Reshel deflated a little as he frowned. That... Was not the intended reaction. He'd gone too far, hadn't he. Yes. Yes he had. His nephew's girlfriend was out cold, and his nephew was glaring- GLARING at him.
"Watch those sparks, Biroki" he warned, his face grim. It looked like she had only fainted, which was not something he would have expected from her. Zuri was tougher than that.
He really had gone too far. "All right, all right, Calm down Biroki." he raised his hands in apologetic surrender, "I said all I need to say, you can figure out those" he gestured towards the offending objects, "By yourself." He backed slowly to the door, hands still up, "I'm sorry, All right Biroki? I'll leave you two be." he left, heding out into the jungle. Well, his nephew had kicked him out of his own hut, he might as well gather supplies. Biroki could handle a fainting case on his own, and Reshel didn't want him burning down the hut, not while he was still refining his control. Oh well, He'd said what he had to say, and now... Well, it was up to them.

Biroki was not watching anything, let alone his magic. Biroki's glare followed Reshel out. He was angry, very angry. Reshel had hurt Zuri and that was not okay. Biroki just seethed. How dare he put them in this situation? How dare he make strong, reliable, resilient Zuri faint?! He wanted to beat the tar out of his uncle for that! His anger faded for the most part as he turned back to Zuri. He needed to attend to her. its... its a good thing she was already on the floor... Not... not far to fall.. So that was good. No risk of a concussion, so she would probably wake up soon. And be just fine. She had better be, or... or... Or he'd duel Reshel and make him sorry! He laid her out and put a pillow under her head, elevating it like he had been taught. "Zuri?" he said quietly. He could wait, it would be okay.

Although to her it seemed like forever Zuri really wasn't passed out all that long. She slowly opened her eyes and was surprised to find her self laying down, and was that a pillow under her head? "What happened...?" she asked out loud as her eyes found Biroki's face. She remembered Reshel giving Biroki the tea leaves, and then... Oh, Zuri's face burned red. She had fainted. How embarrassing. She was the strong one! It was what he liked about her, what did he think of her now that she had fainted? Maybe he wouldn't like her anymore. Great.
"I'm sorry...." she said quietly. She was so embarrassed, of the whole talk, of the way she fainted, of everything. Belle had moved closer to Zuri's head and nudged her with her nose, so Zuri lifted her hand to pet the roati. "Where did Reshel go?" she asked curiously as she started to sit up.

When Zuri opened her eyes, Biroki felt immensely relieved, his features relaxing, his shoulders slumping. He had been worried, despite knowing it was probably not all that bad. "Oh, thank Serin..." She was all right. "I was... I was worried... A-Are you... feeling okay?" he said, concerned, lifting a hand to lay against her forehead, feeling for unusual heat. "Are you sick?" oh no! He couldn't treat her. He was close now, sitting right next to her. She was probably all right, but she had fainted and he was just worried. "I..." he glared at the door, softened by his relief, "I told him to go away." It was more than just told- he had practically threatened Reshel into going away, but he didn't mention that. Not because he didn't think she would like him, but because... well... he felt sort of embarassed about the whole thing, including the threats. And... it didn't need to be mentioned. "He..." Biroki blushed, "He wasn't very..." Biroki had no words. "... I'm not happy with him."

Ah there was the stuttering. Zuri smiled. "Yes I'm feeling fine. Just a bruised ego." she said while entwining her hand with the one he was using to feel her head. She sat up fully and moved closer to Biroki, laying her head on his shoulder. Even though she felt all better she knew it was better to be safe then sorry.
When he said he told Reshel to leave she nodded. Yes, she was happy about that. "He was just trying to help. My father would have done the same. Though he could have been a little more... subtle about it." she said with a chuckle. "But he was helpful, I don't know where we would have got these... things... if it wasn't for him." she offered. She wasn't happy with Reshel either, but she didn't want Biroki to be too mad at him.

She wasn't mad at him? Of course she wouldn't be mad at him. Why would she be mad at him? Biroki leaned his head against her head, his hand still interwined with hers. He smiled, a bit shakily. If she wasn't upset with Reshel, he decided he should forgive him too. She was right. Though... "I... probably should have guessed when he had me collect all those herbs the other day... I mean, I... I know his recipe for..." his voice failed him and he gestured to the tablets, "I... I should have warned you..." but he hadn't figured it out, and he hadn't warned her, and Reshel had cornered them here and made Zuri faint. She seemed fine, though. Biroki felt worry seep away. Being near her was as nice as it had been back at the lake. It still felt right, even after the... discussion. "So... uh... What now?"

Zuri smiled."How could you have known? He could have been making them for any woman here. Don't worry about it love. Really, there was no way you could have known and warned me. I have a feeling Reshel is good at not letting his intentions known until he feels like it." she said with a chuckle. She didn't want Biroki feeling bad for this, it wasn't his fault that his mentor trapped them, and it wasn't his fault she had fainted.
When he asked what now she looked up at him, still not moving her face from his chest. "What do you mean what now? Well I'd say we've successfully had 'the talk' from your mentor, and now we have stuff to... be prepared. I'd say that is just enough excitement for one day." and again she laughed.

She had called him love. That made him incredibly giddy-happy. "I... oh... Yes. He's... Hard to read." She wasn't blaming him, and he was happy about that.
He looked at her, not quite comprehending for a moment before... oh. Was that what she thought he meant? "I... I, ah, erm..." He stumbled a bit, his brain going one way, and his mouth going another way entirely. "Yes, I... right. E-enough excitement..." He blushed, not quite abe to meet her eyes again. Yes, they were prepared. Right. But it was the what they were prepared for that was making him nervous. "I... uh... I... Are you s-sure you're okay...? I mean... Uh... H-h..." he stumbled a bit more before finding a conversation track that had nothing to do with the conversation of before, though her soft, short (SHORT!!!) hair on his chest was reminder enough. "H-how have you... been? Zuri?" he managed an embarrassed smile.

