There was quite a lot of muscle in C'tis' back, and all of it went tense at the general contact. "You don't have to humour me," he hissed under his breath before stalking forward to get yet another satchel. Despite his apparent annoyance at Rochelle however as soon as he had collected it he drifted back over to her. If he had to look a fool, better in front of her than anyone else here. "Fourth time lucky?" he muttered, glancing at the curvy glasscrafter before opening up the satchel.

C'tis and Malcarreth - Sr Weyrlings
+0 d1. +2d2 +2d3

Okay. Calm. Take a breath, then look at it.

C'tis failed at item one on the list but moved on to two and three regardless.

"I... have no idea where this is either." The scarred harper made a short sharp little sound that was almost a laugh and passed on the image to Malcarreth, as rich and clear as could be asked for. Malcarreth in turn passed it to Aerith but said no more to his rider, there wasn't anything he could add that he hadn't already said.

Rochelle flinched her hand back from him when C'tis stormed off, tucking her hand in to the inside curl of her elbow. Her face set into something of a line, grumbling even when he wandered back with his new satchel.

"I don't have enough patience to humor you," she snarked once he settled in. "So stop thinking that's the reason, shards. Do you want to go again?" Her arms stayed crossed

What was the reason then? He was being a stupid p***k, he could tell, but he couldn't seem to make himself stop. Everything was just too frustrating and he was angry and embarrassed and-

"Yes. I want to get this right." He could do this, he had to be able to do it. He was smart and capable and he wasn't going to be defeated by some stupid sketches!

Rochelle was angry with him now, because he was being an idiot about this. Her folded arms, the line of her mouth.... He couldn't explain it to her, it was all just stupid feelings and nasty feelings, jealous ones he didn't want her to know about.

"I'll just... get another one then," C'tis mumbled vaguely, seeming to deflate a little and lose the fire of his anger. What was the point of it? He was just on a roll with failure today, might as well top off alienating his friend with messing up on the lesson again.

Malcarreth just about resisted the urge to heave a weary sigh. Humans!

C'tis and Malcarreth - Sr Weyrlings
+0 d1. +2d2 +2d3
10, 8, 16 - Finally got that A!

"...It's Iteos Hold," C'tis said as he unfolded the piece of paper. "That's the Lord's residence there, and that's where riders are supposed to touch down." Yes! Ahahahhaha, take that failure! Closing his eyes again C'tis passed the image of the hold on to Malcarreth, it wasn't his clearest ever but it was pretty good.

The blue in turn passed the image to Aerith, a feeling of great relief flooding through him. If C'tis hadn't managed to get it right in the end he would have been unbearable for days.

"Well, unless Mercy takes it away from me I'm keeping this," C'tis said with a grin, waving the piece of paper in the air vaguely. "I shall frame it and everything, my weyr could do with some more abstract decoration." This was hardly as good as having got it down on his first try but he had persisted and he'd got there in the end which was far better than the alternative of accepting remedial work.

Jr. Weyrlings Kh'men and Maicoth

3 +2 to working on a boat/fishing (going with the safe option) = 5

This was what he was used to doing every morning. Work. The first task of the day was to sort out more food for his brown to devour. It reminded him of separating fish guts from good meat. At first in his bucket, Kh'men was having a hard time separating out food for the brown who was giving almost a running commentary while he worked. Finally though, he was able to find good acceptable pieces for the brown to eat.

This is good. It took you long enough. Maicoth gave a little sigh and settled down. A grumble and his eyes were contented. I am getting full.

"About time. And it would have gone faster without your opinions. This meat is different from fish but the concept is the same." The youth replied. Maicoth snorted and curled his tail about him.

Ah ha! So he finally got one he knew. Rochelle's harsh not-quite-a-scowl softened at the edges when C'tis closed his eyes in triumph. He looked way more relaxed with that single triumph, his foul mood all but having vanished at winning.

"I can make you the frame," She said after a minute. Rochelle kissed her fingers and patted his cheek with them, offering him a grin as well. "Awesome. Congrats, C'tis. especially with the weyr decoration."

...Well that was.

Uh.

Heeeeee!

C'tis gave a little laugh, his lips parting to form a broad grin. "Well, thanks. And that would be appreciated. And. Thanks." At this point he lowered his voice again and stepped a bit closer to her, making sure nobody else was close enough to hear before adding; "For humouring the stupid git. I know I'm a stupid git and... thanks."

