Lydia had forgotten about her pain for the moment, right up until Hannah asked her if she needed any patching up. Then the pain in her legs returned full force and she let out a hiss of a breath, and looked down at the deep claw marks welled up with blood. She was lucky that dragon hadn't hit a major artery! As it was, she was definitely feeling just a little bit lightheaded, and definitely dizzier then usual.
"Oh, you know I actually think I might need something." She gave the woman a shaky smile, then reached back behind her in the car for her med-kit that was sitting on the passenger side seat. "I shot it." She said, seemingly out of nowhere, nodding towards the discarded shotgun lying on the ground next to her own blood. "I shot it twice, but it just kept on coming. I guess I should have thought about ramming it with the vehicle too." She let out a laugh that ended in a soft snort, then opened up her med-kit and began pulling out gauze and bandage, antiseptic cream, and whatever other items looked useful, including some tylenol which she popped in her mouth and swallowed first.
"Glenda." She repeated the name as she wrapped her legs, looking past the woman to the older lady standing nearby, writing in a notebook. "I'm Lydia. I'm a mermaid..." She glanced at the man standing not far off as well. "He's a mermaid too. Not a merman though, no. Only Algie was the merman."
Was being the keyword here. Was, in this case, meant deceased.
Eventually Lydia eased her way out of the SUV, leg's all a-bandaged. She gave the old lady a salute, ready to suggest they pile into the helicopter if that was the plan, when a familiar voice called her name.
"Nadya!" She called out, hobbling towards the woman that had been with her at the room beyond the kraken's den. "You certainly did. But...what about Penny?" She didn't see the other woman coming just yet....did that mean she got held up along the way?
Letting the two island workers have their reunion moment, Lydia turned to gaze at the helicopter once more, the possible instrument of their salvation. At the suggestion by Hannah to board, she turned and beamed at them both. "I think I would very much like a helicopter ride." It didn't even occur to her that piloting a helicopter might actually be
difficult. Really, how hard could it be? She supposed that the flying monsters might become an issue as they tried to leave but....no, she wasn't going to stay on this island and wait for help that would likely never come.
She limped after the other two, and boarded the copter, waving for Glenda and Hawkeye to follow.
