"Actually, I guess I have," Rin held up a hand as if quietly telling Melvin to wait before standing again and exiting the room, leaving him alone to his own devices for quite some time. She probably should have told him this would take a while.

Melvin sat there and waited, confused why she left but guessing this had to do with entertainment. He waited, because he couldn't follow her and ask, and she left before he could continue asking her specifically what it was. He waited, and he waited, and then he started to frown at the door.
Reaching over, he grabbed his phone and waited a bit more, glanced at the door, and then wrote a text.Saliru Text to: RinAre you growing this thing or did you go off island? It was part sarcasm, and part wondering how long he would have to wait around. If waiting was part of this game, he already hated it.

Rin eventually returned with a large backpack that appeared to be stuffed full. His text had been ignored for the sheer fact of shut up give me a minute god.
She slung the bag off her back and placed it carefully in his lap before proclaiming proudly, "Coloring books, puzzles, activity books, crayons, chocolates, and various other goodies for you."

Melvin looked at the backpack as if to suggest to Rin that he wasn't about to go hiking with her anytime soon, but as she listed what was inside, he was a bit of surprised, a bit picking, and generally just uncertain what to say. He hadn't colored in a coloring book since he was a kid, and she already knew he didn't like chocolate. The activity books and puzzles though did seem like pleasant day wasters - but only if they weren't for children.
"Thanks. I...didn't think you'd be prepared." She didn't get injured that often, did she?
Opening the backpack, he looked inside to see what sort of coloring books and puzzle games were inside. He rarely just waited to find these things out and liked to know then and there.

There was a great variety from my little pony to something one might need to be a college professor to figure out. Needless to say, the higher level ones were clearly unused and might have been purchased as a joke. Unlike the colouring books which saw quite a bit of love.
The further Melvin dug, the more secrets he may have found such as; romance novels (certainly not hers), magazines (more than likely hers given the subjects), red hots, gummies, chips (of various flavours), jerkies, and a few things she might have gotten from his room such as very clean blindingly white underwear.

Melvin went through a few things, occasionally looking confused and other times surprised (especially after discovering his underwear), and then pulled out both a My Little Pony coloring book and one of the romance novels. He then looked up at Rin. "You read romance novels?" He checked to see what the magazines were about. The backpack said a bit more about Rin aside from being helpful.

"No, but I'm sure someone somewhere might get a kick out of them. I think that one is about a fireman or something." Rin flashed Melvin a toothy grin. The magazine titles varied greatly but Rin was not about to even begin to pretend that there wasn't a few titles not for polite company.
There were quite a few.

With the magazines and underwear, he had to slowly look at her as he tugged up on a corner of one of the magazines to show her. "Are you expecting me to entertain myself like that here of all places?" He said, looking at her.

Rin gave him a baffled stare before seeming to suddenly get the question and then burst out laughing. When her laughter finally wound down to breathy 'woos', she wiped a tear from the corner of her eye with her index finger. "I don't expect anything of you, Melvin my dear." She flashed him a playful little smirk, "What you do while trapped in this white-walled prison is entirely up to you."

He pushed the magazine down, lips pressed thin and giving her a judging gaze as if not sure that had been her aim or not. It said something when your partner was being your materials to knock one out in a Infirmary.
Taking the backpack, he set it on the nightstand, fighting the compulsion to organize it, and then looked at his gloved hands. "You...wouldn't mind picking me up a few more things though, would you?" He only had one set of gloves and he was already starting to feel that sick twisting and manic prodding in his mind that said he probably wore them for too long and would need a new pair. Then again, everything about this place, as sterile as it was, made him feel less clean in comparison considering he'd been sleeping for who knows how long.

"That depends; you sure it's not in that bag already? There's a lot for a good variety of people I know. But I still grabbed a few Melvin-specific goodies. More than just clean underwear and red hots," and by that she likely meant to check side pockets and possibly dig deeper past his judgement of various reading materials. Anything he needed was more than likely already provided.
She squinted an eye at him thoughtfully. Judging for his crime of judging.

Melvin reached out because taking her word for it when she was the only person he could ask to retrieve something he deemed necessary was not something he could do. He then systematically went through side pockets, finding gloves, handwipes, and various cleaners. Of course not as much as he usually had, but she would have needed to have brought another backpack just for that.
It still felt as if she was judging him not on the fact that she would remember those things, but judging him for wanting those things in the first place.
"Thanks." He said, not looking at her as he took off the pair of gloves he had and pulled out one of the small bottles of hand sanitizer. "It's probably a pain in your a** to remember those things..but thanks."

She was still squinting that eye at him, "I just wish you'd trust me enough to remember is all." She then muttered something under her breath that sounded suspiciously like asshat.

"It wasn't that I didn't trust you. It's just that sometimes what some people think isn't necessary is.." He had to stop a moment. "It's something I think it is. I don't expect you to think how I think. I just appreciate that you did." He didn't want to fight over what he had been hoping was just a quiet, awkward appreciation that she did bring his gloves along with a few other things. .
He felt himself riled up again over nothing, and lead back against the pillows at his back as he felt the sanitizer evaporating on his hands. "It's just something I take charge of to remember and don't expect you to."

Rin snorted, "Look Melvin I'm still not sure what exactly you like... consider this. But to me, it's rather important." She shrugged a shoulder, "you are important." She rolled her eyes however, "Whatever though, how do you feel?"
