Jake watched the whole display with an uninterested look, and when the lindwyrm was done, he swatted her hand away.
"Why thank you for the demonstration. Would you like me to get some paper and colored pencils so you can illustrate it further? Or maybe some props so you can reenact the whole thing? First off, you'd better clean up that mess you made." He jerked a thumb over his shoulder. "Second, stop touching me. I know full well what I did. What do you WANT me to do? Go to her and tell her 'Oh, sorry, I lied, I really really like you, let's date and spend all our time together and forget the fact that we're FIGHTING A BLOODY WAR AND CAN DIE AT ANY MOMENT'. Oh yah, everything's just sunshine and rainbows, nothing can go wrong. Who knows, I could die during the next mission, maybe SHE dies during the next mission. Then what, huh? Tell me, what's the point, if everything's going to end miserably? You say she'll never forget, but that's the beautiful thing about time. She'll LEARN to forget, whether she likes it or not. So suck it up. After a mission or two, she'll have completely forgotten about the whole matter, she'll move one, PROBLEM SOLVED. Now if you're done here, I have work to do."

Armagnac stepped back with ease, and crossed her arms. "I'll clean that up when you clean up your mess. Since we both know you have no intention of doing that, you can enjoy the lovely scent. Mind the glass." Her tail twitched with amusement.
"You're right, though. There are no happy endings in this life. Sherry knows that. She cries for the dead that she's never even met. She's a little puddle of love," she tilted her head at the broken vial. "I agree, time will dull things, but Sherry never went looking for love. She didn't ask for it. I'm afraid she won't forget.
"I want nothing more than to gut you. You don't seem to get it. I don't like you. She does. For some unfathomable reason she likes you. Still." She said the word like it disgusted her. "I don't want you anywhere near her. Sherry is mine, you don't deserve to have even a small piece of her, let alone what she's willing to give you."
She shifted her weight, putting her hands on her hips. "I want you to apologize. I want you to understand what you did. You hurt her. And I want you to hate yourself for it."

"Well, I'm glad the feeling's mutual." he muttered. "If you like her so much, why don't YOU date her instead? Or Ofelia? Heck, for all I know, you two care for her a lot more than I do." He paused. "Scratch that, I don't want to deal with murder. This doesn't concern me anymore."
Her request only made him stare. "Aren't you asking me to do two completely opposite things? You want me to stay away from her, but you want me to apologize her? MAKE UP YOUR MIND. I know what I did. I hurt her. Do I hate myself for it? Yes, I hate that I didn't do this sooner, before she developed these stupid a** feelings. How was I supposed to know? I treated her like crap when we first met, and I hoenstly don't think I've been any better afterwards. I don't understand you women. MAKE UP YOUR DAMN MIND."

Her tail twitched. "Not to her. To me. I don't you anywhere near her."
She tapped her chin, tying to look like she was thinking. "To be fair, she was in denial for a while. That stupid winter-time kiss should have been a hint, though." She eyed him again, her gaze turning cold. "However, this does still concern you."
She closed the gap between them again, moving slowly and deliberately. "See. Sherry is MINE. You were unnecessarily cruel. All you did was hurt her. You can't make her stop liking you, but you can break her. That's all you did. I don't like it when people break my things." She was touching him again, her large palms lightly resting on either side of his head holding him there. It was meant to simulate the the touch of a lover, but there was nothing but hate in caress of her thumbs. Every touch was a threat.
"I hate you. The only thing keeping me from attempting to gut you like you did her, is the fact that she would cry." She smiled. "You owe me." She couldn't even hurt him. It made her angrier than anything else.
"You know, I see everything she does. I have to wonder, who was right? Her or me? Are you squishy on the inside, too?" The claws of her right hand were lightly trailing through his now. He didn't want her touching him? She didn't care.

