Before, she was too irritated to admit it but now that he looked like a sparkling drowned rat, she could finally admit that the buck smelled nice at least. Smiling down she was feeling gracious. "Look good, Moon! You've never looked better."

He doesn't agree with that assessment but then he can not see the way the sun glints off the water specks that cling to him like pearls. (If he could, he may well never leave the water itself.) Still he grins, at least she is finally appreciating him as she should have all along. "You should come in. Maybe the water will improve your looks." It's hard to tell if he is teasing.

Her feathers were ruffled but a firm smile plastered on her face she decided to grace the brute with her presence in the water. Trailing her tail atop the water's top, she entered as gracefully as she could. But of course, she slipped on smooth pebblerock and lunged headfirst. Good thing she didn't have hair. She broke the surface and fabulously tossed her head back. In her mind she looked glorious, but surely others would disagree. She looked at her reflection and preened back pleased, "Hmm, I think I won this round. I look better wet than you do."

He chuckles lowly at her entrance, all graceful elegance coming undone. Now she is as soaked as he. "I'll humor you this time, Star." Even if he was covered in mud, he would be the most beautiful kin. "You are rather pretty," he allows and then dodges forward, his nose skimming her cheek in an affectionate manner -- then he turns and moves deeper into the water. "Do you like duck?" he asks. The birds, foolishly, have not left this little piece of paradise. All the more for a meal.

The affectionate movement surprised her as her face no doubt showed. She could appreciate the buck's good looks. And even though she would begrudge him the final word, she could not deny the chemistry they shared. It was an odd animal, but still it existed. And because it did, she accepted his truce in the form of the duck offering. "Yes, I like duck, but not their feathers." She followed him deeper into the waters.

"Feathers aren't for eating," he chuckles before his mouth sinks down into the water. The white of his mane floats atop the water as he moves towards the ducks. He's determined to nab at least one, though two would be better, so he sinks down out of sight. It's easier to take them by surprise from underneath. Perhaps he should have told Star that...

So it was like that? She left him. While in the middle of the water. It was a good thing she wasn't hauling anything of value or she surely would have been robbed. And that's what she gets for trusting an above average looking buck. She huffed. Fine. She will just catch her own duck and have her own feast. YES. It will be a great feast. She'll have many types of foods, friends and entertainment. Whatever. Nevermind the fact she has never been successful in catching a duck. She rushed toward the nearest one, the cresting waters pushing the duck further away. She was determined. She pressed on, neck straining and teeth snapping in earnest.

Underneath, it was calmness, and it didn't take much for his teeth to nab the paddling feet of a duck. With a sharp tug it disappeared beneath the water. It was only when he came to shore, sopping wet, a limp duck in his mouth that he saw -- the duck fell with a thud, his hoof pining it down. "Tha-that's not h-how," his words collapsed into guffaws.
