When Kadriye crouched down Ilyra had to resist taking a step back. Was she going to use her magic on her? Her old mommy always asked Eshe to do that, but Eshe always told her know and to stop asking. Maybe Kadriye was going to? She wasn't sure if she wanted her to use magic on her, it was kind of... Well scary, though she would never admit that to anyone!

However when Kadriye put her hands on the sand and not on Ilyra she felt a rush of relief. She watched carefully as the sand started to shift. As the sand started to move she took a step back and grabbed Briella's hand, ot even really noticing that she was doing it. It was Aisha! A mini Aisha made of sand. "Woah......" was all she managed to say. Her eyes were wide. She had never seen something so wonderful! Maybe this girl wasn't so bad after all.

Again Briella nodded. She was pretty sure that Eshe wasn't going to retire any time soon. She didn't look like she was that old? Did that mean that Kadriye got to do whatever she wanted until then? Well not whatever she wanted, she had responsibilities of course. But in the relationship department... Ah this was just so confusing. Leave it to fall for the one and only mystic in training. Why couldn't she have just fallen for one of her normal sisters, why did she had to pick the most special one out there. But then again that was why, because Kadriye was special.

When Kadriye put her hands on the ground Briella moved to watch better. She had never seen Kadriye preform magic, just wondered about it. And while she would never ask her to show her a bit of her magic, she was glad that Ilyra did. As Aisha began to form and Ilyra grabbed her hand she smiled.

"It's beautiful Kadriye. I didn't know you could do that." she said with awe in her voice. Yes her mind was made up, if she had the choice she would have picked to be a mystic for sure. All of a sudden she found herself wondering what other kind of wonderful things that Kadriye could do. hopefully one day she would find out.

It made Kadriye feel warm and content to know that her display of magic had made her kin happy. There were more useful applications of the skill, like bringing up a sheild of earth to block an attack in battle. Still, it was nice to just have fun sometimes and since all magic practice was good for improving control you could never say she was being completely frivolous with her displays.

When she was sure the sand would hold it's form Kadriye looked up at her audience with a grin. "Thank you both." Sometimes it was nice to get a chance to show off.

And then she looked up! If it was even possible Kadriye's display became even more amazing now that she was doing it without thinking about it as much. She even spoke, talking to the girls. She waited for the mini Aisha to come tumbling down at any second.

"When I was born they thought I was a mystic." she said nodding. "I never really thought about it, since I'm not one, but I think it would be pretty cool to be able to do things that you can do. But you also said it's boring, so maybe not. Mo... she had to stop herself. Since Briella had said she was her adopted mom was she spose to call her that around Kadriye? Better safe then sorry. She was starting to like this girl, she didn't want to say the wrong thing and then never see her use magic again! "...Briella is teaching me how to use a bow. Sometimes her lessons are boring, but most of the time they are fun."

Ilyra smiled at Briella. She always told her when the lessons were getting boring, so that would come as no surprise to Briella.

"No, thank you for showing us." she replied. She smile as Ilyra began to talk more. That was normally a good sign to how much Ilyra liked a person. If she didn't like someone she wouldn't talk as much, sometimes she didn't talk at all. However she had noticed that the more Ilyra talked, the more she liked someone.

When Ilyra called Briella's lessons boring, she put on a mock hurt face. "What! I thought that everything I taught you was exciting." she said holding back a laugh. She knew sometimes it would get boring, but she wanted Ilyra to know everything. Not just the fun parts.

"You should come by our home tree some day." she told Kadriye. "Maybe you could help me make my lessons less boring." she said half teasing Ilyra and half being serious. She would love to see more of Kadriye if she could.

"I'm only qualified to teach certain subjects but I would be honored to help in any way I could." Kadriye murmured. It was one thing to help one of her kin but Briella wanted her to help teach the youngling she had adopted. To Kadriye that was a big responsibility and spoke volumes about the sort of trust the older female had for her. It made the young mystic happy to think she had forged such a bond with the other alkidike.

Briella smiled at Kadriye. She was happy that the younger girl said yes. It was aparent that Ilyra liked Kadriye, and since to her Kadriye was pretty important it would mean the world to her if Kadriye took some time from her busy schedule to come and help Briella with Ilyra. Although she knew some sisters pleaded for children by themselves, she was raised with two mothers and she thought that was the right way to do it. Of course, Kadriye wasn't agreeing to be Ilyra's second adoptive mother, that would be crazy to ask of her, but still.