"I don't owe YOU anything either." he hissed. At the mention of a kiss, he only stared at her. "What... kiss? You mean there was another time?" Hell, if this happened, there was no way he'd forget it, so... wait. Winter... time? ... Oh HELL no was this during when he was getting infected by JOY or something? Chester clued him in on some stuff, but the rest was foggy... leave it up to that jackass to leave out something like that.
"YEAH YEAH, I GET IT, Sherry's yours, she's your property, tool, b***h, WHATEVER. I already TOLD you I'm not interested, I never WANTED any of this. I-" He froze when the golem touched him, and resisted the urge to shove her away. Despite everything, he would at least remember that any amount of damage he was liable for.
"Well, I hate you too, and the only thing preventing ME from kicking the s**t out of you is because I at least have the common courtesy not to make things more difficult than they already are. How do you think she'd feel when she finds out you came to visit, huh?"
"I owe you NOTHING. The fact I'm not breaking you right now is already more than enough." He grabbed his hand and held it steady, glaring at her. "Though if you keep this up, I can't guarantee this golem won't lose an arm if not more. You wouldn't want to burden her with dishing out expenses on your behalf, because a certain GOLEM couldn't behave themselves, would you?"

She continued grinning, and she left her hand in his. He didn't want her petting him, then fine. She wasn't ready to stop antagonizing him, though. "I don't give a damn about what you wanted or want or think. We rarely get what we want, you know. Lucky for you," her gaze went down, then back up to meet his eyes, as though she were sizing him up. It didn't look to her like she'd be getting her apology either, sadly.
"The first thing she's going to do when she finds out I've been here is check for blood. You do realize that, don't you? Because she'll worry and she's too kind for her own good. She'll forgive me, too. Since all we are doing is having a nice little chat." She may have growled a bit during that last sentence. "Though I feel like I'm talking to a brick wall," she sighed.
"Tell me, hunter, since we are chatting. Where was your courtesy the last time I was in this room? Hmm?" She ran her thumb over his cheek on last time, then stepped back, pulling his other hand from her grasp. "You will not break me," she laughed at the thought of it, "because of expenses she might have to pay. But you will break my things?" She shook her head lightly. "I do not think you are capable of understanding what you have done. Pity."

He was done. SO done. Why were they still talking? Wasn't an hour up yet? It felt like they had been talking for HOURS.
"While I can't lay a hand on you, you can't lay a hand on me either." he huffed. Ok, she couldn't lay a hand on him per say, but she could just as much grab something and stab him... not that he was going to tell her that. "If that's how you feel, then go talk to a brick wall. I'm done talking with you." So done.
"Courtesy? What crap are you spewing? You mean when you weren't a golem? Would you like me to polish you, tell you you're a big strong dragon? SUCK IT UP. I swear, you make it look like you're hitting on me too. Do I need to reject you too and destroy that non-existent heart of yours, because so help me, I will."

She laughed. "I'll let you in on a hint, since you are clueless beyond repair. When a girl like me, touches you like that, she's imagining how nice it would be flay your flesh and smash your bones." Knowing she couldn't hurt him was almost as frustrating as talking to him. She wanted to make him suffer, make him hurt they way he'd made her hunter hurt. Rage was building upside at the fact that she just couldn't.
Armagnac shook her head. "No, I'm talking about when Sherry was here. She deserved better than what she got." The smile died, but her tail continued to move slowly back and forth.

"As if I'd be interested in a b***h like you." he huffed. When would she stop talking? Everything she said, he already knew. Yes, he was a screw-up, yes he broke Sherry's heart, yes, he didn't deserve someone like her, HE KNEW ALL OF THIS ALREADY.
"I KNOW she deserves better. Why the hell do you think I rejected her? Why do you think I'm treating her this way? Why do you think I'm trying to avoid her? Because she DESERVES someone better than me. I don't want her to waste her time with someone like me, I don't WANT her to like someone like me. Can you tell me how I can make her change her mind, how I can get her to stop liking me and actually pick someone better? Because I don't know what the hell I'm supposed to do. Nothing I do is working, so why don't you TELL me?"

She huffed, too. There was no need to state the obvious. "I just didn't think you getting the point of the threat."
Her eyes narrowed as he continued. Was he giving her what she wanted? No, not yet. Armagnac wouldn't be happy until he was in tears. He was telling her what she wanted to hear. That and...more. She smirked. Maybe Sherry was right. He wasn't as heartless as Armagnac said. Of course, he could just be saying it. She wouldn't put it past him.
"I simply meant she deserved not to be yelled at and threatened." Her weight shifted from on leg to the other. "I agree that she deserves more than YOU. I think you are treating her this way because you are a mean, heartless, ignorant worm. I told you already. You can't make her stop liking you. You can make her feel small and angry, but she still cares."
Armagnac's head tilted to the side and she laughed again, as though some interesting thought had just occurred to her. "Are you trying to tell me you did this for her?"

