Nodding in sympathy to Derek's tirade against the poor balloon, Trev nevertheless couldn't keep his glee at being missed again completely at bay.
"Oh come on! Seriously, dude? You gotta do better than that! Look, I'll show ya!"
Quickly seizing another balloon, Trev ran through the crowd of children, giggling and grinning wildly as balloons exploded all around. Then, once he was reasonably sure that Derek had almost lost track of him, he ducked behind the other boy and and aimed, radiating smugness as it exploded against Derek's backside.
Truly, they were either going to end up best buds for life or end up murdering each other after that little insult to Derek's already bruised pride.

Ooh, bubbles! He was momentarily distracted from the game when he noticed a tub full of bubbles, and Bryn scooped up a handful. They were clearly here to be played with, and he could see several other kids nearby that were just asking to be covered in bubbles.
He snuck up close to one of the boys, Briar, and then tossed the bubbles at him. "Gotcha!" He shouted, giggling as he ran off.

When Ralph finally got away from the sudsy mess he slipped his way over to the cooler with the water balloons. He was looking for his next target, who would that beee?
Spotting a guy with glasses he waited until the kid turned his back before aiming directly for the guy's shirt. Ralph was starting to wonder if he had an extra pair of clothes with him, this was getting messy! Ralph was watching the balloon as it wobbled it's way towards the other kid, until the kid walked away, "AHH..." He stood there mouth open thinking wait no... the balloon splatted harmlessly on the ground and bounced once before busting. Sending water everywhere but had hit none of his target.
Ralph pouted a bit, he needed to throw these things faster if he was going to hit the other kids. Obviously that would've fixed the problem.Quote: Ralph has MissedHit: 2 Miss: 1

Samantha looked at the tub of bubbles, abandoning her balloon on the floor. Bubbles? How did one fight with these? She didn't think they were dirty at least. They were made out of soap after all, so how dirty could they be? She decided to take a small handful...
And regretted it.
It felt so gross and she hated it immediately. She started shaking her hand rather hard, throwing bubbles in every direction and she realized she managed to hit someone nearby like that. Was this a tactic? Could she just do this kind of a fighting tactic?
She did not want to, though, because it felt so weird to have some bubbles on her hand. All in all she did not think she was enjoying this game much, but... she also wanted to keep playing because she liked to play.

Jason had a second target in mind, Bobby-Sue. The little girl was always making fun of him and he did enjoy teasing her back but he knew that it would be immensely satisfying to see the little redheaded girl soaked so he got prepared to throw his second balloon.
SPLAT!
Jason dropped his balloon as a second one hit him on the shoulder turning his bright red shirt dark with water. Jake had gotten his revenge.

"Shut up man." Derek grumbled only to blink as Trev bolted from the spot. Oh crap. This was not going to end well. And soon enough, Derek's shorts where a heck of a lot wetter then he remembered them to be. He was suddenly immensely happy he had decided to wear swim shorts today or this would be awkward. "Dude!" He yelled, whipping about to spot the boy in the bushes grinning like a jerk. Derek snorted as he dove for another balloon and launched it in one fluid motion. It hit its mark.
And promptly exploded into confetti
Derek just stared for a minute before bursting out laughing. "You look like a pinata."

On his way over to pick up another balloon, Briar hesitated as he spotted a tub with lots of sudsy water.
Sudsy water equalled bubbles and bubbles were much easier to throw than the balloons - 'sides Kevin hadn't said that he had to hit more people than him using balloons - he just had to hit more people.
Scooping up some of the bubbles he tried to flick them at some of the other kids and was rewarded for his efforts by a laughing shriek from someone running by - success!

A faceful of confetti brought Trev's gloat-fest to an abrupt end. Coughing a bit and spitting confetti, he looked up and shot a dazzling smile at Derek.
"Hey, that's the way to do it, dude! Guess I won't start calling you Soggy Butt after all."
Laughing happily, the boy shot off, trailing confetti in a wave behind him as he grabbed more balloons and began to stalk Derek playfully. He wouldn't aim for the butt this time. Maybe a leg or arm though... Throwing with all the skill contained in his scrawny little body, Trev pitched the balloon and gave a cheerful crow when it to connected.
"Tellin' ya, broski, I got the skills!"

Ralph had pulled out a nice large, blue water Balloon. Now who was his next target? He seen a girl with pigtails she looked like an easy target. He grinned as he lobbed his newest balloon at her.
Ralph's face fell when he noticed the balloon wasn't going to hit it's target. Now that wasn't cool. He puffed his cheeks out a little as he grabbed a purple balloon for his next target. He knew he didn't have any left over soap on his hands by now.
So he began to stalk the field.

The bubbles hadn't been such a good idea. As Bryn went to throw his next balloon, it slipped out of his hands, landing on the ground with a harmless splat. And he got hit by somebody else's water balloon too! He pouted for a moment, before grabbing a new balloon. He would have his revenge!

"Oh! This means war man." Jason scooped up another balloon and started chasing Jake around the field. He had him in his sites when he tripped over his shoelace and went down hard, the white balloon flying out of his hand.
When he sat up Jason realized that he didn't fall down on just the grass but landed on a dropped balloon. Now the front of his shirt, as well as some of his pants, and his shoulder were wet. "Jake you’re a dead man." His giggles a bold face lie to his hard words. He got to his feet and prepared to return the favor and soak Jake down to his underwear.

Derek frowned. Soggy butt? "Really? That's the best name you could come up with?" When Trev bolted out of the bush, Derek instantly shot away for a minute before going for his own balloon. His attempt was foiled when Trev's caught him squarely in the leg sending him flying over the one he wanted and face first into a pile of mud. Wiping the mud from his eyes, Derek grabbed the first thing he could and threw.
...Unfortunately he completely over shot it. Instead he hit a bee hive.
".... Uh. I dunno about you. But I'm going over there. Way over there." Derek said, pointing before bolting like a mad man.

Sammy, deterred by the soapy water and returning to the water balloon idea, returned to her miserable excuse for a balloon. It had leaked a bit, punctured by one of its falls, maybe, but the hole was so small it was nearly impossible to make out just where the water was leaking from. Even so, there was a small puddle of dampness around the balloon and the thing dripped as she picked it up.
"I hate you, balloon!" she declared in a huff, holding it by the tail, where it was tied, again. She looked around and spotted someone nearby enough to be a target, and hurled it as hard as she could.
It flopped feebly out of the air, though this time it managed to go two feet. That was close enough for the balloon to smack into Kevin's leg and explode against his pants.
Success!!
Except the balloon had popped... and she almost felt sad to see it go. They had gone through a lot together, in this war. Sure, they fought, but... they could have been friends.

Dang it! Another balloon lobed, but this time she'd gotten close enough to actually span the distance... But the balloon hadn't popped when it hit her prey. This was not going to work! If she. Couldn't hit a single person shed never be able to make good on her plans!
Scowling, Meagan slipped back into the proverbial shadows to await her next chance.

(Well, he's getting praise anyway. So there, Soggy Butt.)
Oh ouch! Trev winced as Derek face planted into the mud and then managed to send his balloon right into a beehive. This poor kid just was not having the luck.
Running after Derek (since he sure as heck didn't wanna get stung!), Trev threw his next balloon half-heartedly. Maybe it would miss and Derek's pride would boost up a bit. But no. Even running for his live and most assuredly not trying, his balloon sill connected, sending a splash of water across Derek's back.
Okay. He wanted to feel really bad about it. But it was kind of hard to when he was still having fun. He'd make it up to Derek some other way. Maybe ice cream. Everyone loved ice cream.
