In his attempt to run, and dodge, and figure out what was going on, and well, respect everyone else's spaces by being anything but useful, Mark finally managed to stuff his prototype bazooka back into his little pit artifact of infinite wonders.
Clink.
He sort of stared blankly at what had dropped out of his little mystery pocket-space hole as he removed his weapon from point blank range, staring at the tiny round beeping device-
- "OH SHI-"
- There were explosions everywhere.
A giant plume of smoke and fire billowed from the boss, one lightly charred Death assistant coughing and wheezing as he made his way out of the smoke. "Okay, okay," He un-majestically flopped down on the ground, mindless of the water, "Time out. Like, major time out."
And then he would sit there like this, sort of useless, for the remainder of the battle.

Harrison took another hit for Al anyway.
Mark had gone from standing in one place to running and flailing, which was an improvement. The resulting explosions were... well, they were really something.
But now Mark was sitting in one place again. s**t. Harrison was really getting tired of playing poison hack n' slash.
When Harrison said his shield was low there was a moment of twisting panic. It had been too ******** easy to lose him in the desert to the lizard things. Way too ******** easy. He forgot what he was doing in the moment to stare at him.
"How low?" he asked anxiously. There were two kinds of shield low, the cautious thinking ahead kind, and the proud about to die any minute kind.
That acid stung. Jordan knocked another piece off the creature with an underhand swing; Ferros rumbled and seethed with heat, fully charged and agitated. "We're charged," Jordan shouted as he moved back out of range of a swipe from one of the monster's crumbling claws.
He glanced back and around to assess the situation. "If you're too low, stay back," he told Harrison. "We can handle a little pain. This thing doesn't have much left in it."
Mark just, as promised, sat there, feeling rather sorry about himself as his life flashed before his eyes. He remembered when he first got into the cave, being all majestic and stuff as he used his prototype runic bazooka. Her remembered being badass and causing great explosions. He remembered sitting here and remembering his life flashing before his eyes. Those were the good old days.
The monster towered over him, and as Mark's life flashed before his eyes (see above, repeat loot where $i=$i++; ), he, in a moment of realization, gracefully leapt to his feet, grabbing his weapon. He yelled a ferocious battle cry as he charged, shouting something maybe like "You will not take me alive!" Or maybe "You think this battle is over, but, you have barely won because I remembered something, something watching Star Wars has taught me! Even if you are my father I will never give up! Die!!!!!"
Ths monster gargled, impaled, and then slumped over before dissipating. Mark looked back at the group, slinging his weapon and artifact combo over one shoulder. He gave them a thumbs up. "Here's to looking at you, kid."
Disclaimer: none of the above actually happened, Mark simply raised his weapon defensively at the right moment at the right time as the creature literally impaled itself on the weapon while charging. He blinked, then looked around.
"Huh." Mark scratched his head, desummoning his weapon. A long pause and then he gave the team a very out of place thumbs up. "Here's to looking at you, kid."
Who exactly was he referring to again?

<< PART 2 - THE CAVERN >>
Inside the Cavern, it's dark and difficult to see, and it smells strongly of brine and fish. You're standing at the beginning of what looks like a center room, with several other rooms split off of it, but it's too dark to see what exactly they are.
- Use the diagram in the spoiler tags below to move around the room! You start at the heart square. - You will be rolling 1d4 ten times. - The key is: 1 = up, 2 = down, 3 = left, 4 = right - If you're at the edge, and you roll in that direction, you don't move, and stay on that square - i.e. if you're on the heart square, and you roll a 1, you don't move anywhere, because you can't move upwards. - All players must roll 10 times. They must record each tile they have been on. If blank, it is a blank space.
BONUSES: - Life Hunters: At any point you may FORFEIT your roll to choose any tile that is NOT a tile with a glyph on it to move to. You can only use this once. Note which tile you are moving to. - Death Hunters: You may choose EITHER directions horizontal or vertical from each other equal to your dice roll. So if you roll a 4 (right), you may choose instead to go (left). If you roll 1 (up), you may choose instead to go down. This is unlimited. - Moon Hunters: Whenever you OVERLAP and step on a tile with a glyph you have already stepped on, you may choose instead, to immediately teleport to a tile with a glyph you have not stepped on. This is applicable two times MAX. - Sun Hunters: Your may move UP TO 2 tiles at once in your direction! (You choose how many 1 or 2)
- The goal after all the rolls is to have the players cross at LEAST once all of the tiles cumulatively (at any point in the 10 rolls, they must have landed on these tiles). This means if player A crosses the heart tile and player B crosses Square and X tiles and player D the moon tiles, you are safe! The heart tile is a freebie (counts from the go!) - Once again any player can cross these tiles at any point in time, but somewhere along the 10 rolls they are granted all the players COMBINED must touch all 5 tiles. - If these conditions are NOT filled after 10 rolls then you must try again - a large vortex opens up in front of all players and swallows them whole! You have to pay 5 RP points to try again from start... - If these conditions are filled then move to ROUND 4.

Rep stepped out onto the first room, and looked deeply concerned. "This better no be another ******** maze. I'm terrible at mazes." Sometimes in the dead of night he would have nightmares about being lost in that endless undersea labyrinth where he'd gotten his earring, endlessly wandering and stricken as Harrison had gotten further and further away.
He had to focus.

All there was to do was to go forward, so he did - the next room was devoid of the floor markings of the first, which had markedly been heart shaped, and he wondered if that meant there would be others like it along the way.
