Discordia’s lips parted and her cheeks blushed as she looked to Requies. She was still unsure of why he would think her of being beautiful. She looked all too well like her Father, or at least she figured she did considering that she didn’t really look like her Mother or anyone else of the herd. Plus it didn’t help that Florian didn’t speak of Discordia’s biological Father much. She smiled and blinked away from the young stallion and lowered her head to hide her blushing cheeks from him behind her mane. “I do not doubt my Mother could manage on my own. And I don’t doubt she wouldn’t like you, but…I don’t really agree either,” she said. “It’s hard to explain, Requies. And you’d have to meet my herd and see my brothers to really understand. We’re so different looking…I want so much to fit in,” Discordia sighed softly as she opened her talons and let them drop down gently.
She shook her head and tucked in her wings. “Enough sad chat,” she turned to Requies with a bright smile as if nothing had fazed her. “It’s depressing and your visit here shouldn’t gloomy,” she said. “Now, then…If I was to come with you on this adventure, would you keep me safe? And what about my faithful companion, would he be allowed to come as well? You know he would follow even if you were to disagree. Plus, something tells me that even if you were to put up a fight with him than you would most likely lose,” she laughed softly at the thought of her odd-looking creature friend brawling with Requies.
“Where would we go? What would we see?” she asked with a bright, bubbly tone. She paused for a moment before turning to the young stallion with their noses almost touching. “The ocean Requies! I want to see the Ocean!” she gleamed with bright eyes. “And the snowy woods that my Mother traveled to when she was my age. Think we could do all that?” she asked him with an optimistic smile.

“M-Mother what are you doing here?” Discordia gulped quietly trying to act casual even though she was shaking in the inside. If her Mother found out that she was trying to keep a stallion within the herd’s borders…Well…Discordia tried desperately not to think of what her Mother or anyone of the herd might do if they did actually find out.
“I came out looking for you,” Florian responded as she looked to her daughter. “You told me that you were going to take a quick break. I didn’t expect you to take this long and this so far out,” her eyebrows furrowed as she looked Discordia up and down. “You’re not hurt are you? How come you’re way out here?” she asked question after question. Discordia shivered as she looked away and down at her hooves. “I—I,” she started to say. “I lost myself. You know me and how I can get when taking walks. I just…lost track of time and where I was walking to,” she lied.
At first Florian didn’t say anything as Discordia looked up to her Mother. “Well you should head back to the herd. They’re all worried about you and it’s getting late,” Florian told her. “Come on now,” she turned and motioned for Discordia to follow, but her daughter didn’t budge. “Discordia? What is it?” Florian’s voice full of concern. “It’s just that…I found some of those berries my…erm, companion likes. You know him…Uh…it…I’ll return to the herd, yes. I just have to gather these berries,” she lied again. Oh, how Discordia hated lying—especially to her own Mother.
“Shall I wait for you?” Florian asked quickly. Discordia smiled and shook her head. “I know my way home, Mom. I won’t be long…I promise,” she smiled. Florian nodded and nuzzled her daughter goodbye before returning to the herd. Discordia waited a minute…then another minute, and finally to make sure she trotted ahead and couldn’t smell or hear her Mother anywhere in the nearby distance. Perfect! She exhaled loudly and hurried back to the cavern where Requies was.
“My Mother found me!” she breathed heavily with eyes full of worry. “That was a close one…Requies, what if she comes back? What if someone else from my herd comes back? I cannot lie to them! I cannot tell another lie to my Mother! And hiding you here…it’s rude…and…it’s not right…and…it’s not safe for you,” she stomped her hoof on the ground of the cavern. “I forgot to get you some food! Ugh! Shall I go back---“ she paused as thunder echoed in the distance. “Great,” she sighed and rolled her eyes as she leaned against the cave’s wall. “Just perfect…” she groaned and fell onto the ground with another heavy sigh escaping from her vocals. This day just couldn’t get even more worse.

Discordia’s lips parted as she looked to the stallion whose eyes glowed in the darkness of the cavern. Instead of say anything, she simply nodded her head with a warming smile. “Thank you,” she finally whispered as she stood up and stood close to Requies. The smile on her lips blossomed as she lifted her head and draped it over his neck. Her eyes closing for a brief moment as she nuzzled him. “You’re quite understanding, you know that? Because of that I am very grateful. Seems like you’re the only one here who really understands me,” she opened her eyes and faintly laughed. Discordia lifted her head and stood back from him as she looked past him to the cave’s entrance. She could hear the rain pattering against the stone. Thankfully it wasn’t raining hard, but the thunder still echoed and lightening flashed. “Aren’t you afraid of what my mother might do if you did escort me home? Or worse…the rest of the herd…” she gasped, ears pulled back. “I don’t want you getting hurt on my behalf. It just wouldn’t be fair,” she sighed. “You certain of this?” she asked him with a concerned look. “I can always escort you back home…well…as far as I can possibly go. It would be no trouble at all,” she reassured him. “I just don’t want you getting in trouble,” she smiled warmly.

Discordia’s smile brightened as she looked to Requies feeling overjoyed and happy that he no longer wanted to hide from her Mother, even more so wanting to actually escort her home once the storm had passed.
Honestly what was the worst that Florian, her Mother could actually do? It’s not like she would actually harm Requies and the most Discordia would get was a long lecture on how not to bring strangers into the herd’s lands. Oh well, she thought silently. Discordia wanted---needed to get away from these lands. She wanted to go out there and venture alongside Requies.
“I don’t believe I should be feared by appearances. You’re not at all threatening…I mean, sure when I first met you maybe I did feel some fear. But…Now that I know you a bit more it doesn’t faze me at all,” she smiled warmly. “Besides look at myself,” she stepped back a bit. “I’m a misfit. You say I’m beautiful, but I can’t see it. All I see is some sort of a freakish monster,” she sighed.
Discordia quickly shook her head. “I’m sorry. I don’t mean to dampen the mood,” she apologized. “And you should know that I’ve thought about it…thought about taking that offer of traveling with you. I’ll speak about it with my Mother,” she said. “And when I do talk to her about it I’d like you there with me. If that’s okay?” she asked, hoping for a positive answer.
