Remarque did not want to give the page too much information, so he kept his lips pursed as the girl attached herself. He did not speak for a good few seconds; instead, he lead her to a nearby park bench and helped ease her onto it before taking a seat next to her.
"Don't fall asleep," he said; he wasn't just going to leave her out here by herself if she passed out, but he wasn't looking forward to babysitting her until she woke up. "I brought you these," he said, presenting the apple, cookies and drink. "They should help wake you up, give you a little more energy. That was…the wraith," he hesitated and then sighed, frustrated. He didn’t want to admit any sort of weakness or flaws, but he had to come up with some answer…
"The wraiths have been a little out of hand recently. They can be exhausting when they use that little attack of theirs. They don't mean any harm, there's just something wrong with their heads right now. But we're working on fixing it, if that's any bit reassuring. They won't hurt you—never kill…just…they get hungry, and feed on energy. So they make you sleepy, mostly. Sorry for scaring you like that, earlier…"

"Not... planning on it." Dallol began to feel a little better, some colour returning to her face the moment she was seated and not standing upright. Tempting as it was to make herself comfortable by curling up against something warm even if it was an Eternal Dark Mirror Senshi like Remarque, she resisted the notion, her eyes drooping ever so often as she slipped her hand through the gap between the back of the park bench and its seat, letting it dangle in mid-air till her fingers came across something soft.
It became somewhat easier to stay awake now that something had snared her attention. Curious really what something this soft and fluffy was doing behind or beneath the park bench. She ran her fingers along it, a stroking motion sort of before she gave into her curiosity and grasped it between her index finger and thumb only to pull it off.
Prize acquired, she brought it up to her face, almost bursting out laughing when she saw and realized what it was and where it came from. "There. Wide awake now." She chuckled innocently, tucking the acquired black butt wing feather aside to free up her hand so that she could start nibbling on the cookies. "It's okie. You mean... the wraiths are your pals or work for you or something like that?"

Remarque stared at the girl for a long moment, totally perplexed at what trinket she had acquired that had brought her back to life. He had felt slight pressure on his outfit and caught, just in time, to see her pocketing the material. It had been painless for him; the item was just some décor.
He figured the lack of energy was making her delirious, so he forgave her and waited until she was nibbling on the cookies to draw back just a bit. "I wouldn't call them 'pals'," he replied thoughtfully. "But they do work for us. Usually. Sometimes the Dark Mirror Court requires energy donations. Not for anything nefarious, but we're not like the Negaverse. We can't just go out and demand energy from people in the way that they do, so we have to take a more reserved approach. Rather than drain people to death or rip out starseeds or whatever it is that the Negaverse does, we use the wraiths. Usually they're not a big deal on their own, though recently they've been acting up."
Even if they hadn't been acting up, he'd have used them as a scapegoat to make the Dark Mirror Court seem more innocent. Unfortunately not all of their energy was donated; some had to be taken by force.
But no one got hurt. No one died.
It was just a minor inconvenience—like a hangover.
"Sorry about that," he offered, clearing his throat. "I don't know what's gotten into them."

She still felt really tired but the cookies Remarque gifted her seemed to be helping with it somewhat. Finishing the first one, Dallol paused to ponder over what the Eternal Dark Mirror Senshi was telling her, pursing her lips together before posing forth a question. "Energy... why the obsession with it? What do you need it for?"
It wasn't as if the Order Senshis and Knights needed that at all so that brought about a curious point as to why the Negaverse and Dark Mirror Court - essentially those aligned with Chaos had to go about sourcing for it. She then gave a small shrug at his apology, not at all seeing why he needed to apologize for something that he seemed to have no control with regards over.
"... s'ok. Not like I lost a limb or got horribly maimed as a result of that encounter..." That would have been bad. Really bad.

