Though she knew the term, she rather disliked being called a snot. It sounded... disgusting, and grimaced slightly when Roch used the word. "Angeline?" she asked curiously, tilting her head. So far, Terra and Roch were the only reapers she had met so far. There might have been others... but only in passing. She hadn't REALLY gotten to know them. This had to change.
"Ah, I'm a contractor." she quipped, turning her head to show him the butterfly-shaped mark on the back of her neck. "We're kinda like shamans, except we make a contract, or deal, with a familiar. When the contract is made, we bear a mark of the familiar on our body and are spiritually and physically bonded to them by our names. In return, the familiar acts as weapon and friend. Once a bond is made, it can never be broken." She lifted a hand, finger lightly stroking Psy's wings. "There aren't a lot of us. I only know of my parents and my uncle who are contractors. There may be more, but I wouldn't know. I've never met them."
As they neared the town, the butterflies around her fluttered about excitedly, aroused by the noise.

"Yeah, Angeline," he said with a smile. "Y'know... uh... well, Terra's intent on helpin' me get over a breakup," he admitted. "That's why she asked y'to go along with me on a blind date--sortta like that speed dating thing y'met her in, basically. Except there's not an hour time limit. Angeline's a clockwork reaper that she's good friends with, she's the first one that Terra talked into doin' this," he explained. He led her along the outskirts of the town, clearly knowing exactly where he was at all times, even as he spoke. "She's real fun--I bet you'd like her," he said. "I gotta admit, Terra picks good friends. That, I'm not gonna lie, makes me feel a lot better about graduatin' soon. Y'know, knowin' my sister's got good pals."

"I see..." she offered Roch a sympathetic smile, and patted his arm. She wish she could have said more, but she herself had never taken a relationship seriously. She had no time for such things, seeing as school and shopping kept her busy. A boil could never replace her two greatest loves: Fashion and knowledge.
"I suppose I would." she laughed, taking in the sights around her. "I'd love to meet more fellow reapers, and a clockwork reaper sounds mighty fascinating. I don't suppose... you are a grim?"
She smiled at the compliment, and nodded. "You needn't worry about her. She's a smart ghoul. But speaking of graduating, do you have plans on what you want to do?"

"Yeah, I'm a grim," Roch said. "I'm trainin' t'be a trick or treater," he told her as he started up a hill towards the Creepy Crawlies building. "I've done a few things already--I ran a competition called the Battle of the Bands, went t'Thanksgiving a few times, stuff like that," he explained. "Most hobs have gotten themselves a mentor by this point--t'learn a job for after school."
He stopped at the door, holding it open for her.

Ah, so she had guessed right. Then again, grims were the most common kind of reaper out there. "I don't suppose you use a giant scythe for a weapon?" she teased. If only she knew his last name. IF ONLY.
"Ooh, a trick or treater?" Her eyes lit up with fascination. "That sounds really interesting. You'll have to tell me all about it." Yes, this was totally an invitation to keep in touch. "Battle of the bands? Thanksgiving?" She suddenly remembered the violin Terra wielded as her weapon, and turned to look at Roch, eyes wide. "I don't suppose you have a music-based weapon or familiar, do you?"
It was then she noticed he was holding the door open for her, at which she nodded and did a small curtsy before stepping inside.

"You catch on quick," he said with a grin as he stepped in behind her. The room was large and had several pictures of the various bugs they had further inside. There was a desk to the right where a bored looking zombie ghoul was painting her fingernails. "I'll get our tickets an' a map," he said, patting her hand before heading for the desk to get them inside.
He came back a second later with two maps. "Got it!" he said, offering her one. "Butterflies first?"

She beamed, and turned her attention to the pictures on the wall, trying her best to seem interested in them while she deliberately ignored the ghoul. Though she tried, she still disliked undeads.
When he returned, she took the map offered, and nodded. "How thoughtful" she teased, waving her hand to usher them in.

He pulled open his map, looked at it for a moment, then headed forward to the door that led into the butterfly section. It was completely and utterly empty. The butterflies fluttered around large flowers. The sound of water flowing caught Roch's ear as they headed further in. There was even a little waterfall there, with a rock wall around the pool at the bottom.
It was... pretty. He had no question why there weren't people here, he thought as he looked at Mia. "Butterflies," he said, grinning. "Tons of them, it looks like."

The lack of creeple didn't bother her. In fact, she preferred it this way. It let her appreciate the beauty of the room, the scenery, the flowers, the butterflies... She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. She didn't care if she didn't get to see butterflies in the human world. There were butterflies here, and that was enough for her.
She opened her eyes when he spoke, and touched his arm softly. "Yes, thank you for taking me here."

"No biggie," he said with a shrug, glancing around just to make SURE they were the only ones in there. "Jack, looks like we got the place to ourselves..." He was tempted to do something, he thought, wandering around until he reached the fountain. "Wanna see my scythe?" he asked.
Yes, it sounded like a horrible come on. He knew. He was shameless like that.

"Looks like it," she replied, looking around also. When he started to wander off, she trailed after him, wondering where he was going. She blinked when he reached the fountain, though what he said next had... completely caught her off guard, and she only stared at the reaper before bursting out in laughter.
"That depends. Do I?" Two could play at that game.

"Oh, you do, you do," he said with a huge, wicked grin. He held out a hand and summoned his guitar. The FEAR in the area seemed to build as it swirled into form, then solidified, the neck in his fist. When it was solid he tugged the strap over his neck and tuned the red, silver, and extremely sharp looking guitar.
Then he sat down on the half wall at the edge of the pool. "This is Desiree," he told her. "I dunno, have y'seen Terra's Rosa?"

She blinked, eyes widening as he summoned his weapon, and when it was fully formed, she noticed it was a guitar of some sort. Oh! It was just like Terra's! Or, well, similar. They were both musical instruments of some sort.
She leaned down, chin propped up by her hands while her elbows rested on the surface of the wall. "I have! It is quite a lovely thing. Shame I never got to hear it sing." She looked up at Roch with expectant eyes."

"You'll haveta ask her," he said. "She's got talent. Then again, she IS the Scythe family princess," he added absently. His fingers found the notes, and it seemed like he was just goofing off for a moment before he started singing, almost absently. "He got bad well she got mad And he lowered one more time well she got even No one heard a single word but as the clock ticked from next door I can hear her breathing"

"Princess?" she feigned surprise. "That's quite a title." When he started playing and singing, she let out a sigh, closing her eyes as she listened to the melody.
