Jeralyn listened to her aunt and although she did not show it, she was very surprised by what had been said. Didn't her father say Aunt Beta seemed to have some kind of gift? Plus, she always suspected Grandma Serenity was not normal either.
"Why is my heart shaped like a bird, if you do not mind my asking?"Jeralyn questioned.

Beta just smiled. "That's not something I can tell you. It's your heart, not mine." She gave her son a gentle nudge. "I'm sure you two will figure it out. Right?"
Delta nodded as he reluctantly removed himself from her side. He lifted his gaze to Jeralyn's for a moment, surprise and then a slight smile appearing on his face--which he tried to hide by ducking his head.
Beta giggled. "Have fun, you two. Play nice, kay?" With that, she started trotting off to make sure her other three weren't getting into trouble.

Jeralyn sighed, wishing her aunt had been able to tell her why the bird shape of her 'heart.' She tried to think it over, but she couldn't think of anything at all and she wanted to know.
"I am so confused,"Jeralyn admitted to her cousin softly.

Delta shed his smile and nodded, shuffling a bit before drawing closer. "... Feathers are ruffled." He glanced away awkwardly, then timidly turned towards Jeralyn again. "Um... what do you... like to do?"

A smile seemed to form on Jeralyn's lips at that, she supposed that was true. She still thought there was more to it than that, some deeper meaning she was not getting.
"Well, I like spending time with my family, even when my brother is being loud. I like laying in the grass at both Lady Dea's land and where Grandma Michi lives, listening to the sounds and smells of nature,"Jeralyn spoke.

Delta tilted his head. "Sounds and... smells..." He looked up at the sky thoughtfully, then closed his eyes. The gentle breeze quietly blew in his ears and somewhere nearby some birds were chirping. The smell of grass filled his nostrils, a much more pleasant smell than the mud that Plouton and Lacey had pushed him into the other day.
He was a little surprised he hadn't done this before. Maybe he'd let the extra sights overwhelm him so much that interaction scared him...

The smile grew bigger as Jeralyn watched her cousin close his eyes and seem to take some things in. She was quiet, closing her eyes too, letting the wind swirl around them and the sounds of the birds fill her ears. She seemed at peace, it just was so wonderful like this.
"See, everything in nature has a purpose and it is good to connect with it. I sometimes meditate with Grandma Serenity, she says it is a good way to fill yourself with good energy, even when there is negative energy trying to take over,"Jeralyn explained.

"Wanna fly..." The words left Delta's mouth absently as he opened his eyes to stare up into the sky. He seemed rather lost in thought for a while before responding to what Jeralyn said. "Fill... with good..." His eyes slid closed as he went quiet again. He didn't really get it, but it was a good thing, right?

Jeralyn went sad for a moment, she really wished she could fly like the birds, Delta, and her grandmother. She loved her grandmother who was one of the ones the young filly was closest to, but she did envy those beautiful white wings of her's once in awhile.
"I wish I could fly, but I was not gifted with wings. Oh and yes, filling with positive energy is a very good thing. It is kind of like finding her feeding trough full of delicious oats,"Jeralyn told him.

Delta blinked and looked over at Jeralyn, ears flicking back. He didn't mean to make her sad... "... Heart flies." He turned back to the sky. "Like Mama's." He tilted his head slightly, frowning into the sky. "Oats...?"

Jeralyn heard what Delta said and she let a smile reach her lips once more, yes, if her heart was like a bird, it at least flew. When she heard him question oats, she tried to think of how to describe them.
"They are these brown morsels of goodness, very tasty. I have had them over at Lady Dea's when she was feeding her Azrein and she let me have some,"Jeralyn explained.

Jeralyn giggled, which was a very melodic sound, one not many got to hear at all.
"If are hungry, there is some delicious grass over there. It even has some sweet tasting clovers in it, I think you might like those,"Jeralyn smiled.

Delta's ears perked up at the sound of her giggling, a little less nervous than before. "Clovers...?" Delta trotted over to where Jeralyn had indicated, eyes scanning the grass to see if he could find these clovers.

"They are dark green and have a funny shape, looks kind of like a leaf, but also is a grass thing,"Jeralyn explained.