Dallol's easy forgiveness was a relief to Remarque, who was quick to relax once he realized he wasn't going to have much of an issue trying to stay on her good side. "Dark Mirror Senshi are at a bit of a disadvantage. We have no homeworlds to power us, no cats to aid us. We have to work for every scrap of energy we obtain, and we use that energy to ensure our survival. We have two options, really. Don't gather energy and let the rest of this world kill us off, or take what we can and use it to survive. To try and save the rest of the senshi here in Destiny City before it's too late. There are evil things out there, lurking in the Universe. The Senshi here all hailed from a homeworld, from some planet out there in space. All of their planets are gone. Dead. So far as I know, at least," he shrugged. "Either by their own hand or by another's. Most senshi made foolish errors. Mistakes that could have been prevented, had they only been aware. But most of them are too stubborn to admit that they were ever wrong—in this life, or the last. The Dark Mirror Senshi are enlightened, though. We are on a path to redeem the senshi, to strengthen them. To pave a path towards freedom and power. But…"
His voice drifted off for a second before he finished, "But it's been a struggle. And we're still trying to get our footing. So we need the energy, to make sure we have a chance to save the other senshi before history repeats itself. If we had more time, maybe we wouldn’t need the energy. But we don't. So, desperate times call for desperate measures, and we're just trying to get ahead before it's too late."

It was really tempting to reach out with her hand to flick Remarque's nose for giving her such a lengthy account and probably try to confuse her in the process without even sharing with her the answer that she seek. Dallol blinked slowly, perishing that notion in her mind in favour of jabbing the side of his arm to try to get her point across. "But you still haven't quite answered my question as to what you need the energy for and why the Negaverse are gathering it as well."
She snorted, whatever the Eternal Dark Mirror Senshi had shared not quite making any sense to her as she poked the straw into the drink and took a sip from it. "And what do you mean by homeworlds powering you and cats helping you?" Waving her hand in a dismissive gesture of sort, she continued. "There's... plenty of cats in the side alleys. Take your pick."

Remarque huffed. "I have answered your question, you just weren't listening. We gather energy because we need it to protect this earth and to help derail the White Moon Queen's notions of brainwashing. We offer a life outside of the meaningless existence she supports. Whereas she would use senshi as her pawns, leave them to do her dirty work and die for her, the Dark Mirror Court gives senshi the freedom they need and a goal they can obtain. Versus her selfish delusions. We use the energy to save the senshi, to free them from her. As for the rest—you really don't know much about senshi, do you?"
The question was mostly rhetorical, and he made effort to explain in another way. "Senshi are connected to things out in space. Other planets, other worlds. They are tied to these homeworlds. The Dark Mirror Court is disadvantaged because we've been cut off from ours. We cannot reach ours, cannot communicate. We are, essentially, on our own. And all we want to do is create a safe haven, outside of this war zone. Somewhere safe, for everyone. And cats—have you ever met a guardian cat?"

Dallol fell silent now at Remarque's retort, making a conscientious effort on her part to concentrate and listen intently to his account while she sipped her drink to regain some of the strength and energy she had lost. What he had said made sense sorta and she found herself unable to detect any flaw or loophole in the Dark Mirror Court's intents now that he was putting it across in that way.
"I see." She frowned a little and shook her head at his posed question, the term guardian cat new and entirely foreign to her at this point.
"So what's a guardian cat like?"

Remarque seemed to relax after his spiel. "Guardian Cats are…like mentors. They have information you cannot find anywhere else. So far as I know, they exist to help the senshi. But," he shrugged. "The Dark Mirror Senshi don't have cats. So we have to rely on the ones that work with the Negaverse. I admit, I've only met a few. The one who was there when I awakened, but I only ever saw him once. There was a cat, very full of herself, but to whom I am indebted to all the same. Dahlia, she was the one responsible for helping me get stronger. As was Lyssa, but…"
He paused and then shrugged. "You don't want to meet Lyssa. Interesting cat," he insisted, and then tapped at his temple. "Just not all there. I suppose cats are as different as people, but senshi rely on them to grow stronger. I don't know much about them, but I'm not much of a cat person. Though…"
He looked at the girl. "It's rather unfortunate if the cats aren't going out of their way to help the knights, too. Not very fair to leave you wandering around without anyone to guide you. How do you know what you're supposed to be doing?"