He threw his hands up in exasperation. "Then what the hell CAN I do? Threatening her, ignoring her, flat out avoiding her. Nothing I do is working. She's YOUR hunter. You should know her best. There has to be some way to get her off my back."
He was tired. Tired of talking to her, tired of arguing with her, he just wanted her to go away. He had a feeling Sherry wouldn't deliberately send Armagnac here, so clearly the golem came here without her consent, or something like that, and she couldn't come here because Chester was currently talking to her. It was then he realized the nergal might have been making the situation... worse. DAMMIT, he should have never let that idiot leave.
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd of course he said too much. "Yah, sure, go ahead, LAUGH. You told me countless times how worthless I am. I concur. I am worthless. I'm useless. I don't deserve someone like Sherry, hence why I'm trying to make her hate me, but apparently she still has the misconception that things will work out. If you want to help her, then help ME figure out how to make her change her mind."

Armagnac laughed again. Oh, goodness. Was he being truthful? It was more than she had hoped for. If he was being honest, then that meant she could hurt him. Maybe.
"Nothing. Sherry is foolish. I have told her even since I woke up to find she was infatuated with you that you were not worth her time and would only lead to pain. She says silly things about not being able to choose who the heart likes."
She stepped toward him again and leaned in, looking him in the eye. "Are you being honest with me?" She grinned. It was the type of grin mean people use on an insect before they squash it for fun. "Do you really agree with me that you are nothing of worth, and that you don't deserve my hunter?" Pleasure mixed with the malice in her eyes.
"She doesn't hate you. Short of actually trying to kill her, I don't think you could make her hate you. She has no misconceptions. Don't be afraid there. Sherry is certain that you hate her. You don't think you are worthy of her, yet you squashed her under your boot as though she were a weed. Ha!" She straightened back up to her full height. "That is all you did."
She laughed again. "I tried. I suggested others, even if just for a short while. But no. She liked you best. And you tore her heart out -- for her sake? It's beautiful."

Yeah, that's right, just keep rubbing it in. Make him feel like complete s**t. Armagnac was playing a dangerous game. All the walls he had built up around himself were slowly starting to crumble.
"She really is an idiot..." he muttered. When Armagnac leaned it, he stiffened, eyeing her back. She had already accomplished within the hour what Chester had been trying to do for the past week or so. "What do you WANT to hear? Yah, I'm not good enough for her, yet I treat her like complete crap, making her think she's completely beneath me. Ironic, isn't it? I'm a sadistic b*****d."
He let out a bitter laugh.
"Thank you, for telling me that everything I'm doing is completely useless. Tell me, what do I have to do? Brainwash her? Kill myself?" To be honest, the latter was really tempting, but since Chester was bonded with him... that would mean killing Chester too... or putting him into permanent hibernation. He couldn't do that to him.

Armagnac was so happy she could hardly contain it. It was perfect. Beyond perfect. "Oh, no, no, no. You have to suffer. Brainwashing her would not fix things, and killing yourself, well. That is a cheap way to go about it. Besides, she'd cry." Armagnac shook her head. "No. Pain in here," she reached out to tap his chest, "Is best." It was what she wanted for him. "Other than that, there is nothing you can do. You already broke her. She has no intention of angering you again."
She then gave him a quizzical look. "Tell me, sadistic b*****d. Why do you even care that you are not worthy of her? I am very pleased that you see the reality of that, but most human men, from what I know, would simply take advantage of the situation. You said you wanted her to hate you and pick someone better. Why?" Armagnac was suddenly confused.

Jake completely misunderstood. "What, you want to stab me?" Armagnac's question only earned a heavy sigh. "Like I already told Sherry, and I'm sure you heard also, I didn't come here to pick up girls. I came here to fight. I came here to get away from my past." He crossed his arms and stared at her. "Would you believe me if I told you I was a murderer? I ended up killing someone, because they wouldn't leave me alone. What makes you think I won't do the same to Sherry?"
