage Kleos charged, her knife gleaming bright in the sunlight. Instructions- All characters who did not make a concealment roll were spotted by Kleos and take -2 to dodge rolls whenever she attacks them. - This post contains an imitative roll! If the result is even Kleos strikes first, if odd the wherholders strike first. - I will be posting actions by Kleos appox. every 12 hours, but will post faster if all PCs have posted. PCs have until Tuesday night (11:59PM GMT) to complete this mission! Combat info-Each wherhold character gets 1 action per turn (attack, dodge, use item) -Bandages heal 3hp and take one action to use. All PCs have a stock of bandages. - If 80% of the human party reaches 0HP, the mission fails. In the case of a failed mission, conscious PCs must make Run for the Hill attempts – those that fail are captured by Trine, those that succeed escape. - If the mission is successful, conscious PCs may rescue one unconscious PC each as they escape. - PCs may be armed with blunt (+2 damage) or bladed (+3 damage) weapons. - Wherholder human PC stats: HP = 30. Attack = 1d4(+ weapon modifier). Dodge = 1d10 - Wherholder wher PC stats: Green/blue - HP = 35 Attack = 1d6 Dodge = 1d8 Brown/bronze HP = 40 Attack = 1d6 Dodge = 1d6 - Wherholder humans and whers get one action per round. - Once they post PCs must wait for a post by Kleos before making their next post. There is however no post order between PCs, eg if Harmony is being slow A'nos doesn't have to wait for her. - Dodge works against all incoming damage in a round, not a specific opponent or attack. - Kleos' stats: HP = 250. Attack = 1d8(+3). Dodge = 1d8+2 - Special! Summon Moriath.

Shards! They'd been spotted. Moving fast, V'ell lunged out of cover and went at Kleos' unprotected back with her knife in hand.
Unfortunately, she'd misjudged the timing, and the crimsonrider stepped forward at the same time that V'ell struck. Not as solid a hit as she had been hoping for.

They were spotted, thanks to some that hadn't hidden quite as well, which was just as fine with him. They would have been noticed eventually anyways once they started attacking.
He stepped out of the bushes, his knife held tightly in his hand. He had come prepared to kill, and he rushed at her, slashing at her as he passed.

Ugh. Being well-hidden did absolutely no good when others were not. How very irritating! But it would have been a fight regardless, so it made little difference, in the end. Knife at the ready, Ralla sprang from her hiding place and rushed forward, slashing.

As his handler charged so too did Harmonsk, snaking in behind her with a quick dab of his claws at the enemy. They would ruin this one just as they had ruined the ones at the hold, and Harmony would be very pleased with him.

He hung back only long enough to make a more through assessment of the situation, mainly trying to decide where he could do the most damage with the least risk to his person. This brief delay led to a cluster of his allies around Kleos and the Harper broke into a sprint to get around behind her.

There were more people than she had marked, and before she could react they were upon her. Though she did her best to dodge and weave out of the way of their attacks knives and the claws of a wher ripped through her flight jacket and into her flesh. A sharp pain in her back made her cry out and wheel around to face the man who had just tried to stick his knife between her ribs, fortunately she had been moving and the blade made a far shallower wound than he had intended. That didn't mean he wouldn't pay.
One strike, two strikes, quick and deft. "Have you no honour?" She demanded of the dark-eyed man as he staggered back a pace. "Face me like a rider, not a cowardly assassin who cannot stand toe to toe with their adversary!"

Having this many people - not to mention a wher - crowded around one person and trying to attack them made the actual attacking a bit more difficult. There were probably better ways to have gone about this, but if this was how Keller had wanted it done, so be it. Ralla struck at the crimsonrider again, but she wasn't doing well in the crowded circumstances.

Like Ralla, V'ell was struggling to even get in a solid hit around the wher's bulk. There were more efficient ways to set up an ambush than to just have everyone blindly attack at once - and once she was trusted enough within the wherholds to run these sorts of missions herself, things would be different. Oh yes.
She hung back for the moment, darting in for a fast attack but otherwise waiting for the first wave of attackers to falter so she could close in.

This was turning out to be far more of a brawl than an assassination, with so many of them, and he wished he had paid more attention in the training when it came to fighting in a group.
What they were doing didn't seem to be very effective.
He stayed towards the outside of the group, and then, when he saw an opening, darted in and slashed.

Ignoring the crimson rider's foolish high-flown words Harmony lashed out again and gave a piercing whistle, and that along with a touch on Harmonsk's mind ordered the wher to go for her legs.

Harmonsk wasted no time in obeying the command, but he did wave his lithe form out of Ralla's way as best he could. This was the best way to fight, to kill; as the pack. Snarling with savage glee he snaked out his neck and snapped his teeth at Kleos' thigh before springing back to let another ally get in where he had been.

Apparently behind the woman was the least safe place to be. A'nos cried out in pain at the first blow, raising his dagger to try to parry the second. This wasn't his line of work, it really was not.