He felt silly for feeling mildly flustered and, well, silly over the indirect cheek kiss. It was just... well it was nice to be offered such a gesture of affection by somebody you really rather liked when you knew full well you were a pillock and knew they knew you were too.

C'ross - Meat

C'ross wasn't sure whether it was the wisest course of action to have the senior and junior weyrling lessons at the same time. The two groups were clearly doing entirely separate sets of activities, one set of newborn dragons and one set looking half-grown to his untrained eye. He wasn't sure what the seniors were doing over there with those scrolls - between training? Something about knowing Pernese geography? Well, he wouldn't need to worry about it until Nimith was large enough to fly, at least.

He settled down with a bucket of meat in his lap and Nimith waiting at his side, patient but attentive. To be honest, C'ross hadn't done much handling of raw meat before. He'd never been a beastcrafter or a butcher. Most of the pieces in the bucket looked fine to him... He pored through it carefully, taking out any pieces that were obviously too big or looked to be no good - fat and gristle and skin got discarded.

Then, with a brief pat to Nimith's eyeridges and a fond urging for his dragon to be patient a bit longer, he brought it to the weyrlingmaster for inspection.A passable job. Not perfect, but acceptable for an inexperienced rider who'd never done this before.

Rolling for Wen and Rynsemth
+2 + 0 + 2

It seems the lesson had started. Wen gave in to Rynsemth pressuring and opened the satchel and paused. He frowned looking over the picture and started to flip it about. He studied and finally snorted. "I have no clue where this is," he admitted and huffed. "Am I just suppose to stare at it?"

Rynsemth muttered snickered at the image he got.

Because?

Iafri was not at all happy about this mingling of the Weyrling groups. There were just too many people and their dragons here, and it made her even more uncomfortable than usual. She'd grown somewhat used to the proximity of the other senior Weyrlings, at least enough to not be absolutely sharding terrified of them, but these new ones...yeah, so not okay. So, so not.

Please do not fret so, mylove. There is a test for us to undergo, and worrying about other things will no help. Come, here, I have found us a quiet spot. See?
The delicate green thrummed as she settled herself in her chosen spot. Usually, she preferred to coerce her rider into socializing, but the added stress would be counterproductive to today's task.

The young greenrider accepted her satchel quietly before joining her dragon, who crooned and nuzzled at her. Remember. Do not pay them any mind.

Iafri opened up the satchel she'd been given, and stared very hard at the picture for quite some time. This was..umm...oh, shards, where was this again? One of the Holds, wasn't it? She squinted, turned it this way and that, chewed on her lip, and eventually determined that it was Iteos Hold. Probably. Was she remembering it right? What if she wasn't? What if it was really Eron, or Arcon, or-

Hush. Either it is Iteos or it is not. Give it to me.

Okay, okay. Iafri closed her eyes and tried to give her dragon the picture in her head, but she was still so worried about whether or not she was right about being Iteos that she just couldn't concentrate enough to give Girofleth a clear image.

It was hopelessly fuzzy, but the green passed it on to Aerith nonetheless. I am sorry, she is nervous. She will try again.

I will?

Yes. I know that we can do better, if we work on this. Go and get another, Mine.

Rolling V'ail

V'ail wiped his hands clean, pay attention to under his fingernails and creases before getting out the oiling pot and cloths. Hmm. "This has to be the strangest lesson ever." It was bathing and oiling, all of it was rather simple. It worked on the same principle of massage oils and lotions and that sounded really good about now.

"Yes, my vain and ordering princess." V'ail dipped a corner into the oil and began to work it into the delicate joint, making sure to work outwards, stroking oil up into the slender fingers. He started to whistled, relaxed as he worked on oiling Lanterneth, again for the hmms third time today? He couldn't remember.

And Rolling Wen

Wen took a other satchel, returning and took a deep breath, eyes closed and released it before opening it. "Ahh, Dolphin Hall."

Rolling Wen again...
9=2- 11 = Pass
6 = Okay
6+9+2 = 17 - Pass

'It is sort of an easier one to tell' Wen replied and frowned, twisting and turning the map about. 'You know this is just... somewhat annoying. I read maps but these...' He sighed and frowned, building the image before offering it to Rynsemth.

Rynsemth muttered, deciding it passed and sent it to Aerith.
