Heidi's suspicious look was given a squint. "I tol' you. My ma read the books." He cleared his throat. "I also mighta watched the movies." Tuck's lips twitched. "I also mighta read the first two books just to see what all the fuss was about, but I get to keep my man card because I was only really readin' 'em for the sexy parts. There ain't even no sexy parts in 'em, I dunno why all the girls I knew was goin' crazy over them books."

"The implied sex isn't until the final book. That's when they became rabbits that destroyed floors and furniture." Heidi informed him very matter-of-factly, giving a little shrug when he said he didn't understand them. "A lot of women mistake the possessive, controlling stalker boyfriend as sweet and romantic. It taught me what kind of guy not to look for~." Heidi relaxed again, leaning in to nestle her head under Tuck's chin. It had to be like five in the morning. What sane person would willingly be awake at this hour?

"Yeah, well. My advice is just to stay away from all of the guys on this island. Nothin' but trouble." He cracked a yawn, his jaw popping softly. "'specially them Suns. Suns ain't nothin' but trouble." Tuck let out a low, rumbling sound of absolute comfort. "S'nice." He might've started snoring. Again.

"You're a guy." Heidi mumbled sleepily, moving a hand to try and grasp at Tuck's shirt like a child reaching for a security blanket. But she found nothing and instead just rest the back of her knuckles against his chest. Tuck was just lucky that Heidi had fallen asleep before he started snoring, curling up ad cuddling close against her friend like he was a large, warm teddy bear.

The next time that Tuck woke up he was on his back. There was a warm, blanket-swaddled weight pressed to his side, and for a few moments he wasn't entirely sure who it was. It took him a second to shake off the fog of sleep - he couldn't remember the last time he'd slept so well - and when he realized who was pressed up against him, Tuck couldn't help but smile. Aww, Heidward all wrapped up in her cocoon. Tuck was reluctant to move. So he just sneezed instead.

Heidi slept very well once she was able to tune out Tuck's snoring. Did he always do that or was it just because he'd been punched in the face and was still healing? Regardless it was still a pretty good night's sleep. She didn't move much most nights, at most her head had found his shoulder and an arm was free of her blanket cocoon and draped across Tuck's chest. The sneeze startled her. Heidi gasped and sat up sharply for all of two seconds before she settled back down, eyes wide and looking around. This wasn't her bedroom. Where--oh! Right! She had moved to Tuck's room! She blinked, sitting up again and looking down at Tuck. Her hair was a mess, sticking up in places and looking like she'd taken a tumble down a hill. At least she looked slightly more awake than when she had first arrived. "Morning," Heidi greeted him with a sleepy smile, her voice hadnt woken up yet either. "Almost forgot I came here~." Now she laughed and curled up beside Tuck again. Don't wanna get uuuuuuuup.

"Mornin'," Tuck rumbled with a toothy grin, dimples out in full force. He didn't want to get up, either - Heidi made one hell of a snuggle-buddy, and he was comfortable as all hell. "I don't even remember why you came," he continued, gingerly rubbing his still-bruised jaw. He glanced over at the bedside clock. It was still early, almost time to get up, but at this point Tuck wasn't sure he wanted to. "Was it about jogging or did I dream that? Did I say anythin' embarrassin'?" He probably had. Whatever. It was Heidi. She would never betray him.

"It was jogging, yes. But I was stupid early so I kinda just sleep walked here, I guess." Heidi confirmed, closing her eyes and totally threatening to fall asleep again. Did he say anything embarrassing? Hm...well they mostly made Twilight jokes back and forth. Heidi hummed. "I think I broke up with you because your face is covered with bruises. How does it feel, by the way? I thought we were supposed to heal super fast and stuff." Odd. What else... "Oh, you also sound like an angry dinosaur when you sleep. I don't think even my dad snored that loud." Because that was important. He needed breathe right strips for sure. She opened her eyes and idly poked at Tuck's chest. Geeze, it was like poking a rock covered with flesh. How was this even possible. "That was fun. Can we have more sleepovers?" She hadn't seen him since Rep had embarrassed her enough for her to flee. She did feel kinda bad about that.

