Straps checked, double-checked, flight leathers on, Pioth loaded up with firestone…
Please be careful. The bronze’s eyes were tinged with yellow amidst the soft green. S’dekai laid a gentle hand on his muzzle, then leaned his forehead against his dragon’s cheek briefly before he mounted up.
You too, love.
It would be their first time flying Thread with the Revolution riders. S’dekai was not one to back down from a challenge, but he’d felt sick at heart for nearly a turn now. Here, at last, was something uncomplicated: Thread fell, dragons burned it away. No politics. Just the skies and the smell of ash.
His little bronze surged upwards, bugling, and unleashed fire across the skies.

S’dekai and Pioth // Damage Post
They burned away a decent amount of Thread, but a half-charred clump still got through despite Pioth's best efforts. It struck him across the shoulder, scoring him shallowly, and the bronze leaped between to escape the searing pain before circling back.

Acriculeth and A'nos

The wings were flying well today. A'nos and Acriculeth tried to assess who was where, who flamed the hardest and who actually put that flame to use. In doing so however perhaps they were lax again, Acriculeth's flame only took out a small tangle, and another one tumbled down towards them.

The knot of thread hit the bronze's flank this time, but this time he managed to repress his cry of pain and jump between to safety silently. When they reappeared A'nos twisted around to inspect the damage and grimaced, not dangerous but it would be painful in the coming days.

That was nothing, Firith remarked dismissively to her rider, unphased by the small amount of damage she'd taken. She'd endured far worse than what a little piece of Thread could do to her!
Still, do try not to get us hit, if you can help it. We'll last longer.
The scarred Warden snarled at what she assumed was an implication that her stamina might not be up to par, and unleashed her frustrations on another clump of Thread. I will last the longest of all!

Ja'kki grinned fiercely, despite the ash and smoke in the air. Emerath was shining today. Her performance was something to be admired, remembered. Pride urged the green onward as her flame took out an entire patch of thread, not a single strand escaping to scar their home below.

To the left, E'lov said, noticing a patch coming down, and the dragon bugled in acknowledgement.
I've got the one on my left, he sent to those around him, so that none of the others would go for it. He would hate to flame another dragon, even if it might be accidental.
He angled his head up slightly, moving over just a hint and destroyed the silvery patch of thread. He returned to position, watching the area around him warily.

As he turned towards another patch of thread, he missed noticing some, and it struck him on his hind leg. The dragon quickly darted between, to kill the thread, but hadn't been quite fast enough. It had caused some damage.
Can we go back to the weyr now?
E'lov chuckled. Not yet. There's still thread to flame.
The blue growled. Fine, but next time you get hit by the thread. He didn't really mean it, but he really didn't like pain.

"Nice dodge, gorgeous girl!" V'ell called aloud, thrilling in the sensation of wind around her ears and the feeling of weightlessness as Zarth dove.
Save your breath, I'm going in again!
The first wave was already nearly gone, but she prepared to flame again nonetheless.

This was why dragons and riders should be rewarded for merit rather than color! Emerath dodged another piece of Thread with east. Her hide pristine beneath the thin layer of ash from her flames.
You're magnificent Emerath! By far the best dragon in all of Pern!

This time, Firith did manage to mostly dodge the Thread that fell her way, though one tendril snaked itself around her tail. How annoying! She blinked between again to rid herself of the nuisance, and was quick to grumble at Ralla, Not a word.

V’ell and Zarth // Damage Post
This time she was not so fortunate. Zarth shrieked in alarm and pain as the last vestiges of a silver clump were blown into her left wing, and she thrashed fruitlessly at the air for a moment before V'ell mentally shouted Between! Go between, shard it!
The two blinked away and back, but shaken, the little green keening in distress.

Wave two!: 126/126 The first wave of Thread cleared and for a few moments the riders got a clear beautiful view of the sun rising over the land to the east. It was a clear day, not a cloud in the sky, and whichever way a dragon looked they would be able to see for miles and miles.... ...And there came the blur on their view, the blot on the horizon. Another wave of Thread was coming for them.

Aah, that was better! A beautiful, blue sky...for a few brief moments, anyway. The first wave didn't seem to have lasted long at all, but now a second was here. Very well. Perhaps after this one, they would be better able to enjoy the day.
When our work is done, Fi'o assured him, but fondness quickly gave way to sternness as she tossed him more firestone. But it isn't yet! Flame!
As she wished, always. Ivanhoth obeyed with a burst of flame.