She watched him fiddle with his words, and she knew that his mind was on the same thing that hers was. It was a good thing one of them knew how to keep cool, or else they would be a blubbering mess of words. When he changed the topic she smiled.
"I've been good. I'm a lancer now." she said proudly. She was sure he would have heard, but she wanted to tell him herself. "And how about you? I heard you defeated a beautiful lady." she teased. It was easy for her to forget that she had just fainted, and that technically they were in his mentors home. When she was with him that was all she was concerned about.

"Congratulations!" he said, genuinely happy to hear the good news from her mouth and not the rumors of others. You'll... be riding Belle, right?" he nudged the Roati with his foot, not wanting to take his hands away from their new occupation- holding Zuri. She had been busy, but he had missed her- the way she felt against his chest, the way her hair smelled, the feel of her lips against his... He had forgotten with all the things that had happened, but now he remembered. "I... uh..." He shivered a little, remembering the lady of the lake and how vicious she had been... and how trusting he had been. "W.. well maybe she was pretty, but I was, uh... Busy. Too busy to notice." It was true! Really! He had had the fire on his mind, he'd been worried about Sen'oda. He'd had to find Reshel. The woman's beauty was not really on his mind. Though, now that he remembered, yes she had been pretty... had that been why he had trusted her? Probably. "She's... not so pretty as you, Zuri..." It seemed like the right thing to say but it... Well, was not exactly true. She had, now that he was thinking about it, been gorgeous. But she had also been a malevolent spirit who tried to kill him. While technically the lake woman was better looking than Zuri, the fact that she WAS a spirit and had tried to drown him put her in a very different category than Zuri. And what did he care? Zuri was Zuri. She was pretty, but he didn't think that he loved (the word was still so wonderful to him) her for her looks... She was Zuri. That was all.

Belle bleated back at him and Zuri laughed. "Silly, Belle won't get much bigger then she is now. If I tried to ride her... Well she wouldn't like it. Younglings could, but no one that old." she teased. She was unsure of what kind of mount she wanted, none of the ones she had heard of really seemed to fit her. But hopefully she would find one sooner or later.
When he told her she was prettier then the lady of the lake she reached up and kissed him. "You are too kind my Biroki." she whispered on his lips. It was getting late and she knew she had stuff to do, he most likely did as well, but she just didn't have the motivation to get up and leave just yet.

"I didn't know that." he frowned. He had thought that Belle was the younger version of something bigger. She certainly looked like she could be rideable. But He had been wrong before, and Belle was a creature from Zena. So, in his defense, he had never been to Zena or seen a Roati. He laughed. "Would she let the younglings ride her? I th-think that would be great. They'd have a ton of fun..." And be absolutely adorable. Biroki didn't mind kids all that much. They were cute, he didn't talk to them much, but he saw no reason to dislike them. He returned her kiss with a gentle, affectionate one of his own. "You're kinder" he said softly, pulling her closer, "I'm the one that yelled at a man that didn't deserve it..." he didn't entirely believe that Reshel didn't deserve it, but he felt he had to forgive him. "I don't want you to go anywhere..." But it was getting late.

She smiled and kissed his nose. He was so silly. When he asked about the younglings riding Belle she looked over at the roati. "I think at first they would scare her, a lot, but after she got use to them then she would be okay them riding her." she said with a laugh. It would be so cute, little younglings playing with Belle's fur. She stole a look at Biroki, not just any younglings, their younglings. Maybe not yet, but sooner or later. Why not? He appeared to like kids, and she knew that she did. She blushed at the thought.
"Awe love, don't be to hard on yourself. You were protecting me." she said touching his chin with her nose. "And I know, I don't want to leave either, but I have to go. It's getting late. Maybe one day we won't have to leave each other at night..." she suggested slyly.

"... I think I'd like to see that. I... I mean, younglings. Playing with her..." he fidgeted (holding her closer briefly) , "Not, uh, the other thing..." he bit his lip a bit, "N-not that I wouldn't want to leave you at all. Night or day..." he hesitated. He wanted to stall, now that they were alone... Well, functionally alone. There was Sen'oda, but she was still unconcious. Biroki wasn't even sure if that counted as being there. Entirely. He wanted to stall. He wanted to keep her there as long as possible. He had missed talking to her. He had never been so close to anybody before, and he wanted it all to last forever, every touch, every kiss. But of course, it couldn't. That was the point. It was ephemeral. She was ephemeral, and real. That was the difference between her and the ghost lady- Zuri... Zuri was real. He kissed the top of her head, running a hand through her soft (short) hair before reluctantly releasing her from his hold. "C-can that day..." he looked at her sheepishly and, yes, slyly, "Can it be... soon? Perhaps?" he smiled, quite ready to shrink back and cower if she didn't like the idea.

Zuri smiled. She had understood what he meant. He was so cute when he tried to clarify things for her. She watched him as they moved, they were comfortable which each other in ways she knew most never would be. When he suggested that they move in with each other soon her eyes went wide. That was something that she would normally say. Not him.
Zuri threw her arms around his neck and kissed him hard. "I'd love that! The sooner the better!" It was if here in Jahuar all her dreams were coming true. Leaving Zena happened to be the best thing that she ever did. She had fallen in love, become a lancer, and now maybe moving in with the person she fell in love with!