"We can always go joggin' later, I guess. I'm usually up and at 'em at about four if I'm not tryin' to sleep. I think Herryk's hard work has made us both pretty tired," Tuck chuckled and got more comfortable. He'd been so exhausted, and yet unwilling to sleep because of the nightmares that plagued him. "Breakin' my heart," he rumbled with false grumpiness, "an' I got my a** kicked in a spar. Lil' Sun named Peyton. She don't seem the type to hold back. Least I ain't got stitches an' I can talk right. Can't believe you broke up with me. Cold. Ice cold." Tuck shrugged his broad shoulders. "You can sleep over any time you want, Heidi. Door's always open." He lifted an eyebrow. "You gotta keep me out of trouble 'round here. S'been bad. I been bad."

So she hadn't been too early. Heidi gave Tuck a look. "What human willingly wakes up at four in the morning. The sun wasn't even up yet." That was when he went jogging?! Geeze! Peyton? She didn't know a Peyton, but she was sure she'd meet her at some point. She pat his chest when Tuck complained about her breaking up with him. "Don't worry, just spend a couple months acting like me breaking up with you was more important than living and I'll come back to you in time." Heidi assured him since he was just so heartbroken. Trouble? Bad? Now Heidi looked confused. Was he...kidding? She couldn't tell. "What've you done?"

"It helps to get up at four a.m. when I ain't even been sleepin' yet. Gets my mind offa things that I'd rather not think 'bout, you know? Lay here in bed thinkin' 'bout things that're best left alone or get outta bed and go runnin'. I was actually kinna nappin' this morning when you texted me, but usually I'm up. Usually." He squinted. "You's awful sassy in the mornin'." Tuck shrugged and reached over to ruffle her messy hair. "What've I done?" He gave Heidi a woebegone look. "Pretty girls, Heidi. Pretty girls. The kind that get me in trouble."

When he hadn't even slept yet?! When did Tuck sleep?! This sounded serious. What bothered him so much? It seemed her friend here was more than the ball of dimples and sunshine that he advertised. Now Heidi was actually kind if worried for him. "I'm always sassy," Heidi replied simply. "I'm a sassbucket of Internet memes and Harry Potter references." Duh, Tuck. She gave a squeak of indignation when her hair was ruffled. Nooo! Her luxurious platinum locks! Ruined forever! Tuck how could you do something so awful. "Pretty girls get you in trouble?" Heidi blinked. "What? Did you tap someone's wife're somethin'?" She didn't realize how close to the truth she was. It was meant to be a joke. "Maybe you should give the pretty girls a break and the not-so-pretty girls some loving. I'm sure they'd appreciate it." pinchmonster Your username is now in my autocorrect

Tuck gave Heidi a pained look, all remnants of humor wiped from his face. "Not someone's wife just." He cleared his throat uncomfortably. "Someone's.. significant other? Girlfrien'?" Would Heidi think less of him for that? He hoped not. He'd only wanted to help Nevada, help himself, and enjoy their time spent together in the process. She'd needed something from him and he'd been all too willing to participate. Tuck shook his head and swung his legs over the side of the bed, glancing at Heidi over his shoulder "Problems is there ain't no not-so-pretty girls. Ain't met one yet."

Heidi's eyes widened as Tuck corrected her. Oh..uh... wow. Okay then. "Oh, dude...I..I was just kidding I didn't mean to actually.." Crap. Now she felt bad. Sure, it wasn't cool that Tuck banged someone's girlfriend, but maybe he didn't know? Or maybe it was super complicated? Whatever it was Heidi wasn't sure it was any of her business. Ah! No! Was tuck leaving?! Noooo! Heidi scoot up to sit beside him as Tuck sat on the edge of his bed, freeing her arms from her tangled up blanket cocoon and flopping across his lap on her stomach. "Psh," Heidi scoffed, her cheeks slightly pink as she rolled her eyes. Hadn't met a not-so-pretty girl yet. Right. "Then I'll just follow you around with a bucket of ice. That'll keep the ladies from getting you all hot 'n bothered." It was a joke. Honest.

Tuck couldn't help but laugh at Heidi. "I know. You ain't allowed to feel bad, though, so knock that off." His eyes widened when she threw herself across his lap, though a grin spread across his lips. "What can I say. I'm the kinda man that can find somethin' beautiful 'bout damn near any female I meet. The way I was raised. You females are to be respected." He shrugged his broad shoulders, that grin on his face growing broader. "Aw, now you're startin' to sound like my sister. You gonna dump ice down my shorts?"