Okay Briella had to stop thinking before she got ahead of herself. "I'm sure Ilyra would love any kind of help." she said looking over to see what Ilyra thought of all this.

Ilyra watched as the two of them started talking about Kadriye coming to help her learn. Yes! "Well she isn't the best teacher, so if you come to help maybe I'll actually learn." she teased with a laugh.

She loved when Briella taught her, she had taught her things that she never thought she would learn. However she firmly believed that the more the better. And although she adored Dyakida, she wasn't much of a teacher.

"Please maybe I can teach you something!" she started to think of what she could teach the mystic. There had to be something! She looked over at Briella's smile. Yes, her mommy was happy with her.

"Well there are plenty of things I don't know either and since much of my studies are directed towards my future position I'm sure you will learn other things before me. I would love to learn something from you as well." While she would have helped regardless an exchange of knowledge even from a child's points of view was a worthy endeavor in Kadriye's mind.

As she listened to them speak she began to wonder if Kadriye had ever been trained to use a weapon. She knew that she would use magic to defend herself if it was ever needed, and that every one of her sisters would lay down their life for Kadriye, but maybe it would be best if she at least learned a little bit about using a weapon. "Kadriye were you ever taught to use a weapon also? Just in case." she asked curiously. If not that was something that both Briella and Ilyra could teach Kadriye, and if so she was sure there were other things she could think of.

Ilyra jumped up and down from the excitement. "Oh I can't wait! When do you think you will be able to? They keep you pretty busy right? Since your so important?" Ilyra demanded. She knew that it would most likely be some time before Kadriye was able to come and see them, from what her old mother had taught her mystics were pretty much the most important sisters. Without them there would be no one to talk to Mother Aisha! Yes, Kadriye was very impoant and this little teaching lesson was one thing that Ilyra knew she would have to wait for. She wasn't looking forward to the wait, but she knew she would have to. She would try to not bug Briella to much while waiting. Or maybe they could go to the mainland and see Kadriye there!

Kadriye looked thoughtful for a moment before replying "I should be free in ten days." There would be a break in her studies and duties then and she could find the time to come to the mainland and help. Lessons would have to be infrequent but the young mystic woman was sure she could make the most of the time available. After all teaching the young was important.

At Briella's question she shook her head and gave a wry smile. "I am woefully under equipped to deal with non magical weapons. I spend more time trying to figure how to hold them than anything." Her mothers had accepted that she was meant to be a mystic and had never sought to teach her anything but basic hand to hand defense. "I guess it's not really a priority to teach me that." She thought it'd be nice to learn but Kadriye understood that wielding magic was meant to be her main source of offense and defense. Teaching her to control and utilize her rare skills was more important to most of her kin and mentors.

( sorry for the wait, RL got crazy for a bit)

Briella nodded. "Well if you would like maybe we could go over basics? So we are trading skill for skill?" she suggested. She wasn't sure what she would want to teach Kadriye. Maybe the bow would best for her? That was she would be far away? Plus she could only imagine the damage that would be done from a magically infused arrow.

Ten days was no time, it had been more than that since the last time she had seen Kadriye and she had thought it would be a lot more time.
PostPosted: Thu Oct 17, 2013 2:55 pm

Ilyra clapped her hands together. Yes ten days wasn't all that much time at all! She had been thinking weeks, maybe even months! But days, yes days wasn't all that bad. When Briella suggested that they teach Kadriye to use a weapon she smiled. "Yes! I could teach you to shoot and arrow!" she chimed in! She was happy they found something that she could teach someone as knowledgeable as Kadriye, but she did know how to shoot a bow and Kadriye didn't. Maybe that was what they could show her how to do?

"I would enjoy that very much, I should manage to figure out the basics with your assistance." It may even be helpful in allowing her to harvest certain ingredients and things she needed from time to time. Being able to knock things down from on high without using magic or relying on Qi would be quite the relief. Kadriye had a feeling this was going to be very beneficial for all involved.

" I would like to talk with you more but I really should get back to looking for shells. I don't have nearly enough and I'll have less free time to help you if I fall behind on my duties." Balancing her responsibilities and her desires was becoming more difficult all the time for the young mystic.
